@jla2358 We did give her more boneless meat, although she still had her back teeth which big cats use to grind their food up into smaller chunks to swallow, so Freckles could still eat chicken qtrs with bones and whole prey like whole rabbits.

@shootingmen Yes, we removed one whole tooth and then performed root canal on two others, this is when you drill/scrape out all the infected material from the inside of the tooth then pack it with antibiotics etc.. to stop the pain and block it up so nothing can get into the tooth and cause another infection :)

@GgWowGuides Yes we are well aware of the problems that ligers suffer from, this is why we are against the breeding of ligers and any other wild cat that is not part of a species survival program. We rescued Freckles a year or so before we made this video from a backyard in Mississippi.

@zenonzinho12 It's hard to say, the competition is fierce in this line of work, it depends on what you want to do exactly?

@BigCatRescue Work with every kind of animal. But o mostly prefer wild animals or big domestic animals.

@zenonzinho12 I'd suggest studying towards animal biology/animal management then. But you've got to choose if you want to work with wild or domestic animals and if you want to be a Veterinarian or not, then you need to look at specific courses and what they cover etc... lots of questions you need to answer then you need to research :)

@007foppe No Freckles recovered very well, big cats use their back teeth to grind their food into smaller pieces they can swallow, so she could eat the same diet including bones :)

@spazylady1017 Yes, she seemed much happier after the surgery. Unfortunately she passed away this week from her neurological issues. Freckles was the oldest tiger we know of and we will miss her dearly :(

There's really no need for us to go to that extreme for Freckles or to submit her to being sedated again, not to mention the cost of doing something like this and the possibility of the tooth being damaged or loosened and swallowed by Freckles. In the wild canine teeth are obviously needed but in captivity Freckles can be fed the regular diet we feed all the cats and not need her canine teeth :)
