I have a Panasonic, PV-GS15, 5 months short of being 2 years old and it does not work. The screen kept turning blue with a message to hit the reset button. Doing so provided no positive results. I called Panasonic, questioned the reason for the reset button, their tech support did not have an explanation. I noticed all Panasonic camcorders have this reset button, while other manufacturers do not have this defect of an option. I suggest buying your camcorder from anyone but Panasonic.

I suggest if your not on a budget, get a PV-GS300 or PV-GS500. Or if you are, get either the PV-GS29, PV-GS39, or a great choisemwould be the PV-GS59! If your from a european country or somewhere outside the US, you can get the camcorders i listed in PAL system!

my panasonic PVG-115 broke aswell, im thinking of buying another but damn it just stopped working! wouldnt turn on or anything, so i took it apart like this and found no problem, there are SOOOO many tiny peices its unreal! well done for getting it back together! Any suggestions of what make of camcorder to buy next? Im heading to the states next month so i will get a cheaper one over there!

I agree, apart from the fact Canon lenses are superior, Canon makes the whole camera, unlike Panasonic who takes bits and pieces from other manufacturers and gets one of its value added partners to build a generic Panasonic badged camera. Cool vid, you should burn it onto a DVD and send it with the bits to Panasonic Head Office ;)

Also canon know how to make batteries that actually last. I have had 2 panasonic camcorders and my housemate has one at the moment. On all 3 the fold out screen things stopped working properly. Useless. Shit in low light too.
