Dolly is one of the most underrated artists. I wouldn't call myself a country fan but she has written wonderful songs. She also does a huge amount of charitable work for the community where she was from. If you've ever been to Pigeon Forge, you'd see it. She is amazing.

Right-o Sammy, the emotion in a singer can't be forced and will come thru' as blah if they have nothing to draw on. That being said, would you agree that artists of all sorts, painters, singers, etc benefit from pain and suffering, heartache and misery, and not just a lala-everyone-loves-me life?! paula was never a "normal person". i mean, i am guessing he means she was a nobody 5 years ago and she never was. she went away from the spotlight because she was having surgeries etc. and i think it was better for her to leave the spotlight for a few years while she was having some health problems then run arund being a trainwreck with no career, like for example britney.
