  • Dancers on a deck.

  • it's screaming, it want's to kick some ass!!!!

  • Great balls of fire...

  • Tomcats forever

  • what a beauty

  • It's a well known fact, Dick Cheney hated the Tomcat and worked hard to get rid of it, hope the smelly old bastard is happy.

    Tomcats forever!

  • Love my Tomcat :)

  • F muthafuckin 14 Tomcat! Anytime baby! You will be missed - best jet ever.

  • Nice and quiet.

  • nice, is that an F-14B?

  • Thank you camera person for pointing the camera at the floor and stopping filming just as it was leaving the carrier, the part where the afterburners sound fucking amazing and is basically the best bit everybody wants to see !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Guerrillas now...Chinese later?

  • Skip to 1:40 to see something happen....

  • what's the purpose of making those signalmen standing like they gotta pee really bad?

  • the f-14 is my favorite plane ,to bad it retired.

  • I want those hand signals at my funeral. I have no idea what their for but I want them.

  • If rather pick a superhornet. That thing is ugly. Especially when the wiga arent swept. FA18-f14

  • @SuperIjoker I laugh whenever I see SuperHornets. At first McDonnel Douglas used the Hornets' small size to sell it to the Navy. (It WAS cheap and expendable, like the F-16s). But Hornets couldnt stray too far from the tankers because they couldnt haul hardly any fuel internally, so McD stretched it out and called it the SuperHornet. Oh, and wasted billions of the Navy's $ testing it. So, Hornets still look silly having to use all their bomb hardpoints just to haul external fuel tanks. nice...

  • @jdaviationltd Well i still prefer the hornet it looks better. That thing kind of ugly

  • Is this the jet that is sitting in front of recruit training command great lakes?

  • I'm sorry, but... GOT YOU JUMPIN OFF THE DECK, SHOVIN INTO OVERDRIVE! too bad the retired these awesome planes.

  • Such a shame

  • Thanks for sharing

  • At least Iran still has F-14s....albiet in poor condition. And the fact that Iran's government is a dictatorship.

  • I'm gonna beat the shit out of whoever had the idea to retire this. tomcat ftw!

  • I was a VF-213er also, I bleed blue and yellow! I was a PC supervisor and I tried for shooting, Live forever BlackLions!

  • @townboy89 Thank you for your service!

  • want to see an f-14 in action? go to IRAN! aww come on these noobs have F-14A tomcats but they are still in operation so this plane is not dead......yet :)

  • Whoa! @1:21 almost ended up as that big cats snack

  • I really miss working on the roof! VF-74 Troubleshooter, 87-90. I wanna go back!

There are only two types pf aircraft...Tomcats and targets!!! Tomcats forever, baby!!!

  • sweet

  • Did the TF30s sound as good as the GE's do?

  • Love the F-14, so sad it had to go away, it was aGREAT jet, better then the F-2 or the

F-16. It was an amazing jet... F-14 forever!

  • oh my ears ....oh my ears .... fuck it up ,please

  • God I miss the tomcat...

  • so beautiful! best thing the US made..

  • 14 thumbs down, screw you idiots! RIP BABY!!!!!! F14 forever.

  • i want one

  • I WAS A VF-51 PC IN THE EARLY 8O'S

  • Retire permanently a successful gun platform, the US way - makes sense to me

  • Too bad they got rid of the F-14.

  • Hornets by mandate - Tomcats by choice:D

  • only flys oVer the skys of iran now

  • @kessmypersainass How do you fly over the sky?

  • stupid to get rid of the F-14

  • cool clip, brings back a lot of memories. I can smell the JP-5 now. I was also a "line rat" then a trouble shooter back in the 80's VF-101 NAS Oceana. There is a cool video of one of our birds doing a demo flight in Cleveland from 1986 on here also search VF-101 to find it. It doesn't seem that long ago but all the planes and ships I was on are now gone. :-(

  • @Nard1447 sad isn't it? shame to see such a great plane leave for good now you have to go to Iran to see them

  • So sad to see such a great plane retired and most of them scrapped all i can say is ANYTIME BABY!

  • I MISS THE F-14

  • i miss this cat soooooo much

  • Maverick's supersonic. I'll be there in 30 seconds

  • Man, I miss Tomcats...

  • she screamed a lot without any reason :P

  • Having been SAVED by a Tomcat while playing in the "sand", It's heart wrenching to hear of the final moments of most Cats...being landed and ran full throttle untill the Engines Failed...but maybe a fitting end for a WARRIOR!

  • I am a Tom Cat Pilot too,

    Shame its no more :(

  • who could possibly dislike this...it pisses me off and also awesome vid I love the F-14

  • we are going to get the Cat back, somehow.

  • The F-14 Tomcat is a cool jet.

  • Man! love this video!!!..so many good memories.

  • AMEN!!

  • off to watch top gun now.

  • Sir can I ask if you know the fate of the last F-14 you took off in?

    Btw, thanks for your service!

  • Thats my favorite jet to shoot off. Sad to see it go. USS Constellation CV-64 ABE

  • ...... ........ ....come again...!!!!!!

  • that mother fucker is loud

  • @ 1:21.... RUNN FORESSTT!!!! RUNNN!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for what you do.

  • The f18 just doesnt have the same degree of charisma....

  • @ 1:18 all clear for take off! deck shirt get the hell outta there lol!

  • 1:16 He was about to turn into a Power Ranger.

  • The topside can't leave that plane until the cat has taken tension so if the plane is at full throttle or not your ass stays till it's under tension. Besides the only plane you can really feel is from the prowler

  • oh boy i noticed when he gave the go signal the guy was still under the plane as the pilot was going full throttle! not good

  • @setarcos4131

These guys know what they're doing.

  • @setarcos4131 you dumb fuck if it was full throttle you would know it, and it would taste good

  • Awesome. "AHHH HAAA.....Jester's dead"!!

  • Fucking beast my uncle does this shit and its amazing!

  • Amazing I love this shit.

Take this power to Egypt and put down the Brotherhood of Islam now. Before Obama the weak muslim shit head fucks the world up like Carter did in Iran.

  • gangsta...what is that, I prefer f14 that the f18, what kind of the hand signls are those

  • @luisflme those tell the pilot when to release and take off.

  • USAF Defend Her Always!

  • Well, if World War 3 ever breaks out, U.S. would re-comission all tech, and what can't serve in fronline, but it'l serve in defence well...

  • They should have converted those old F14s to drones, instead of scrapping them.

  • @mostlymichaelcanada do you know how much that would cost

  • @ashif21 Perhaps your right, but I bet it would still be cheaper than building drones from scratch. The Chinese have been converting their old fighters into drones, thats why I mentioned it.

  • I have a picture 201 hanging on my wall hand painted. It takes pride of place, long live the F-14

  • good shot, captain.

  • Off to DM AFB to be scrapped.

  • What people don't understand this great plane just doesn't have it's place anymore. 21st century warfare is more localized now. These planes were designed to shoot down BEARS, and Tupelovs, this is why the phoenix missile was only carried on this aircraft. Think about it we fought Iraq in 91' and destroyed them on the conventional battle field. Then we fought them on the streets of Sadr city and payed a heavy toll. We're not up against the soviets anymore. We're fighting guerrillas now!

  • @Neverstop302 Ur right, you are right! This served as a design for defend carriers in the cold war! It was built for that not a dogfight nor a bomber! It might be turned into that, but most don't know it's purpose IS What you said solely there! Great post. It was built for it's time.

  • @Neverstop302 The F-14B works great as a precision strike platform, even better than the Super Hornet because it has better range and the LANTRIN on the Tomcat is better than the Hornet's Nite Strike.

  • @FutureMarine1775USA Doesn't matter, how much better is it going to be? The pentagon has a budget, these aircraft are old and falling apart. The amount of money that it cost to maintain and repair these "OLD" aircraft is staggering.

  • @Neverstop302 That is why the majority of the aircraft fleet should still be super hornets. We should still have a few F-14 Squadrons though. 1 or 2 per Carrier Air Wing would do. Just having those would work great. Also, the F-14 can be taken even further. I have been designing a F-14E model for about a month now, and here is what I came up with so far:

Pratt and Whittny F-100 Turbofans w/ Reheat

    Thrust vectoring

    Extra hardpoints

    Simplified Wing system

    Better avionics and HUD

    HOTAS

  • @FutureMarine1775USA Dude i respect your views i really do you have to understand what budget is all about. Dude seriously even a new aircraft like the F-22 is on the chopping block. The manufacture rate for the Raptor has been slashed by almost 15%. Dude honestly you wanna see the future of counter guerrilla warfare there's a new program called the T3-B texan that might be replacing hi end fighters. They turbo prop aircraft lighter and way more manuvrable.

  • @Neverstop302 Kinda like an A-1 Skyraider... cool. I see a point for cheap, low end, aircraft i this economy, but still, it is important to maintain some good, high end fighters, albeit in lesser numbers. The F-14B and D do make great strike platforms. Also, once we are out ofthe economic shithole we are in now, we can have good planes like the Tomcat and Eagle again.

  • @Neverstop302 Also,(Couldnt fit this in last post) your planes need to be based off of your industrial capacity. If you live in a country with small industrial capacity, lots of cheap, multirole strike fighters are the way to go. If you live in a country like Present day america, you should maintain a small, but leathal fleet of high-end dedicated fighters and attack planes, backed by a large fleet of cheap Multirole planes.

  • Cant believe that the f14 was replaced by the f18 super hornet

  • I saw 101 off of the Stennis its final cat shot in RimPac 2004. I know this feeling. It was sad to say goodbye.. -ABE2 (AW) USN Ret.

  • First thing that comes to mind when I see this video: TOP GUN!!

  • @ericatomic934 first thing that comes to mind: never should of killed the tomcat

  • so if you were the pilot whoever uploaded this video. thanks for protecting us

  • that's an f-ing brand new airplane. I can't be that old

  • brand new in the 80's ha

  • You may have not been the fastest, or the most maneuverable, you may have not been stealthy, or the easiest to fix, you may not have been able to carry the largest payload, BUT GOD DAMMIT you were the best plane in my book. LONG LIVE THE F-14D SUPER TOMCAT. We only wish you could have stayed a little more T_T

  • i love how they do signals to the pilots !!!

just like break dancing upon take off !!

  • There's history being witnessed right there.

  • I can't believe the pilot went to full power with that flight deck shirt so close to the nose gear like that. He was lucky he wasn't ingested and killed!

  • Video Wonderful! thank's by not placing music! This noise of the jet is music for the hearings!! Very good!

  • GO NAVY!

  • why last flight, what happened to the f14?

  • @jjtc100 the F 14 was retired by the Navy last 2006 and was replaced by the F/A 18 E/F Super Hornet.....

  • @jjtc100 The F/A-18 took over.

  • @jjtc100 It was retired by orders of the pentagon, a BIG BULLSHIT DECISION

  • Meine Kamera war dann kaputto

  • Man those suckers spool fast.

  • This was my last F-14 fighter command. VF-213 Blacklions. It is the "D" model. I served 8 years fixing this jet and running around the flight deck LOVING every minute of it! Anytime, baby!!!

@365fg - The nose landing gear compression is called "kneeling." The purpose of "kneeling" is to allow the launch bar to lower and settle into the shuttle of the catapult system that launches the jet from the deck.

  • Gosh I love videos like this

  • GOODBYE F-14

  • Hooyah.... Great Balls Of Fire :))

  • Hooyah....

  • Those hand signals the dude made are more gangsta then the gangsta lean

  • @malcolm9001 They are hard to learn too. Trust me.

  • they had to learn them from someone like me i did that back in 1977 on the cv-67 there is nothing gangsta about it i am not now or was i ever associated with rap or anyting gangsta and you should see the engine start up sequence for f-4s before you make a stupid comment like that i am whitewolf455 former AO1

  • @malcolm9001 unlike gangsters they actually serve a purpose.

  • why does the nose drop a little as its settling on the catapult? 00:37

  • Hydraulic compression of the nose landing gear,if i remember correctly i think it had something to do with an extra lift punch as they didn't compress the LG when taking off the ground.

  • @365fg Interesting, I thought it might have to do with visibility on take off.

  • Geh. O_o It's very shrill.

  • This was you? Congratz, its a nice fighter jet and sad to see it to be canceled...

  • f22 has a tail hook. it is internal to keep it stealth.

  • hey 213 maverick, you were on the connie?? VF-2??? cool i was on it as well...assuming you were onboard the same time i was!

  • Gotta love thos flying hummers lol gas guzzlers but overall one of the best planes on earth.

  • Iran still have F14's in service right?

  • @ashif21 yeah but a lot of them have been canabilized for parts which is the main reason the US govt ended up scrapping the f-14s instead of selling them

  • @ashif21 Yes.

    # 72nd TFS: F-14A, 1976–present

    # 73rd TFS: F-14A, 1977–present

    # 81st TFS: F-14A, 1977–present

    # 82nd TFS: F-14A, 1978–present

    # 83rd TFS: F-14A, re-named former 73rd TFS

  • @ashif21 No I'm sure after the overthrow of their government they couldn't get parts from us becuase we wouldn't sell them, so either there sitting in a hanger somewhere in Iran..... rotting, or we sent in a special forces team to sabotage them because during that time period things on the F14 were classified and we didn't want Russia getting the parts.

  • BEAUTIFUL fighter!!

    BRING HER BACK!!

  • The F14 Tomcat is my favorite fighter of all time. What an honor it must have been to fly her last sortie. My heart swells with pride for my country when I watch videos like this. I went deaf just listening to the video. HAHAHA.

  • dude thats awesome.

  • was with VF-32(Swordsmen) when they awitched over from F-4s to F14s@Miramar .

  • The Shah received about 30 Tomcats back in '74. None after that, I believe. They also use a plethora of MiGs and Sukhois as spare parts for their Tomcats are pretty much non-existent. Plus, they're still using the old TF30 powerplant.

But yeah, I used to go down to Miramar a lot back when I was a kid (before they moved to Fallon) and it was freakin awesome seeing these burn around. good memories

  • best cat shot I have seen in a long time

  • actually all air force aircraft have a tail hook incase of runway over-run so they can catch the barrier or arresting cable. I'm a USAF firefighter, i deal with barrier engagements all the time

  • @munyuck69 you deal with barrier engagements all the time? your pilots must have shitty skillz. GO NAVY

  • @acenspades Im stationed at a pilot training base, they are all fresh out of the Academy so of course their skills are shitty

  • Good Bye "Big Tom". The most famous carrier fighter ever.

  • DAMNIT if we didn't have to sell these babies to the freakin Shah, I'd become a millionaire and buy up all of these Tomcats and create a Tomcat squadron dedicated to Naval Aviators, former and present, and hire them for air-shows.

Fuck you Mahmoud you gay bag of dicks, your boasty ass ruined it for us all

  • @nordschleifefan I used to love seeing these at airshows or even just parked at Moffett growing up. Didn't Israel buy most of them? The shah got MIGs..

  • @nordschleifefan chill it was in fact a formidable airplane ,but be assured that the super hornet was the best replacement ever

  • @nicotipro1 the super hornet could be, but it will never have the coolness factor the old turkey had.

  • @nordschleifefan mmmmm i dont think so ,in my book ,the tomcat is nuttin like the super hornet and vice versa u see

  • @nicotipro1 your book and my book have been published at two different eras. Comparing the Super Hornet to the Tomcat is like comparing the 458 Italia to a Shelby GT500, respectively; you've got high-tech, ultra-modern versus old-school character

  • long live the cat.

  • Man.... launching one of those planes is like a dance. Perfectly timed with a big ending.

  • @navyguardf18 having sex with your mom is like a dance too...i get big ending all the time ')

  • amen

  • I miss the Tomcat :[ R.I.P

  • Oink!

  • why did the US discontinue using F-14s from carriers again?

  • @elmosgunner the super hornet and the f-18 share alot of components, it was easier to create the super hornet which is just as fast and a multi role fighter, where as the f-14 was just a pursuit air to air fighter, the plane could carry other ordinance but was not good at it, also the components on the plane where specific to it, more money. the navy takes parts in on delivery easy to have one big contract for parts, then spread them out to ur squadrons.

  • @backlinelover thank for that I've been wondering why for a while now

  • Because of a Stupid decision from the navy because of the arrival of brandnew fighter jest and that sucks

  • "Talk to me, Goose."

  • F-14 I MISS YOU, WHY YOU DUMBASS ? WHY YOU HAD TO SAY GOODBYE ?

  • @Skybolter i think you might need some help my friend...

  • I'm saying that for Good Humor, not for another matter, i'm not out my mind, chiken.

  • @Skybolter your not out of your mind huh.... and what does chicken have to do with anything?

  • long live the [cat] vf-84,vf-103,vf-101 but defently long live the jolly rogers the skull&bones forever.
