Enough with the petty squabbles. The people who are trying to combat terrorism are doing it at this moment, and do it as a matter of duty to their comrades, isaf, afghanistan, and loved ones. The taliban are not stupid and they are still a threat to cosy livingroom-land. The kids who grow up in helmand see daily the horrors of war, but see that isaf forces are helping to achieve a better future. The bravery of our forces is so vital, whether fighting or rebuilding lives at the cost of their own.
When you join the army you do it as a job to defend your country, how politicians choose to use you is not in your control. Anyone sitting in their house in a secure country disrespecting soldiers should get of their fat ass and vote in the next election. Even better go to your nearest military base and take your point "deserves to die" up with them in person!
When you join the army you do it as an adult human being who can use his or her brain, logic and heart to see and judge what that "job" would entail.
Your objection is bullshit. As an adult human you can look at your country's repeated tendency to use it's military for terror and to facilitate industry and global Capitalism and see that it hasn't been about "defending your country" since 19-fucking-45.

I think that if we really care about combatting terrorism on an individual nation-state level, then we need to be more serious about looking at its roots... and not provide these terrorists with daily recruitment propaganda by having our boy's boots kick down families' doors at 3 in the morning.

so i come back to civil street and find that people like to make sure they can provoke any kind of PTSD out of a soldier, I think this is distressful , 15 years later and i am told the marine Buddies i used to know do not exist, if they were around i would call them and get support against organised crime that is trapping me in Sydney letting people seal my housing property.. the same old . send out the best so organised crime can continue to grow within countries..
