I really like chinese, in fact, its my fav one. they have a very unike gameplay, and they seems to be weak, but their heavy cavalry totally owns artillery, light infantery, villagers and more, not to mention that the light mortars cost just 1 pop and its very cheap, however they can easily blast other artillery since they have very long range. also the flamethrowers are great against almost everything (except cavalry), once 15+ flamethrowers get into ur town, your fucked up.

Chinese isn't that bad really, they just are weak late game. But they produce heavy artillery right at the colonial age if you build the right wonder.
