  • Thanks for watching the video and for the imput.

Good observation ... when looking at the video from side views I absolutely have my knee higher than my target. However, I am still pointing or aiming at the target using my knee as a reference point..this is because my head sits well above my knee so I am looking down at it. Therefore when aiming with my knee, technically you are correct...my knee is physically higher than my target. But from my sight line(it is pointing directly at it).

    Try it.

  • That was a novel interpretation of the aiming, and one that actually does make some sense. In karate however the aiming line is not eye to knee but hip to knee so the thigh bone points at the target. I assumed it was the same in... kickboxing?

  • You are speaking of alignment rather than aiming.Your hip should align behind your knee for optimal execution of the technique. That is the same in Kickboxing. In order to aim at a target you must first "See"the target and then use something to bridge the gap between sight and the action of hitting your mark..Example, on a gun to shoot and hit a target you see the target then bridge the gap by looking through a scope or a sight and pulling the trigger.
