  • if the penalty Hell is forever, why didnt Jesus went to hell forever to pay this eternal penalty ???

  • @TheMessanjah The answer can be found in the book of Hebrews. I find that Hebrews 9 and 10 most clearly shows us why Jesus' sacrifice was so powerful.

  • Love this! Is there a Spanish version?

  • The bible is irrelevant in modern living: see the videos of:Hector Avalos (Ph.D. 1991, Harvard University, 1991, M.T.S. 1985, Harvard Divinity School, B.A. in Anthropology, 1982 University of Arizona) is professor of religious studies at Iowa State University and the author or editor of six books on Biblical studies and religion, including his recently published work, The End of Biblical Studies.

  • @lizazoon Then what is relevant?

  • @daddysapp1111 Apparently not the bible, That`s why Western Europe has become virtually pagan.

  • @lizazoon

check out Lee Strobel's Books Such as the Case for Christ, and Case for a Creator

or C.S. Lewis's Mere Christianity: where he set out to prove Christianity false using logic

  • @connortd I did , found nothing revealing to me

  • If we as sinners deserve unending punishment, and Jesus Christ took this punishment upon Himself for us, why is He not still suffering this unending punishment for us? Why was the punishment infinite for us, but finite for Him? How could a finite human being (the humanity of Christ) pay an infinite price in a finite period of time?

  • Just one last thing TheTruthCanHurt - Stay away form John MacArthur and those caught up in the error of Lordship salvation. they are modern day Judaizers who deceive many into mixing in works with the Gospel fo Jesus Christ.

Salvation is a free gift received by faith alone in Christ alone! Repentance is "literally" a change of mind that occurs when one places their faith in Christ for salvation.

  • @texbill: You have created a straw man argument regarding MacArthur. The evidence of true repentance - from sin - will be seen in the life of the true convert after he has placed his faith in Christ and been born again. That's MacArthur's message. Do you have a problem with that?

  • @TheTruthCanHurt - 98 times in the Gospel of John (The Universal Gospel) the terms "believe" or "faith" are used in regards to salvation....never once does John mention repentance as MacArthur defines it. MacArthur confuses "justification" with "sanctification". Salvation is a FREE GIFT...while becomeing a disciple will cost you everything.

  • I see on your profile that you went to Western Seminary! Dr. Radmacher is a friend of mine. I'm surprised that you sound so reformed & Lordship in your theology coming from that background? I went to Dallas seminary and pastor a Bible church in Idaho.

Also, I spent a couple of summer's doing evangelism in the favellas(Spell?) of Rio de Janiero ('98 & '99).

  • You call MacArthur a Judaizer?! Why? For supposedly adding "repentance from sin" to "faith" as prerequisites to conversion? Don't forget that repentance is just as much a gift of God as faith is, so how can you imply that he's adding law (what the Judaizer did) to salvation? Your application of repentance to what one thinks of Christ tells only PART of the story, and you know it. You are deliberately deceiving people, Bro.! We aren't saved from a lack of faith, but from sin and its consequences!

  • Great presentation of the gospel, except it is missing the key element of repentance. That's too bad. This is the height of "easy believe-ism!" Someone could say, "Sure, I'll 'believe' in Jesus to be saved" while they are not truly born again and experience the radical change that 2 Cor. 5:17 talks about. Conversion = faith + repentance (Acts 20:21). Faith can be "saving" if it includes repentance; if not, it's nothing more than the faith of demons (James 2:19).

  • You just don't see... you're still looking through carnal eyes and what your teachers have taught you... and that's ok.

    Peace

  • How is believing in Jesus Christ promise of eternal life by faith easy? What does "radical change" look like. If a man was sleeping with his step mom would he be changed enough to have eternal life? So you believe you can lose your salvation (Jam 2:19)

  • Dear TruthCanHurt - You have obviously been caught up in the error of Lordship Theology. to repent mena to have a change of mind. Repentance is part of placing your faith in Christ alone for salvation. You first have to have a "change of mind about whatever you were trusting in before. In Acts 20:21, "repentance" & "faith" are joined together by one article.

The problem comes when people re-define repentance to clean your life up! The Holy Spirit will do that AFTER you're saved.

  • ...Also, in James 2:19, the faith of demons mentioned there has nothing to do with saving faith...James says the demons also believe that God is one (the Jewish Shema) and trembled. James was dealing with cocky, lazy beleivers who took pride in their knowledge and monotheism that separated them from the pagans--but they didn't see how illogical it was to claim to be a Christian and then sit idly by and see no fruit produced in their life. At least the demons responded to the truth & shuddered!

  • Yes, repentance means a "change of mind," but the context will tell you what the object of that "mind change" is. There are many references of "repenting" tied to sin (e.g., Lk 5:32; 15:7; 17:3-4; 2 Cor. 12:21, etc.), while others seem tied to belief about Christ (or could be interpreted that way). When you get down to it, if a person TRULY repents in the way you only define it, they will be making Him Lord (He is Lord, right?), which implies a turning from self and sin.

  • texbill: MacArthur isn't confusing justification with sanctification. "Making disciples" = making converts (Acts 14:21), so your false dichotomy (i.e., "convert" vs. "disciple") fails. A truly converted person is a disciple from the git-go and will demonstrate being a new creation from the git-go too.

  • wow, many people misunderstand....

Relationship with God is what being "saved" is. Not magic words.

There is lots of mumbo jumbo out there about what christianity is, and good and bad people claim to be christian.

    It's the heart that matters.

  • God is a jerk. He's just like Darth Vader "Join me or DIE!". I'm like Luke Skywalker, "I'll never join you!" I believe in a powerful divine force and living a good decent life, but I don't see why I would have to say a specific set of magic words to be "saved". Have any of you Christians ever stopped to think that Christ's name wasn't Jesus? It was Yeshua! Christianity had it's time, and it was called The Dark Ages.

  • thecoyote23 man you need jesus i mean some of the stuff you is sayin is just isnt right dude jesus died for you and yes that was his name and still is his name hes the one that saved you from going to a place called hell cause if he didnt every single one of us would bein hell no way too escape.the only way to heaven is through jesus christ casehe paid for your sins and brother im gonna be praying for you and i hope you will one day understand what im saying!!!

  • Where is the big R you know Repentance. God calls all men to Repent and believe. To turn away from your sins. Not tell God I am trusting you. Show him in your lifestyle befitting repentance. Acts 26:20. This is also a gift from God. Acts 11:18

  • Actually, God told the Jews to repent, for it was them who were under the Old Covenant Law... and it wasn't so much to repent from sins as we think of it, but rather to have a change of mind / heart about them being right with God based on their good works and the Law.

    Peace be with you :)

  • So repentance is not for the New Covenant? That's odd? I thought I saw Paul preaching the need for it to Gentiles in Acts 20:21 and 26:20. And we see a summary of the result of Peter's preaching to Gentiles in Acts 11:18 ("So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life."). Hmmm...

  • Written in Love. "Why do so many believers hesitate to share the gospel with non-Christians?" Because they do not like talking about Hell just like this video does not. And then the prayer of salvation at the end with a dissclamer. Nice try! That was not the gospel. Prayer is not telling God what you are going to do. Prayer is making your request known to God. Philippians 4:6 And for confessing sins, asking forgiveness, Giving God glory that His will may be done. Matthew 6:5-13 (a model)

  • Preach my Brother.

Good News!!!!! This should make you so full of joy every morning and every day until Jesus Returns or we go Home to Him.

    Love you all IN CHRIST

  • I love this presentation! This was the same good news preached to me about 9 years ago through a tract a friend gave me. I came to trust Jesus as my Savior and the only way to God about a year after that. I'm going to post this on Facebook on FunWall so everyone can see this!
