I really liked this movie, especially the atmosphere when they are south of the border. I liked the characters and dialog too. It was a bit political (2 really obvious parts), but it didn't detract from it much.

Yeah, this movie is seriously mis-titled. It's pretty damn good if you are into thriller/survivalism/adventure stuff. Not much of special effects, but its not a brainless CGI slugfest with monsters and lasers. I think it is a very good watch if you like to actually think about the movies while watching them, not letting them to out-think you.

It's unfortunate that the movie was marketed in the completely wrong way. This film wasn't a monster movie and (despite the contradictions in the name and presentation of the trailer) it never intended to be one. It's about the characters. It's a fantastic film in my opinion. It did more with a half a million dollar budget than Cameron could do with 300 million. It felt real and from the heart, which quite frankly is a rarity these days in cinema.

kinda liked this movie, its not really a MONSTER movie as the title sugests,

its more about, human spirit during times of disaster!!

Ive seen too many movies where a massive monster eats hundreds of people, then gets blown up?!?!

its got quite a dreamy feel to it?!?! thats just my opinion,

and given the fact I think the whole movie was made improvised and on a laptop (I read that somewhere) it was quite refreshing to see something a bit deeper!!

I'm wondering if the monsters are just props for a 'run away from something scary' type of film, or does it actually serve as part of the plot as opposed to being a prop. The difference between one and the other is the difference between a great movie and the same ole movie with a different type of bad guy.

it is actually creative, because the movie has nothing to do with monsters, theyre like a secondary character, its really a love story, a love story with a very confused producer since he mixed up the North of Mexico with the South, and somehow managed to have the USA finally build that mile high wall, while at the same time leaving a big ass gap in it... it was an ok movie but not the greatest ever.
