what ga. metal i used 20 ga. cold rold, is that heavy enough? i got real close on first attempt gonna do another, what pressures did you use on oxy ? how does it take you to do a sculpture, i watched your video probably 25 times before i tried. i built a jig to hold metal, i couldnt tell but assumed that is what you did. you are an awsome sculpter, thanks
You are an Excellent craftsman, Sculpter, and Artist, Larry ~ It was great to watch this ~ Well done ~ (I bet you used a lot of Oxy on this ?) ....All the best, Geoff
You are an awesome artist and sculpturer for sure. But why do they all have their eyes closed and the same expresion? Sculpting out of iron as well as of stone immortalises the sculpture...the idea. Why not immortalise smth more than a face, can you capture the expresion and the gaze of a king? This would be worth the time and efford..imo :)
Really impressive! Ever tried to make the man awaken? All of them are sleeping or dead (they remind me the wax masks made when pictures were not an option). Beautiful works
wow beautiful work Ive got a few questions for you nyc. what where you using for a torch is it oxy acetylene? also other than the initial design you had on the starting piece do you have any template you use to check the location of details while in the middle of the work or did you just go by head. also how long did this process take you to complete from start to finish. thank you for sharing this video is awesome!

What is this 14 gauge sheet metal laying over or on? Or what holds it steady while you pound on it?
moevids1 1 year ago
@moevids1 I started with a piece of 6"pipe and squeezed it in the vise, then welded
a piece of 1/2" for the nose, held it together with a pair of vise grips

Heck of an artist working with a strong, tough material. Excellent!
moevids1 1 year ago
this sheet is only 14 ga. I've made 1/8, ... but the steel lends it self well when thinner for this application
