Wow, I use to play this game all the time. Great gaming system; I decided to go old school and bought the newly released "Federation Commander" based off of the old "Starfleet Battles."

Good times; they'll never end.

i love this game, the only thing i dont like is i wish i could turn off the sheild bars around the ship, make it more trekish. I also have the board game that inspired starfleet command, starfleet battles.

well just click on F10 (i think) and you wont see the shield around you're ship.

correction

F9 no detail, that mean you won't see the shield ring or anything, so you won't see where is you're enemy or anything around.

F10 is normal detail, that mean you will see the shield ring and what you have lock on.

F11 is full detail, that mean you will see all that is around you, fighter, ship planet, asteroid, but it can be annoying to have that much info on the screen.

well i play with the full detail, i dont want to lose all the full detial stuff, just the sheild rings... oh well thanks for the help!

the files is: FX1.BMP in the textures folder, don't know what that will do to the game.

here what i was told to do, i have no try it my self.

Deleting the image might cause problems, but you could just cut out the shield parts of the texture. I tested this (attached) file with SFC2 and it made the shields invisible, but still kept everything else from "F10" mode like distance and volleyinfo. I couldn't upload it as a .bmp, so if you want to try it ingame, just save it as a .bmp.

K, ill try that.. right know i cant do anything with SFC2 because i lost the CD =(. I thought i put it in one spot, but its not there anymore. Its got to be around here somehwere. Anyways, whats ur fav race?

you don't need the cd to play sfc op or eaw.

my fav race is the fed, i start playing the klingon and will try the rom later and see if i like they're ship.

on my pc i need the cd to play eaw.

my main fav race, is the Mirak (kzniti) because of all them missles (drones) , using them right means you can turn a small frigate into a ship three times its fire power. Then the romulans are my second fav, because of their plasma torpedoes.Using the gorn ancor, going in with forard sheilds reinforced, and four F-G torps, is a criplled enemy ship (using FFs up to a CL) . And with the heavier rom ships like their Cas, and Bcs means more fun
