@galactusx2 Valkyrie is a movie basing on the Operation Valkyrie,where Claus von Stauffenberg,with a group of other generals tried to kill Hitler. Lucky Hitler - he survived the bomb explosion. This wasnt the only time when Germans tried to kill Hitler. That lucky bastard survived them all..

I agree, but I was talking about the 1930 election, when NSDAP gained 18.3% to become 2nd largest party in Reichstag. Their programme was no secret, the propaganda was not yet established. That was a democratic choice of the german population. Then in 1933 the president nominated Hitler to the office of Chancellor. That was voice of the german elite. Tragic, but united Germans have chosen to start a war, to exterminate millions of "humans unworthy of living" - Slavs, Jews, etc.

He voluntarily let himself be imprisoned in Auschwitz. In 1948 murdered by Communists.

Stop bullshiting people. There is decent Wikipedia article about Witold Pilecki, a man who voluntarily let himself be imprisoned in Auschwitz in order to investigate the Holocaust. After escaping, he wrote the first ever report on it, later presented to the Allies by polish government in exile.

Search Wikipedia. See also Kolbe - another "suspicious". Yes, the story of Pilecki is as glorious as brave the man was himself. As a member of Polish Home Army, he volunteered for this mission. Soldiers do risk their lives. Lucky are the ones that do it for protection of the people they love. Do not forget, that the concentration camps served the extermination of polish citizens irrespectively of their ethnicity at first - only since 1942 the Jews became majority of the victims.

Getting "in" was not such a big problem. Actually, avoiding it was. Germans terrorized the population by a technique called "Łapanka" - suddenly blocking all exits of some part of a city and packing all that couldn't hide into trucks. Some - the luckiest - were brought as forced labour to Germany, some to concentration camps, some for public executions. Witold Pilecki entered such "Łapanka" on 19 Sept. 1940 pretending to be a soldier named Tomasz Serafiński.

As far as the historians know, his was the one and only such mission in occupied Poland. It was planned long before. Pretending Serafinski was the way to maximize his chances of being directed to Auschwitz, not executed.

At "łapanka" "turning oneself in" meant to be just present on the street at some random city district at some random time. Other than doing a lot of city walking to stumble upon the right place and time, nothing else was necessary. Please read some sources if you are genuinely interested in history. NSDAP won the first position in Reichstag in 3 consecutive democratic and free elections: July 1932 (37.8%), November 1932 (33.1%), March 1933 (43.9%). Only after the March 1933 elections the other parties were dissolved and we cannot talk about free elections anymore, and authoritarian propaganda starts from there. You made me think about a political fiction plot - they succeed killing Hitler and try returning to the 1939 deal (Ribbentrop-Molotov). Would Stalin go for it? Until 1942 - perhaps yes. But not in 1944 - he managed to wrap the western allies around his finger and was winning on his front. Cease of fire at that point would be disastrous for German civilians at that time evacuated massively from occupied lands. Remember soviet rapes, massacres? Fight bought time to save lives.

The less of Germany taken by Soviets, the more German lives saved. Any responsible officer would know it. If Stauffenberg had a deal (ex. secretly agreed in advance with western allies) that killing Hitler would enable separatist surrender on the western front AND continue defending the eastern front, than I would concider him a responsible man. Otherwise, he was just weakening his country's army for nothing, at the cost of many civilians lost to soviet murderers.

The soldier kills another armed soldier only to avoid getting himself killed. The coward would kill after winning a fight. Civilian during war means mostly children, women and the elderly. Does that make no difference to you?
