  • I'm not sure why these guys decided to copy your video, and post it as their own. They showed up on my search:

    watch?v=kugPD36y5YA

    watch?v=kMlYXmRntxE

  • @Nomoreidsleft Thanks for the 'heads up man - this is unique footage that nobody else could have used for this purpose, since I possess the original 16mm film, and a little acknowledgement would be nice if people want to post it on their own page.

  • Someone should project this at one of the "Occupy" rallies, and they'll see how the other 99% used to have it harder than the iPhone carrying spoiled brats at the rally.

  • The 99% like me.... smile :-)

  • awsome, great job!

  • @dekkard71 thanks!

  • Thank You ....

  • I want this song sung at my funeral.

  • It fed my moms house of 12 growing up

  • hey this is COAL mining, not GOLD mining

  • yeah, but the sweat of these men became gold for the mine owner. or, to put it another way, oh well.

  • @lundehund44

At $30+ per hour union coal miners ain't a hurtin bunch

  • @beerstudd76 death knows these men by there first name money don't make the job easier.

  • @beerstudd76 ...yeah...black lung, ruined backs...not hurtin' a bit. Sure.

  • @3NUNS It's those guys who risk all so that we may continue to burn coal and by gold.

  • @AequoreusComplector : Sure !

  • @3NUNS My greatgrandfather was a miner.. mi grandfather and my father were also miners... my uncle was among the 33 chilean miners rescued a few day ago. I am also a miner... mining is mining, no matter if you are diggin for coal, gold, silver, shit or.. just the truth...

  • @YoJMMT : Good on yah mate !

  • You're very kind, thank you. The first time I ever saw any of this footage the first thing I heard in my mind was 'We are miners...' The footage is incredible, I had never known there were mines in Michigan's lower peninsula and the faces of these men tell so much. I thought this a more than fitting tribute.

  • You did a wonderful job with this vid!!

what amazing footage!! I have such deep respect for the men who worked in such scary and difficult conditions. Those workers never truly get/got the recognition for the dangerous work they managed to do for such little pay.

Thank you for using this footage as a backdrop to this beautiful song :)
