  • the mom should have been smacked a good one her cig about killed them all

  • the cop kicking in the door could have made that room flashover......plus he just added air to that fire

  • It's better to scream "FIRE" in any dire situation because there are people who would not respond to the word "help."

  • thats why you should have working decent smoke alarms people...

  • Hello!A very good story!3 people was saved of 911 of fire in the house.

Two kids and a mom was save!Thank God for it!They are better after it happened.=)

    Its a micracle they live!=)

Give it 5 star for this good episode!=)

    Greeting TheCARRE74.=)

  • didnt seem as if she was bothered, i mean if that was me i would have been screaming for them to get my baby

  • career or volunteer it doesnt matter i know volunteer stations that smoke career stations in so thats not even a factor

  • Very nice work by police and fire.Although the place should have a fire alarm system. You also have to consider that the FD was volunteer and takes longer to respond.

  • just because a department is volunteer does not mean it takes longer to respond.i have been a vfd. for 5 yrs and our response time is just as good as any paid department.

  • Wow.

  • I WANT PIZZA NOW!!

  • f she had another kid in there, why didn't she turn around and grab the child before she turned around and got out herself?

  • I Don't Know.

  • She tried, but the girl was in the other bedroom, and the smoke and heat were so intense that she couldn't get out of her own bedroom.

  • She COULDN'T it was too hot, if she had tried to rescue the girl herself, all three of them could have died.

  • These vintage, old-generation videotapes make Picture & Sound quality less than desirable.

  • @THEMIKON8ER: the series is not on DVD. There is no other way to put the episodes up without doing that for now.

  • I bet she quit smoking

  • never kick in a door

    cops tisk tisk

  • don't know why you got 3 thumbs down for your comment apparently alot of people don't know much about fire.

  • as he stated he didn't have time if he was going to save the girl.

  • actually thats a good point so whoever thumbs downed this listen up. By him kicking in the door he rapidly introduced oxygen into the room and if the conditions were right would have caused a backdraft or flashover

  • The jump didnt look that far, i could make that easy

  • And then your legs break..

  • Smoking kills in more than the obvious ways.

  • kinda underfunded fire department

  • thats what i think too

  • I mean this in the most sensible possible way.....the fire department is ALL volunteer meaning they are often times NOT paid they have a budget that helps them meet their equipment and vehicle maintenance etc but are otherwise non-compensated

  • my company is vollie and we get new gear every 3 years and we have brand new rigs 500 grand each

  • They r lucky the baby was able to withstand the smoke and wasn't too scared to go to the fireman! Wow!

  • They don't let you do it as volunteer work where I'm from. And I don't know anyone who becomes a Paramedic or Firefighter for the money, b/c you don't MAKE a lot doing it.

If you're in it for money, I suggest becoming the Medical Director, aka a medical doctor who specializes in emergency medicine.

I'd do it for free if I could, but I don't have the option. Thus I'm a paid Paramedic, but it doesn't feel like work b/c I love doing it.

  • Policeman's done a Brilliant job!

  • Hey, for the last time, I was not being disrespectful or degrading! Can't anyone make an observation without somebody misconstruing it as disrespect? I was merely wondering because I'm from a big city, for God's sake

  • spoken truly!

  • I use to watch this show when I was a little kid... but I always only got to see half the show because I had to go to school! Great show... amazing story this one was.

  • she lived ??????

  • The apartment should have had a fire alarm system that would have alerted the family shortly after the fire broke out, and automatically would alert the fire department.

  • I agree, the landlord should update the building. This apartment should have a fire alarm system.

  • Please remember this took place in 1991. That kind of technology didn't really exist back then. I'm sure it's the case now though.

  • ****1993 look in the desc

  • please post more episodes my sick mother really enjoys watching from bed.

  • the Firefighters Should Have Ba on

  • I wonder if she still smokes.

  • which is more important, $10 or your kid's life? my dad cares about my family so he put a smoke alarm in each bedroom and hallway

  • man!!! I loved this show when it was on back in the day!. The highlight of my week was comin home to watch it every week :)

  • Was the back window actually strong enough to walk on????

  • here its law a smoke dector for every floor of the house they would prefer one out side of every bedroom as well

  • the heading was like these "Patrol Car Fire Save" i thought patrol car was saved from fire...lol

  • I think that's a stupid title name if you ask me. It confuses you that a car was on fire, not the apartment room.

  • makes sence when you watch the movie. they use the patrol car to save prople from the fire.

  • Mom almost killed everyone with a cigarette. Good job Mom!

  • cigarette are the most useless things i ever

see and that one of the reason why i am kind

of disguted of the careless mother

  • Lago Vista, Texas.

  • smoker!!

  • I wonder if she quit smoking after this?

  • Maybe Tammy didn't smoke at all. It could have been from the father. What could have happened was he was in a hurry to get to work and was being careless and dropped the cigarette on the couch. I could be wrong but I'm just guessing. Remember, you can't blame someone from taking a hunch.

  • lol

  • Two words: SMOKE DETECTORS!

  • i thank all apatment complexs like that need

to have a cental fire alarm system such as

a simplex by law sense the atendens have been known to

forget a candle or get careless eletrical fires are common and morely in old apartments

  • Why would she leave her baby? I would try my hardest to get my baby out if I knew I had a baby in there!!

  • If she went and tried to get her baby and she got overtaken or injured now there is two people who are trapped, three if you count that first boy. She did the right thing.

  • Yeah, that is true.

  • A lot of the responding vehicles look like POVs. They must be really out in the sticks! lol

  • Do You Have The Segment After This One Because I Would Like To See It If You Have It No Rush Though Thanks

  • by the way now apartments are required to have the fire alarm boxes with lights, not the kind you pull the kind that are like a smoke detector.

  • why dont they install sprinklers instead

  • they have sprinklers also.

  • If you have that segment, could you put up the 3rd one from this episode where a boy cuts both of his arms on a glass door?

  • I believe the boy & glass window/door episode is already on YouTube.

  • The one that's already on here is a different one. The one NDW85 is talking about is where some boys are playing tag in the yard, and one of them is pushed through a glass door.

  • Ok, my bad. :-(

  • This Episode Almost made Me Change the Channel once! My Dad was a Firefighter Where I live! This Epsode Also Shows that If a Smoke Detector was in that Apartment,They Might have Been Clear Before 911 was dialed! That Goodness For the Firefighters & Police!

  • go to tvshowsondvd, com and vote on rescue 911 to come out on dvd, rescue 911 has 433 votes

  • 1993 a good year.

  • All that from a cigg... just another reason not to smoke

  • True

  • This town only had a volunteer fire department? Wouldn't it be more practical to have a more professional and round-the-clock department to keep track of emergencies?

  • Maybe they can't afford it, who know's, if every town had a paid department all our wages would be taken in tax, they did a good job, to have an engine on scene within 5 mins of the 911 call is good even for a fulltime department, a good lesson, fit smoke detectors!!

  • Have working smoke detectors AND Don't Smoke!!!

  • there is a diference between paid and professionals firefighters. our vol dept does over 300 hours of training a year. and keep track of all the emergencys quite well. thats an insult to say u think they should have professionals instead of volunteers.

  • No, I'm just curious b/c I'm from a big city...excuse me, but it wasn't meant to be an insult, so don't jump to the conclusions

  • I agree with you on that because im a Fireman for both i work for a big city paid department and i work as a volunteer in my town when im not in the city

  • Honestly, from where I come from, the great state of Maryland, no matter if you are paid or a volunteer, you are still professional, we get the same training and do the same job, whats the difference? and I know it wasn't supposed to be a insult, but just a little opinion. :) We all serve and do the job to save lives!

  • That's Right. I am also a Volunteer Fire Fighter. If your in it for the money you are in it for all the wrong reasons.

  • Heh, even if you are in it for the money, you are in the wrong business =P

  • very true!! But you cannot put a price on the brother-hood that you get at the station. And to be around brave people who at any second will risk their life for someone they have never met...being a full time firefighter/paramedic would be a very satisfying career.

  • Agreed!

  • A LOT of fire departments are volunteer and they do just as good as paid fire fighters. CesMan83's comment was degrading and disrespectful.

  • This segment was on Discovery Health Constantly! But what in the world did the kid cut his arm on after this cause I don't remember??

  • That was the one where they were playing tag in the back yard and he got shoved through the window.

  • I am not sure but was it the window of a door to the house?? And his friend says, "Oh, I'm sorry!" when he realizes he didn't mean to push him into the window of the door.

  • Yes, that was the one.

  • And the medic I believe said, "This kid was so nice, and cooperative, that my heart went out to him."

  • there has only been 5 votes on rescue 911 on thshowsondvd . com ,4 about the last mouth if rescue 911 is ever going to have a chance of coming out we all have to vote !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the syndicated version of this segment is called patrol car fire save and before this segment there's another segment up on youtube called cribbage choke.

  • my day is officially MADE! thanks for uploading!

  • Your Day.
