Having had the Shoei Syncrotec 11 for many years my wife and I decided to upgrade to the Shoei Multitec. Well, what a disappointment, the wind noise compared with the old helmet is dreadful at all speeds. The Muiltec is marketed as the best Shoei yet, not the case. As we use Autocom another disappointment is the fact that is impossible to swap the speakers and mics to the new helmet because the cheek pads are too small, and by the way, very poor quality as the location clips are cheap & nasty.
Great review, I've just brought this helmet..it's fanstastic. Mine is the Japenese spec version which has a fully removable/wasable 3d liner and an extra vent at the back of the helmet. Strange that Shoei don't sell this version in the States or Europe.
I got mine today. I went for the Anthracite colour. The great thing about this helmet over every other helmet I've owned over the last 31 years is that it's the most comfortable lid I've had and you have good all round visibility. When looking over my shoulder I don't have to strain my neck anymore I can see quite well as to what is coming up either side of me. Ten out of ten to Shoei for this design and although I paid £300 for it, I think it was a good investment.
The Helmet is D ring straps not quick release
Do not like D rings.
Even cars have quick realease seat belts , not D rings seat belts.

@cardboardharley true, ifeel like the d ring strap is being overlooked, i HATE having to take my gloves off just to strap it up

@jgs36 The Multitech is a solid helmet. Everyone who picks one up loves it. Shoei delivers great products
