great vid! interesting. imo, and yeah, i know there's a stringent company policy) but....by all appearances, he was easlily passing thru 2,000 agl, and STILL had takeoff flaps down. bit late gettin' 'em up, but no harm i suppose. there would also be an Airspeed restriction as far as, Cleaning up before passing say, 200 kias or so. still, awesome video. nice Res.
looks like he had 20 degree flaps set for Departure.......just above above tops of clouds ( 1 minute into climb-which was brisk btw if he got above the layers in a minute or so! what's that: several thousand feet per minute, yes?) you see him raise first degree, from 20 to 8, then, 8 to Clean. nice.
Nice video. You're right about the speed - they really do accelerate fast. I've only been in a CRJ 200, but it was still very fast. I found myself being pushed right back into my seat. :)
8 for long runways 20 for short. At 8 your ref is ususally 140ish, They come in real hot for that size of an airplane. The Canadians really didn't put much of a wing on it.
You know, I never really liked the way the CRJ-900 looks. It just seems oddly long, almost like it shouldnt be, although Im sure it is very comfortable....
the crj 900 is the best plane ive ever been on i went on 1 a few weeks ago and it waz so smooth no turbulance landing and take off waz perfect and quick i like the new delta but i gunna miss nwa
Very quiet actually, compared to the DC-9. The DC-9 has almost forty year old Pratt n Whitney engines while the CRJ has brand spanken new General Electrics that have a nice humm to them.
thats a runway 17 departure. i've been to GRR before on a DC9 and the diffrence between them and the new embraers or CRJ-900's is indescrible. check out my northwest videos too!!!! great video btw....i subscribed to your videos
that crj climbed out like rocket ship in just over a minute from wheels up to cruising... wow

those things scare me i was really worried when i got in my CRJ-900

Anybody else ever wonder what caused the CRJ's engines to make those whistling, "Whoo, whoo, whoo" noises?
I think I like the CRJ's the best. They seem reliable and solidly-built, plus quick and relatively roomie for their size.
