Very nice work by police and fire.Although the place should have a fire alarm system. You also have to consider that the FD was volunteer and takes longer to respond.
just because a department is volunteer does not mean it takes longer to respond.i have been a vfd. for 5 yrs and our response time is just as good as any paid department.
actually thats a good point so whoever thumbs downed this listen up. By him kicking in the door he rapidly introduced oxygen into the room and if the conditions were right would have caused a backdraft or flashover
I mean this in the most sensible possible way.....the fire department is ALL volunteer meaning they are often times NOT paid they have a budget that helps them meet their equipment and vehicle maintenance etc but are otherwise non-compensated
They don't let you do it as volunteer work where I'm from. And I don't know anyone who becomes a Paramedic or Firefighter for the money, b/c you don't MAKE a lot doing it.
If you're in it for money, I suggest becoming the Medical Director, aka a medical doctor who specializes in emergency medicine.
I'd do it for free if I could, but I don't have the option. Thus I'm a paid Paramedic, but it doesn't feel like work b/c I love doing it.
Hey, for the last time, I was not being disrespectful or degrading! Can't anyone make an observation without somebody misconstruing it as disrespect? I was merely wondering because I'm from a big city, for God's sake
I use to watch this show when I was a little kid... but I always only got to see half the show because I had to go to school! Great show... amazing story this one was.
The apartment should have had a fire alarm system that would have alerted the family shortly after the fire broke out, and automatically would alert the fire department.
Maybe Tammy didn't smoke at all. It could have been from the father. What could have happened was he was in a hurry to get to work and was being careless and dropped the cigarette on the couch. I could be wrong but I'm just guessing. Remember, you can't blame someone from taking a hunch.
If she went and tried to get her baby and she got overtaken or injured now there is two people who are trapped, three if you count that first boy. She did the right thing.
The one that's already on here is a different one. The one NDW85 is talking about is where some boys are playing tag in the yard, and one of them is pushed through a glass door.
This Episode Almost made Me Change the Channel once! My Dad was a Firefighter Where I live! This Epsode Also Shows that If a Smoke Detector was in that Apartment,They Might have Been Clear Before 911 was dialed! That Goodness For the Firefighters & Police!
This town only had a volunteer fire department? Wouldn't it be more practical to have a more professional and round-the-clock department to keep track of emergencies?
Maybe they can't afford it, who know's, if every town had a paid department all our wages would be taken in tax, they did a good job, to have an engine on scene within 5 mins of the 911 call is good even for a fulltime department, a good lesson, fit smoke detectors!!
there is a diference between paid and professionals firefighters. our vol dept does over 300 hours of training a year. and keep track of all the emergencys quite well. thats an insult to say u think they should have professionals instead of volunteers.
I agree with you on that because im a Fireman for both i work for a big city paid department and i work as a volunteer in my town when im not in the city
Honestly, from where I come from, the great state of Maryland, no matter if you are paid or a volunteer, you are still professional, we get the same training and do the same job, whats the difference? and I know it wasn't supposed to be a insult, but just a little opinion. :) We all serve and do the job to save lives!
very true!! But you cannot put a price on the brother-hood that you get at the station. And to be around brave people who at any second will risk their life for someone they have never met...being a full time firefighter/paramedic would be a very satisfying career.
I am not sure but was it the window of a door to the house?? And his friend says, "Oh, I'm sorry!" when he realizes he didn't mean to push him into the window of the door.
