  • Kirk epically failed as a tactician in the face of Klingon's takeover.

  • NO NOOOO!!!! STOP HURTING CHEKOV!!!!!

  • Kang would later become a Dahar Master!! Well played role by Micheal Ansara!!

  • if youtube can identify copyrighted songs by audio signature, they can normalize levels between commercials and shows SO WE DON'T GET BLASTED WITH SOUND AT EVERY COMMERCIAL BREAK

  • i never understood what the things in the elevator were..

  • "Theres a little something i owe you"....turns out to be a knuckle sandwich

  • Why are these Klingons so dark when others have been more yellow-y?

  • @clpearson991 Perhaps the administration of the anti-retroviral that gave Klingons their foreheads back occurred in between seasons 2 and 3?

  • @jdskinny212 actually it was administrated & created during the era of Archer's enterprise NX-01. the Klingons that encountered the enterprise NCC-1701 were decendants of those Klingons that refused the treatment

  • @bandittdukeboy Kang Kor and Koloth got their foreheads back in time for DS9. I guess that's an oopsiedaisy....

then again I don't consider Enterprise to be canon

  • At the beginning, how did the Klingon Captain know Kirk's name?

  • @wardenphil because kirk's imfamous

  • @wardenphil Kirk is a pretty famous Captain in universe of Star Trek.

  • @hanoc101 Of course he is. he probably slept with Kang's wife LOL

  • i love how spock gets emotional and almost beats up scottie

  • "You are not a human, but you are wery beautiful"

  • @kabooby0 then kirk interrupts his makeout session lol

  • interstellar blackface minstrels

  • when scorry was all crazy it sure sounded like he said f**kin instead of volcan...

  • @nightflower6489

Throughout the series it sounds like they use "Vulcan" in place of expletives when referring to Spock. ;-)

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR VULCAN MIND?

  • Poor Chekhov. Always the one getting the agonizer, shot dead by cowboys, and left in the agony booth.

  • I love this episode. It was a great comment on the cold war.

  • oh look. low budget klingons. Is there an official answer to aknowledge them vs. forehead wrinkled ones? Cuz in DS9, they met these mud-faced klingons and there was a big question about it that didn't get answered.

  • @luno44 . Yes but the official explanation does not fit DS9's statement. There was a viral out break that could only be destroyed if their genetic make up was altered to be more human. Dr. Flocks from the R-Enterprise discovered the cure and altered the Klingons' looks. But wait did not Worf say "We don't discus it with outsiders"? And Flocks had reported it to Starfleet so why did the others not know? I hate "Enterprise".

  • @luno44 In an Enterprise episode they explain it as a disease that came from Klingons experimenting with human genetic augment genomes which caused the afflicted survivors to have no ridges, a trait which they passed on to what is now a large minority of the Klingon population, those with no ridges. A.k.a. low budget Klingons.

  • Not a bad episode, introduced a kind of primitive version of Q

  • @PhatFarm60 There have been a lot more Q-like things before this

The Squire of Gothos was much more of a Q than this was

  • lol @ old-school Klingons -- they all look like they smeared grease on their faces.

  • Ouch. Not their best work.

  • 19:40 That's a saber, not a claymore. Spock would have known...

  • Leave Chekov alone! LEAVE HIM ALONE, YOU BASTARDS! YOU'RE LUCKY HE EVEN ACTS FOR YOU! :D ahaha lolz

  • Freibergers give me heartburn.

  • Somehow, the blackface makes me take the episode as a whole a bit less seriously.

  • Michael Ansara was a much better actor than he was given credit for.

  • Sulu would know about Chekov having a brother or not ;). This is such a kick butt episode. Pretty much everyone got some action in.

  • "who will go first?" my thoughts: "The red shirt! get the red shirt!!!"

  • Why do these episodes always come down to some kind of magic

  • 32:52 nice nipple kirk

  • Wow, Chekov really takes a beating in this episode. Tortured by a Klingon and beat up by his own captain.

  • Man, when nasty stuff doesn't happen to a redshirt, Chekov is next in line.

  • Oh my goodness. Spock's face at 49:26 is PRICELESS.

  • @RealoveGSR Spock in general is priceless. :)

  • @otdtyh Oh, I QUITE agree. Spock is wonderful! I actually just finished writing an Ode to Vulcans (namely Mr. Spock). This is eerie timing haha.

  • @RealoveGSR . . .However that face in particular is quite overwhelmingly priceless. :)

  • @RealoveGSR I've been watching every episode from #1....of all the things 'spotted', that look takes the cake....!

  • Sulu 21:25. JUDOOOO CHOP!!!!

  • So in the 23rd century, the Klingons are still using tasers....

  • @ngobleus, That is a Klingon Agonizer. Not a taser.

  • How does Sulu know that Chekov does not have a brother???

  • Hello! Best Friend!

  • One of Season Three's very best episodes, along with "The Empath" and "Day of the Dove".

  • Is it just me, or was the computer's voice EXTREMELY obnoxious in this episode?

  • Spock's eyebrows move a lot during 34:00-35:00

  • Chekov's little scream just breaks my heart. ;_;

  • LMFAO at 49:24. Spock's expression is priceless, but I'm wondering if Leonard Nimoy was trying not to laugh at that moment.

  • Kang is a great actor - he also appeared in a few DS9 episodes

  • nice of you to put the commercials in AT TWICE NORMAL VOLUME so we can instantly mute them out, instead of just playing along at normal volume so we might accidentally absorb the message instead of being turned off by it...

  • 35:50

    Jim looks like an orange

  • Wow. First time they use a signal to show they are in trouble =) I would have suggested a wide phaser set to stun.

  • chekov screams like a girl. :3

  • chekov ripping a woman's shirt open.... I have no idea why but i must admit it's sexy. XD

  • chekov is always horny

    so is kirk

hes like i don't wanna fight *riips shirt off or it gets torn off*

    but he is extremely cute

  • 26:10 Scotty says "keep your fucken hands off me!" I luv it.. censors be damned!

  • He said "Keep your VULCAN hands off me!!"

  • At 31:35, old Chekov has become a horndog, "You're werrrrry beautiful."

  • Ha! This episode proves the Force exists in the Star Trek universe.

  • @Tren87 No not "The Force", Mind control and molecular manipulation. The force is Telekinesis mind control and foresight all rolled in to one and both heroes and villains use it not just one alien.

  • Kirk :Sick Bay they got another red shirt.

Sick Bay: DAMMIT! who keeps distributing these dam red shirts, cant we give people purple, or green shirts.

  • LOL Did Kirk just tell a Kingon to go to hell?

  • Kirk is a total drama queen in this episode.

  • Scottie has a cool haircut.

  • Oh NO!!! Not the dreaded Klingon Hand Buzzer!!!

  • Obviously symbolic of the era this episode and series was made. The ending may seem a tad bit cheesy, but it fits, in my opinion.

And also, I will always love McCoy even when he gets grumpy. I think it's cute XD

  • I find it funny especialy in The Trouble with Tribbles episode. I love grumpy McCoy.

  • i love the ending sword fight. the swords flex around each other but the klingon doesn't even go for the kill.

  • Favorite line was at the scene starting at 44:50 I will hack you to bits till you reteralize or how every you spell it lol

  • i love how bones totally loses his shit, deforest kelley is so natural

  • you'd think that by this point Kirk and the enterprise would just always assume that some strange energy life form was always responsible for whatever strange thing was happening, just like every other time. Ya know?

  • qu'wI' ghaH qeng la' jay'! "meQtaHbogh qachDaq Suv qoH neH." vIt chaH qeng mu'mey. batlh qawlu'taHjaj qeng la'!

  • anyone here Captain Kirk say at the end of this episode...God Damn? After the klingon slaps his back.

  • I believe he said My God man you should see Spock's face when the Klingon slaps Jim's back it's hilarious Gosh I love Spock =D

  • brooke shields dentist is named... fang. awesome

  • 25:49 gotta love an angry Scot :)

  • You know, if they'd at least normalize the volume of those stupid ads, maybe I'd bother to listen to them.. but as it is, I just mute them when they come on.

  • If you use Firefox, you can install the add-on "Ad Block Plus", and set it to the US settings (assuming you're in the US). Completely gets rid of all the ads.

  • 23:37 You made Spock mad.You won't like him when he's mad...

  • Does anyone else notice that Sulu walks in at 49:28 for no apparent reason, i mean he wasn't even part of the battle outside the engineering room. Random.

  • 26:10

keep your #(**& hands off me.

    lolz

  • He said vulcan not fucken

  • 26:10

you should listen o how he says it and not what he says...

even if he said it with a V, he meant it in an F kinda way.

  • eww the computer's voice got even more annoying XD

  • haha Sulu, Samari sword!

  • 4:36 Kirk says it so calmly XD

  • I always thought the Klingon uniforms looked like something Elton John would wear.

  • I loved the part where Spock knocks down the one guys sorwd then does the pinchy thing

  • KARATE CHOP SULU GO GO GO 21:21

  • "Then transfer out, freak!"

Wow, everyone really lost it, huh? A really good episode. XP

  • Sulu is such a bad-ass. Check out his judo chop at 21:22 xD

  • Mr. Sulu should have been there at 14:45 he'd own everyone with his mad fencing skills he showed in "The Naked Time."

  • Those swords weren't even pointy!

  • Kirk reciting poetry again...Shatner really started his spoken word career ages ago!

    To Kang:

In the heart or the head

    I won't stay dead

    next time I'll do

    the same to you

    I'll kill you

and it goes on and on

the good old game of war

    pawn against pawn

  • Scotty has short hair now.

  • Pretty amazing about the finger. I read that in World War II he was hit by 6 rounds fired from a Bren gun. 4 in his leg, 1 in his chest, and 1 in his right middle finger. Bullet to his chest was stopped by a silver cigarette case. His right middle finger had to be amputated.

  • Do you ever see Scotty's half finger in any episode?

  • Probably one of the more distinguishable settings is Catspaw. He has a phaser trained on Kirk & Spock. Do you know why his finger is missing?

  • 46:20

    AWESOME!

  • Chekov has got "skulking" down to a fine art.

  • i like the klingon sparkly pants.

  • Every planet they go to has those weird pink flora.

  • Maybe because the pink flora were cheap.

  • Remember this was the early days of color television and viewers wanted to get their money's worth out of their new color televisions. That's why the show used lot of bright colors. Gotta love the pastels too.

  • Actually, I think Bones was right when he was "nuts".

  • ROFL 33:19 Kirk picks him up like a little boy... I love it!!

  • I loved that part I was like awe cute baby Checkov XD

  • vulcan

  • maybe Fulcan

  • 14:45- what are they going to do? pound each other to death with the dullest swords in history??

  • lol the greatest mystery in Star Trek history: did Scott say "Vulcan" or "fuckin"?

  • He said Vulcan I thought he said the F***** at first too but then I went back and watched it again he said Vulcan =D

  • bones' eyes are amazing as he goes crazy, never seen him so angry, and i love spock's slow approach towards scotty (gonna get u)

  • It would be hilarious if they made an extended version of this episode haha

  • They should just trick the Klingons into wearing Red Shirts...maybe that will cause them to lose. (:^D

  • OMG, Spock's face at 49:27. :D Great episode!

  • I laughed so hard when I saw Spock's reaction as if hey did he break something?

  • I love the way Kang back slaps Kirk in the end!

  • Kang was one of the best Klingons! He played the role very well. He reprised the role in an episode of "The Next Generation" if I remember correctly.

  • No, hre reprised it in Star Trek Deep Space Nine, but your'e right, he did a very good job

  • I wasn't 100% sure. I thought it was "DSN." Thank you for the correction.

  • No problem, he was one of my fave klingons

  • Which episode of DSN was it? Could you give the plot. I didn't follow the spinoffs as much as the Original Series. And yes, he was my second favorite Klingon after Worf.

  • The episode is "Blood Oath", basically 3 Klingons goto DS9 where they meetup with Dax, the 4 of them do battle with "the albino" who happened to kill the sons of the 3 klingons years ago, whom they swore vengance.

  • Kang, Koloth, and Kor (from the original series) were the klingons. Great episode!!

  • I remember all three. Koloth was too effeminate! Kor was tough, but Kang was the best of the three.

  • You know the guy who played Kor (John Colicos) played a villain in another series? He was the original Baltar in Battlestar Galactica. I agree 100% with your assesment. So did Kang (Michael Ansara) he was Kane on Buck Rogers.

  • The only other thing I remember about Michael Ansara was he guested twice on "I Dream of Jeannie." I guess it paid to be married to Barbara Eden at the time. I know he did a series called "Broken Arrow," but I never saw it.

  • Kor and Koloth were good as well. They all came back for DS9's Blood Oath.

  • 36:04 How cool is Spock? He doesn't even look as he nerve-pinches that guy.

  • Some serious GQMF'ing going on in this ship.

  • Wazzat?

  • Stardate... Armageddon. I love it.

  • When he is tortured, Chekhov sounds like a dying kitten. D:

  • I wonder why the Klingons were given dark skin?

  • What's your point? Would you question it if they were given blue skin? They're lovable rogues, in any case.

  • It made them look more alien on a low budget.

  • Alright, were somewhere between galaxies with out dilithium crystals dying. The End.

    Whut?

  • our, not out

  • No kidding. Where's the second part, right?

  • I find this episode a bit strange in terms of the Klingons.

As far as I know, a Klingon female is more fierce then the males. She would have turned Checkov inside out 10 ways from Sunday then field dressed him just for fun.

  • cuz girls r controlling so they arnt the ones being controlled duh,

  • well it is before they really established the Klingon... character I guess. it seems a lot of stuff in the beginning was a little trial and error.

  • This was 1968, and Gene Roddenberry fought NBC throughout the series on giving females equal rights.

  • She probably would have let Chekov do it: assuming he lived through the foreplay.

  • computer sounds especially silly in this one

  • the maniacal laughing at the end was insane!! lol

  • I think the torture device used on Chekov at 5:40 was also the Agonizer used on Mr. Kyle in "Mirror, Mirror".

No prop budget in the 3rd Season, I guess.

  • how come every episode seems to be about something/someonetaking over the enterprise?

  • Lot of pirates out there.

  • I so love the look on Scotty's face when he picks up that sword and then goes "you're a beauty!" LOL man he's like an eight year old boy!

  • Scotty is hardcore lol

  • the minute I saw the sword with red tassels I was like I just know Scotty is going to pick it up lol

  • Just get a broom and shoo it off the ship.

  • 38:47

  • 28:55 - sorry, keeps freezing on me

  • freeze at 21:41

  • Holy Crap! Checov! :O That is one very inappropriate alien.
