  • SEALs are bad ass... But remember Marine Force Recon were around before the SEALs. Force Recon was started in 1957. SEALS started in 1961 under the Kennedy administration. Everyone loves the SEALs but Marine Recon is old school and they are still around today and are now part of SOCOM. Back in the day the were not. Both groups are some of the best our military has.

  • @flooopy1 there not part of socom MARSOC is the Corps contribution to marsoc

  • @Drunktiger67 I thought they switched over to SOCOM in 2007? Peraphs I misread my info.

  • My grandfather was a member of the 4th Marine Raider Battalion out of Camp Pendleton during WWII. Spent 8 months or so in the South Pacific. This was the forefather of 4th Marine Recon.

  • it does exist there in camp lejeuin north carolina and camp peddilton

  • listen all of you idiots.. force recon is still here, 5th force in okinawa was disbanded in 1998 but the drp (deep recon platoon) is what the assault element is, msob is here, marsoc is here.. and people like braun619 are obviously full of it, no self respecting recon marine would ever tell you what his job his... bulk fuel specialist maybe

  • haha you hit the nail on the fucking head, I always see comments like that and people claiming to be seals, SAS or working in psyops, no self respecting member or former member of those organizations would just outright tell you that, maybe if they knew you, but certainly not just fucking strangers let alone internet strangers.

  • Sooo these R Recon Marines not MARSOC?

  • reconnaissance

  • Are any of you in recon? because they are no longer force recon units only marine special operations battalions. And marsoc is marine special operatins command they tell recon where to go.

  • yea. that is my mos

  • Actually they brought back force recon

  • @eathis12 you sir are poorly informed

  • its is now called marsoc people google it

  • i have been in force recon for 6 years now and it fucking rocks but there primary mission is to recon and we try to not get caught thus swift silent deadly cause we go in and let the battalion know wat lies up ahead

  • Have you seen any action cause i wanna go into the one with the most action involed

  • Regular old grunts see the most action bro Marine 03's or army 11 bravos i think it is

  • ok thanks man

  • wow, so you got in when you were 9? outstanding. Troll better

  • they arent apart of socom because socoms primary mission is to seek and destory and anit terrisom the force recon primary mission is to recon to let the battalion behind them wat to do and wat to watch out and etc

  • Marsoc answers to soccom Force Recon answers directly to the Marine Corps

  • I dont think Force Recon exists anymore.

  • Actually it does they brought it back recently

  • it actually does......they dont wear the same uniform as normal infantry marines tho

  • yes they do lol

  • no they dont......WHEN IN BATTLE they dont wear the same uniform as standard infantry......

  • it depends on the mission environment etc. even regular infantry dont all wear the same thing all the time trust me shut up lest you continue to make yourself look stupid

  • no shit ......im gonna send you a video of force recon in their desert unifrom

  • no your gonna send a picture of a flight suit which everyone uses then im gonna show you proof then your gonna feel stupid and shut up

  • no they are ussocom unit. and its called msob.

  • Marine Recon and Marine Force Recon where reorganized and now they are united as one force. They aren´t a USSOCOM unit at now, but I think they are an elite force.

  • Marine Reconnosanse got its start during WWII, then it was called somthing else. After WWII the old Recon was dispanded, it was only al few years before vietnam when they were brought back. That was the war when the recon team named "Force" Recon was introduced, and were the teams got their first practical use. Then the Corps added them under S.O.C.O.M in 2006. Thanx to anyone who took the time to read this long post. =)

  • They were called Raiders back in WWII
