  • Nice video. Are this a strong machine? I like the size. Would like to use it for work in the forest. With a winch I guess it will be powerful :)

    Love Metallica too

  • any idea how well it would do with out chained tires

  • How does the Hawkeye perform while trail riding in the snow?

  • @l0lum4d - excellent :D

  • whats the name of the song

  • @thermon12 turn the page - metallica

  • @Julstrud just a tip...looks like its struggling a bit trying to push the snow up hill and you are causing A LOT of excess wear and tear, do yourself a favor and push it down...? if i had my xp 850 i wouldnt care to go uphill but like someone else said watch the heat buildup without low range and a the belt system..

  • @wikedws6 Yeah I know ;) I'm usually plowing it downhill, but just have to show Youtube that it is possible, even though its bette to plow downhill :)

  • @Julstrud hey what is the top speed of the quad?

  • @Julstrud thanks

  • We enjoy riding our ATVs long distance on the Hatfield and McCoy and Brimstone recreational.....1100 miles of trails combined....

  • YEAH NICE VIDEO, I HAVE THE SAME QUAD AND PLOW SYSTEM. I LOVE IT AND IS A NICE QUAD TO PLOW WITH. COULDNT ASK FOR MUCH MORE.

  • so how does ur hawkeye do without a Low gear? does the hawkeye need a low gear to plow? i got a sportsman 300 exactly the same rlly. it doesnt have a low. and my family says i need a low gear to plow w/o breaking anything.

  • @Mitymidgettohell naaa, i dont recon its necessary with the low gear, if its not to deep or heavy snow you will do fine without the low gear ;)

  • @Mitymidgettohell you dont need a low gear just remember dont pussy foot the throtle using high if you do the belt will slip just use high and run heavy on the throttle thatll keep the tires spinnin and the belt from sslipping causing heat and failure

  • hawkeyes are ok but id much rather be on a sportsman

  • at 0:06 is that a deer or a dog?lol

  • its a dog, but i can see why you're asking :p

  • * hawkeye. lol i like the " ha ha" part, that happens. i noticed my plows spings r too tight cuz sometimes when i hit something the plow wont tip forward. does that happen with yours? i do know how to fix that though

  • Heey, yes plowing is very fun. Well i haven't noticed the problem you are talking about.. but it shouldn't be too hard to fix ;)

  • hey dude, is the shifter on your hawkeye hard to move sometimes, like from forward to reverse you have to either rock the machine a little or pull it hard?

  • yep, thats right.. and here the other day my back-up starter broke..and the electricstarter doesnt work.. ahr!!! :(

  • @Julstrud Oh man, that sucks I hope that you fix it. I was plowing the other day! so fun!! :)

  • @Julstrud have you ever had any problems with your rear half-shafts? We had to get both replaced because they were shot at like 600 miles.

  • @svtman15 yeah, i think I replaced one of the rear half shaft couple of years ago, dont know the reason why it got broken..

  • my sportsman 300 does this. exactly the same.. yes mine does

  • u either need to loosen up the springs with a oil or lube or get new springs

  • @slickdespain Thank-you! I was going to loosen them up but i might try using oil or lube also. i don't think i need new springs because they're brand new, but thank-you very much! :D

  • lol nice plowing. i got the same hakeye same size plow and same brand and chains. i love plowing. so fun. i dont use the chains much cuz i dont need them unless the snow is deep. keep havin' fun dude! P.S. i got a winch 4 it too.

  • what size plow? and are u in awd all the time?

  • I think the plow is around 50 - 55"

and i use awd all the time yes..

  • k thx but ive heard its bad to be in awd when u are going pretty fast

  • yeah, you can feel the difference but when you are plowing you shouldn't go too fast, or at least i dont, so it isnt a problem.

  • how fast u normaly go? sorry for all the questions i just got a hawkeye 2 weeks ago and cant wait to get a plow and a which thx =}

  • i never drive faster than around 20 kmh ;)

    Enjoy your new ride!

  • he is in 2wd bc if u watch from 1:12 to 1:18 onley the back wheel is spining,

  • actually, itouchmark1590, the wheels in the back spin faster sometimes than the wheels in front, even if he was in 4wd.

  • hey how much do you think the plow and winch costs? because, i want to buy a hawkeye and when i can afford will buy a winch and plow.

  • eh i got a polaris sportsman 300 not hawkeye same thing though lol

  • nice, it seems to be very like my hawkeye ?

  • yes the only thing different is the name litterally and color>.> mines indy red but its awd same as urs the red hawkeye is 2x4 other than color its same thing

  • my winch was around 600 bux and a good plow can be between 500-1000 or you can make a real plow like me for nothing using old steel you have laying around in the garage

  • ya like mine that i made for FREE see it @ dirtbikerboy202

  • im going to get a video of mine pushing somthing soon ... no snow here yet form some reason ... i put it on the other day to push some dirt tho .. maybe ill push somemore dirt and make a video LOL

  • the hawkeye needs low range

  • sorry never mind i have a glaicer plow system #2......... but does urs go through ware blades fast if not to you you the pads and the sides to take the beating??

  • I'm not sure what you mean, but i'm pleased with the plowing system

  • has your plow mount bent yet, i have a 800 sportsman and it bent the third time??

  • thxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. how much does it cost to get someone to put a winch on?

  • I'm not sure because when I bought it we got all included in the prize.. but i dont think it is so expensive ;)

  • I am 13, how do u think that machine would do for me

  • I think it would be fine for you. This machine isn't too big and not too small. In spite of its size it is very strong :)

  • looks like you got one long driveway like myself..got a 650 kawasaki with a plow I built myself they sure are a lot of fun..nice camera angles..

  • yamaha is the best

  • not at all I had the Grizzly and every time I rid it, it stoped randomly in the middle of the trail. now I have the hawkeye and it hasnt let me down yet, so suck on that

  • omg... I have the exact same atv and my dad thought that mine couldnt have a plow on it :)

  • hmm, working fine for me :) But 4x4 is a advantage! ;)

  • thx:) about how much cm of snow would it be able to push before it starts to have difuculties?

  • it depends if the snow is wet or not..

but i would say about 25-35 cm (or more) if its dry snow, but when the snow is wet, its maybe 15 cm ;)

  • Hell yeah man I love polaris

  • Polaris is great :)

  • Thanks very much. It really helped a lot and makes me want to go with a Polaris. I really appreciate you putting it together. Nice vid.
