  • Very balanced sensual, provocative and stimulating all at the same time! Powerful memories of dancing to this song and skating to this song San Antonio, Texas. I also remember how to do the dance, "The Rockin' Chair"!!! I would wait until Gwen started saying," MMMMMM" at 2:13 snd change from doing disco to doing the rockin' chair.....powerful experience. Also for us brothers, if you don't know how to treat a lady, she spells it out for you! I just keep playing it over and over.

  • WOW!! This is a classic. 1975's Rockin Chair by none other than Gwen McCrae. I remember dancin to this at family reunions in my youth. Especially the summer of 1975. Doin the bump and funky chicken. LOL Wonder if there is an extended version of this. The 3:20 is just too short for this funky classic.

  • "When The East Is In The House (Danger)" rap song from the 90s. I can't recall the correct artist or song title. But this track was sampled...

  • OMG I used to love dancing to all this! This song following Rock Your Baby used to just make me NUTS! I wish disco would come back - lol you would have LOTS of older people out there grooving on the dance floor again! There were better dances and dancers THEN than any other time I can remember.

  • I read somewhere that this was George McCrae's wife, the one who sang that 74 hit "Rock Your Baby". I think this was suppose to be a reply.

  • dis is da jam

  • This is the greatest. I LOVE THIS SONG....

  • First thing that came into my head was Chubb Rock's DJ Innovator... 1988... shit...

  • @JadedArtisan - No doubt, that song was hot!!! Of course he followed that up with "Ya Bad Chubbs" in '89 where Howie Tee used the Popeye sample. But this song also makes me think of Blahzay Blahzay's 1995 joint "Danger", which came out during the tailend of Phase II of the Golden Age ('86-'96)

  • Nice old time soul. Remember hearing it in Indy when visiting a cousin in the seventies. Something like 6-7th grade year. Song stuck with me ever since. Thanks for posting.

  • One of my favorite songs and George McCrae Rock your baby this was beautiful music, Music is gonna return to this honest music, MTV should have to go to court for rap music and pay familys money for kids harmed by its horrable messages and nasty disgusting This is soul music RAP was vulgarity to a drum machine It all but helped distroy a beautiful music and culture the black soul music beautiful melodys was distroyed by rap I think its comeing back and rap can Rap it up and MTV needs to pay fine

  • @wrasmussen88 Blahzay Blahzay- Danger

  • Listened to this song when it first hit the airwaves on Super CFL in Chicago. This song sounded great back then and it still does.

  • I like how this song just starts off with the goods, like you're walking in on a party already in progress. Most songs make you wait.

  • I agree. You already know what the songs going to sound like and it sounds awesome!!!

  • @chuobio -- Definitely, which is why its a party classic... thumbs up..

  • I love this song...I remember this song on one of my parents 8 tracks..singing it at the top of my lungs in the car.."let me be your rocking chair..just rock me away from here.."

  • awsom tune was just listening to some oldschool stuff and this one came up and im so glad it did its still one of my all time favorites thanks for posting you got good taste in music: )

  • One of the finest Soul tunes of the 70s.

  • Dangit...my wife's asleep upstairs, so I can't turn this song up. Man...I've loved this tune since I first heard it! In my opinion, this song is at it's best when played with some volume, and the bass cranked up high. I really like how "TheNewSoul" has brought out the drummer's high-hat to front and center...something that couldn't be heard over the radio back when this song was peaking in the mid-70's....nicely done!

Thank you much for posting this with great quality. Joel in Tucson
