OK I didnt look too much at the video, I just responded to the comments. An I C F wall will have little ill effects from honeycombing. One big question here though is what type of whaling is used? I see this dude is pouring a lintal but man thats still a lot of pressure! scuse me flankingtiger.
Bull ! That wall must be vibrated simply because of its dimension, how wide is that? 5 inches? Any honeycombing you get puts moisture really close to the rods, and oxidizing rods swell, creating fractures.I dont care if yer using p rock all walls require vibration!Boys like you make the men in the field ashamed! That mud is going in faster than the air can escape.Of course you can spend 12 hours properly patching all your honeycomb later, if you dont mind embarrasment, & spending cash uselessly!!
I think this concrete doesn't need to be vibrated due to liquidity of the concrete, except, maybe constructed walls could be tapped by hands here'n'there around the walls which poured by concrete...air bubbles left after such process would be minor damage or threat to the statics of the walls (building), specially if walls being reinforcement on a proper way...
@flankingtiger icf construction needs to be vibrated, usually with a "pencil" vibrator, 3/4"or 1" stinger as they say in the trade, concrete needs consolidating, usualy pour with a number 5-6 slump and pump mix of 3/8's pea stone. concrete gets hung-up on re-bar and should always be vibrated, either internally or externally.
why not use self consolidating concrete......super p added to a 3 inch slump...bring it up to a 6 or 7 inch slump.....excellent flowability
