@nickshel I mean, I'm not saying everything after SAW sucks. I'm just saying a lot of the shit he made after it wasn't really danceable to like this and wasn't as melodic.
@bcbowar50 Ok well everyone feels music in a different way. I see his other music as the rave music and find it very danceable, especially on acid, and this music as his relaxing stuff. Back in the day SAW was the album everyone would put on AFTER the night.
@PtolemyAFX Ptolemy was a Greek dude. He came up with a model of the solar system... it was horribly inaccurate, with the Earth at the center of everything and a whole bunch of other weird crap, but it was deemed the greatest model people had ever known back then - and was accepted as the 'truth' for about a thousand years afterwards.
Just thought you'd like to know where it came from.
@Pwnzor729 It's true indeed that his most well-known theory is also his biggest blunder, but still, he was a really brilliant thinker who contributed loads to astronomy, geography and mathematics and laid down a massive amount of scientific framework for the Romans, Arabs, Rennaissance Europeans, etc. to work upon.
Although really I picked it because I just love this song to bits and 'Ptolemy' is a badass sounding name anyways :P
@Pwnzor729 Aristotle thought that two objects of different weights would fall at different speeds. That does not necessarily mean he was not a great thinker or his other theories are any less spectacular.
@nickshel You are right, both Ptolemy and Aristotle were amazingly smart guys. Smarter than me, anyways. As bogus as their theories might have been, for the time they lived in it was really quite ground breaking. It worked for them, so there was really no reason to change it. Eventually our model of science will change and be replaced with something more accurate, and the process will continue.
if you like Beksinski or are Polish, you should like Stanislaw Szukalski perhaps even more. His gravity and library of work are boundless...sculptor, painter, and inventor of own ethos, "Zermatism"
Im sitting at my desk in the office right now listening to this track. I feel like getting up on my desk, dropping my pants and doing a boogie to this song.
i've only done nothing ever other than laugh as i listen to these little children running around in their cars with stereos with all that distortion it sounds so totally like sheist i cant believe it hopefully some nonamerican (like, most of the rest of the wonderful world) can do better at moving systems...i like the idea of motion and sound and stufF
This shit sounds better than most electronica today, which really goes to show that it's not the price tag of the equipment, or really the equipment in any way, it's what the composer can do.
@w35m4n More interestingly the guy said that he could tell back then that it's not AFX, although this track comes from one of Aphex' most famous albums.
