The only reason I would ever consider pick this movie up on DVD is "The Girl in white" aka Kelly Lang,Brooke on Bold and Beautiful.She looked gorgeous in these clips.

Thanks for your comment--I remember the beautiful girl in white when I saw this movie in 1979 and I remember the actress's name on the credits--but I never realized that it's Katherine Kelly Lang on the Bold and the Beautiful.

Yeah, that is her, she plays Brooke Forrester. I think the blond guy in the red shirt was on the show as well when it first debut in the late 80's. I think he originated the character Thorn Forrester, I'm not sure.

Never saw this officially at the theater, but I did rent about two months and I really enjoyed it. I could officially understand why this is Scott Baio's least favorite. But it did a killer soundtrack which you can't deny. I love when the hot chick order pizza and the annoying old man rambled on when she was waiting her order....that was classic. I especially love the scenes with the Unknown Comic and Ruth Buzzi. They were some classic scenes. Killer music, too. Patrick kicked ass in this role.

There was a real Skatetown USA in my hometown of Marshalltown, Iowa (closed years ago.) Of course, being in Central Iowa, it wasn't nearly as flashy as this one.

I've got the bootleg DVD but I'm still waiting for the official release of this movie on DVD from Columbia Pictures. What is the hold up? Why has it NEVER been released on VHS, DVD or anything? Who owns the rights?

Two possible reasons why this has never been released on video. 1) Not enough public demand for it; 2) The rights to all the disco tunes in it might be too costly to obtain (the WKRP in Cincinnati dvd is a good example of what can happen if all the music rights are not secured) Which is really too bad because I'd like to get this on dvd also.
