  • I have a pregnant mini doxen named Reesee and she'll be having her puppies in 2 weeks. This video reminds me of her and all the help she'll be receiving.

  • @goldblaze93

Good luck... this dog's name is Snickers and her sister's name is Reese (Reese is a short haired, chocolate, cream and tan double dapple). Snickers had 5 pups here (I kept 2 of them) and Reese had 2 of her own a year ago on Valentine's Day... I kept both of Reese's puppies too. The three other pups that I gave to friend come over and play once and an while too... Sitll one big happy doxie family! Enjoy your puppies when they come!!!

  • @dlc55555 My relatives have a Silky Terrier named Snickers. And thank you. :)

  • I think you guys did an awesome job delivering this pup. Sometimes they need a little bit of help. I have a long haired doxie too, and we tried to breed her, but she just didn't want to mate. We even waited for her to be most fertile and ready, but she's not a mater, I guess... Watching this video helped me feel better...

  • poor baby. a lot of interference going on there and keep in mind that while the puppies are feeding, it induces contractions which aides in the birthing process. using no gloves was also not good for either human or animal. no offense intended. glad everything turned out ok.

  • To all of the "leave the dog alone" people, The owner has stated the person doing this was trained, and doing it under special circumstances (last of many, breech, placenta already separated). I am a huge fan of nature taking its course, but sometimes natures course it to kill the baby and occasionally mom too. This is where intervention is a good thing.

  • Awww so beauiful, but aren't mother dogs giving birth supposed to have their pups in a whelping box ? And is she allowed to stand up and give birth ????

  • AWWW!!

  • Nice video, but I do agree with PeachMushoroomMario, let nature take it's course.

  • Posted*

  • Unposted this vid on my 9th bday

  • My little sister has a dog just like this one

  • I cant believe you let the others nurse while she was giving birth.

  • are you supposed to be shaking it up and down like that?

  • This is an interesting video and so sweet. I also think you should really really back off. It's not right to force her into positions she isnt comfortable in or make her push when she isn't in contractions. Nature tells her body what to do and nature should really be left alone naturally. It looked like she was tired though and maybe stressed from all the poking and poking and poking and pulling and petting. Thanks for putting this up though! Nice video and sone beautiful pups!

  • @PeachMushroomMario

Thanks... I am the owner (& camera man). "Snickers" had 5 pups.. she was huge. This was the final pup. The others were easier & she did do most of the work... we did pet her & talk to her. This last pup was pretty big (he still is, I have him too). His feet were turned the wrong way & he was stuck & the bag broke before he got all the way out (took in some fluid). I am glad they all turned out OK. No more puppies though... poor doggie... but, she was/is a GREAT mom.

  • first itime i seen a dog give birth...

    interesting.,

  • let her do her thing. youre probably making her nervous by keep touching her.

  • medical gloves perhaps a good idea?

  • @froyboy4life

I'm the camara man (and dog's owner). I was at a safe distance... yep, it was nasty! Momma dog is fine, I kept the first pup and the last one (shown being born here)... all are great dogs.

  • wow it looks evil in the last part /: (sorry for my bad english)

  • way too much intervention. Get out of her business.

  • The mother is so beautiful.

  • Awww. this is so sweet.

  • What was that.. noise.. i still feel immature.. haha

  • Thank god you know what to do!

  • what sis you take out of the dog when you pull off the 5th puppy?????

  • I am glad I watch this video,. My puppy candy will have her babies hopefully tommorrow on Sept 11,2110

  • Wow what a bunch of cuties !! x

  • i have one name cindy and she is da same color and she is really friendly

  • why do you fling them?

  • @bluepurplepink1

My friend who helped deliver the pup did the "flinging" because the puppie's bag broke before he came all the way out and he had sucked in some fluids. She was trained in the procedure... very dangerous if not done right. The puppy turned out fine... I kept him and the first born puppy too. Mini Doxies are the best dogs I have been around (for a small dog). Maybe I am a bit biased though!

  • Kudos to that dog I can't imagine giving birth to a weiner

  • I have a black and tan dachshund, She si two. There are really sweet dogs!!

  • its gross but cue

  • break "the bag" .. lol, its called an amniotic sack.. .

  • do u have to get the stuff out out of there nose and mouth with the thing or u just do that to help the pup or something

  • im breedin my mini daschund on monday today is july fourth and i was wondering how long does it take for her to get pregnant i kno its 62 to 63 days of pregnancy bcuz i am a HUGE dog person but any tips or thing to tell me that i should kno?

  • *YOU CAN DO IT *

  • i have a minachure dachshund and she pregnet i hope the are beutiful

  • how many has she had?

  • How much did you sell them for? If you ever decide to do this again, I would love to purchase one for you :)

  • @MissQueenAshley before you buy, try adoption first. There are zillions of dogs in desperate need of a home. I got a doxie from the pound and he's a great little dog. Adoptapetdotcom and petfinderdotcom are two sites to begin your search. There is also breed rescue organizations. If you insist on buying a doxie do NOT get one from a pet store, don't support puppy mills, make sure you buy from a caring breeder who breeds for both physical and mental health.

  • hehe, when I first got my little Dachshund(He's gonna be 6*i think*) and he barked for the first time around us, he sounded exactly like one of those Rubber Squeak Toys. He was like Arrf! but all squeaky xD Congrats on the cute little pip squeaks :3

  • This was absolutely wonderful to watch! Wonderfully done~ how beautiful.... birth.

  • PUSH!!

  • By the way your dog is so cute!

  • aww and ew at the same time haha i hope theyre doing well!

  • aww your soo gentle wit them well done:)

  • Good Job!

  • my god! be a little gentler :O

  • my god! be a little gentler :O

  • Thanks, I kept 2 of the puppies... the first born and the last born (the one being born here in this video). The last puppy is named RockChalk (I am a Kansas Jayhawks fan). RockChalk is the most loveable dog... first thing in the morning, he 'smiles' (shows all his teeth) and wiggles around and wants to be petted or held even before he goes potty in the morning. Mini-doxies are a great dog breed.

  • I have a girl of 5 years. gonna be 6 in July. I have been trying to get her to have puppies...but no luck. Any tips?

  • No idea about the breeding; just watch when she goes in heat & try to mate her on her 2nd week of being in heat. These dogs were my 1st dogs as an adult. I am taking the vid (male voice talking) the lady helping deliver is the breeder. I got my dog from her, she helped her mate (with another of her dogs-not related of course) and she helped in delivery. This puppy was stuck... he was big & his legs were turned the wrong way. If she hadn't helped, we probably would have lost him or the mom too.

  • @dlc55555 What made u realize ur dog was pregnant? I paired my dachshund with anotehr minature over spring break and now she is discharging this white substance from her....private. It's so weird. I think it might be estrone which is common in pregnancy.

  • Love the dogs

  • OMG that was so tense... What does the flinging do with the little pup's brain?

  • hope the blood on the towl washes off!!

  • omg you could be a little more gentler dont you think i mean hes crying dry the puppy off gently a little and give her to the mother to clean

  • yea, unless you want it to die. Your supposed to clean out the puppy yourself so it can breath.

  • that's so sweet. did all of them survive? what did you name them

  • thatm is a cute gog and the puppies r really cute 2

  • :-(

  • poor gal is tired... she is probably in soo much pain. =[ no epidural or nothing...

  • Our Doxie had her puppies and I just watched. She did ALL the work. It was an awesome experience. All I did was pet her and "think" I was helping her relax. All the stuff the lady did in this video was a bit bizarre for me to watch...

  • poor doggie!....my mini daushand died 15 mins ater she had babys cuz she was a mini and minis have bck problems :(

  • so sorry.... My second mini doxie just had 2 puppies on Valentine's Day. She was 2 days over her due date and I was worried about her. I can't imagine how you must feel... my heart goes out to you. I hope the puppies survived.

  • so cute! i have 17 doggies! i miss the days when they were little babies!

  • rough with the little guy don't ya think??? 0.0

  • the poor thing she looks in pain but atleast the pups are ok

  • my dog had 6 huge puppies for a shitzu runt and first litter

  • This was such informative video. The mothe dog is so trusting of you . And we great at assisting the mom. Are you a breeder.?

The mother's temperment is so clam.

    I love this video

  • The lady in the video is the breeder. I got the mother dog from her and then took her back to help when she had this litter (first and only litter).

Thanks... I will let her know what you said.

  • y were u doing that in 6:31? and wat is that thing used for at 5:42?

  • Newborn puppies may aspirate fluid into the lungs, as evidenced by a raspy noise during respiration. This fluid can be removed by the following procedure. First, the puppy should be held in the palm of your hand. The puppy's face should be cradled between the first two fingers. The head should be held firmly with this hand, and the body should be held firmly with the other. Next, a downward swing motion with the hands should make the puppy gasp.

  • This process may be tried several times until the lungs sound clear. The tongue is a reliable indicator of successful respiration. If the puppy is getting adequate oxygen, it will appear pink to red. A bluish colored tongue indicates insufficient oxygen to the lungs, signaling that the swinging procedure should be repeated.

  • The info above is from a breeding site... it says what she was doing, better than I could explain it.

The dogs are mine... the friend (lady in vid) helped deliver... she is a breeder and has some vet training as well. The aspirator at 5:42 was used to suck mucas and fluid from the nostirls and mouth of the puppy.

I WOULD NOT TRY THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE HAD TRAINING. IT CAN KILL THE PUP IF NOT DONE PROPERLY.

  • haha "this is gonna be nasty....yup that's nasty"

  • Aw, poor girl. I can tell she's tired! My mini doxie girl had two litters. My biggest problem with her was getting the pups away from her before she bit the umbilical cords - she tended to clip them off a bit too close, making it hard to tie them off to stop the bleeding. Otherwise, all went well and seh was a good mommy!

  • I got a Dachshund myself :) I really want some puppies too but my parents dont know if they are going to get puppies , because its too much work :( But shes 4 years old now , we'll see !

  • Hey, how come you choose to deliver them yourselves rather than taking them to the vet?

  • Most dogs will deliver by themselves just fine. My mini doxie girl had two litters at home, all were healthy. :) The first time I was nervous, but by the time the second litter rolled around, I just provided her a box, a quiet corner, and kept an eye on her. :)

  • cute dog and puppies:)

  • very cute pups and mother:)! good luck with ur babies!

  • you r so lucky the puppies were so cute and so is your dog whats her name anyway

  • The mother dog here is "Snickers" yep, she is a sweet dog. Thanks!

  • Well, you obviously have some experience in helping deliver pups, but I gotta say boo to you on breeding a dog whose parents were both double dapples. They are known to have a lot of health problems and boo on supporting someone who has douple dapples. A good breeder would never participate in the breeding of that color.

  • OOPS. My mistake... I deleted my comment- both parents were not "double-dapples... both parents were dapples. I got two from the litter (the solid mamma dog here and her sister a chococlate and tan double-dapple. I am not a breeder amd I don't know that much about dogs.

I did research your comment... breeding double dapples does lead to lots of problems. Thanks for the "heads up" on this.

  • is it just me or are those puppies born gigantic? like I have a corgi-mix and a pure breed chit stzu and they have a litter and all their puppies were born ALOT smaller than that....is it normal for puppies to be born that size as your pups? or is my puppies the abnormal ones?

  • Oh, ok. Well congrats :]

    thanks for responding.

  • Thanks... the puppies were so cute! We kept the two males (the first born and the last one here in this video). The last one looks like his mom, longhaired but more of a chocolate rather than reddish color.

    Take care!

  • is that a mixed Dachshund? it looks like she's mixed w/ chihuahua.

  • what was that thing at the end that you were putting against the puppies nose??

  • was fluid in the puppies lungs. She sucked it out what the asperator and also "flung" the puppies to get the fluid up...DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN TRAINED TO DO IT... YOU CAN KIILL THE PUPPY OR SEVERLY INJURE IT IF NOT PROPERLY TRAINED IN THIS TECHNIQUE. She did a great job helping deliver the puppies, the last pup came out wrong & was "stuck."

  • you i a amazing ob on getting that puupie out i fell ba for your og she was so tire an trying the best she could

  • that was beautiful , gross too btu beautiful my dog had puupies and they were twins

  • The birth giving was gross and cute at the same time.

  • It is cool, but gross, but mostly cool.

  • oh wow, your dog is beautiful.

  • thats going to be my dachshund in about to weeks, i hope every thing goes smooth!

  • Good luck on your litter...

I still have all five of my puppies. They all have homes to go to but, it is really hard to let them go yet. They are really cute! I wish I lived in the country; I would keep them all.

  • i had to "throw" 2 of the puppies and it works!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. Our mini had puppies last night and with all of the research, your video provided the most instrumental help with our successful delivery. Two of our puppies were breech deliveries but all turned out just fine. Your technique with clearing the pups airways was extremely helpful with actually seeing it and not just reading about it. Thanks so much. She had two males and two females ranging from 6.4 oz to 7.6 oz. How are your pups doing? Thanks again!!!

  • make sure u get them doggie calcium pills for the mother shes gonna need it!!!! Try giving the mom some cottage cheese too!! my doxie had 22 PUPPIES!! and her sister had 19!!! Only four were still bitch all together!!

    GO0OD LUCK =]

  • this is such a sad and amazing video at the same time!!! ive been looking for a dog that looks just like the mamma in this vid. for like 3 years now! i have three dachshunds and i LOVE them they get alot of attention at our house. When i get older and get my own house i plan on taking a year to learn absalutly everything bout them and start breeding. These dogs are amazing. Def. the best dogs ive ever had growing up. i love them to death!! congrats on your litter!

  • Hi I just want it to let you know our dog had her babies yesterday may 13th, she has 3 boys and 1 girl, thank you so much again for posting this video, and all the info you gave us help us a lot ;-)

  • I am looking forward to see if you post any vids too. Puppies are so cute! And, Wow... they sure grow fast.

Great news on your litter. Good luck!

  • Beautiful puppies! Best wishes on their growth! I hope they all turn out as very beautiful, healthy dogs!

Also, the kid in the background at 9:02 - "Maybe they should make a 5-Hour Energy for dogs." Lol great sense of humor =]

  • Thanks so much for all the advice.

  • Our doxie is due anyday now, how did you know your dog was going into labor, i've read that their apetite will go down and tha tthey just want to be close to the owner, our dog is been doing both for the last 3 days, but she is not restless or anything, do they get restless instanly? how did you notice? thanks for taking the time to read my post.

  • The things I noticed within 1 hour of delivery were 1) she delivered (almost to the hour) 63 days after the time when she was bred. 2) she was restless. She acted like she needed to "go potty" and wanted to go outside. She kind of "ran away" from the pain that resulted from the pushing. She was confused... and kept pushing (labor) in a postion that looked like she was trying to "pee" and "poop" at the same time... a weird semi "squating -hunched" position both at the same time. Good Luck!

  • Yeah these are some of the signs to look for, especially restlessness. Also, some occurance, especially a natural one, can create stress in the mother and cause her to go into labor. I've seen this happen many times. I'm in Louisiana and we get hurricanes every few years. When we got hurricane Gustav, my daschund had her puppies. And when we were moving to a new house, our pregnant cocker spaniel went into labor on the way there!

  • poor little baby dog. my duxund has given birth 7 times before. lol, we kept one o her babies 'Daisy' and she is now 3, so we are breeding her soon. cant wait!
