@flutefreak05 Thanks for stopping by. Well, that's Ian Anderson's style and you just need to develop the right embouchure for playing Tull and prog music. Try to reinforce the same note that you're playing on the flute by singing through the flute. I'm in the process of getting a few of Porcupine Tree pieces transcribed for the flute and I'll get them uploaded as soon as I get them properly rehearsed. Do you play the flute?

I've been playing for a while and I must say that Ian Anderson and James Galway were my two inspirations for picking up the flute.I did take some lessons when I first started, but after a while I realized that I do not have any sincere love for playing classical music so I started to focus on Prog Rock flute. Ian, in my opinion, is the most innovative and creative flautist ever in the history of music.

Whats going on mate? Thanks for the kind words. Actually Vander Graaf Generator is one of my favourite progressive rock bands and their former flautist and saxophonist, David Jackson, in my opinion is an extremely talented musician.

No, I don't really have the time to play in a band and I want to go to a teacher first because I am not good in non-classical genres.

It's good that you know Jackson... :-) I saw VdGG as a trio in January, without Jackson it was only "near" perfect.

Thanks for your encouraging comment. I have been playing the flute for almost seven years and my practice has been quite frequent,yet irregular over this period of time. So as you can tell, I may not be that good at playing classical music! As for this particular style, Prog.Rock Flute, I really enjoy playing Tull pieces and try my best to replicate Ian Anderson's flute sound. You know I've been a devoted Tull fan since I was only four years old!!!!
