I have a 1997 chevy cavalier 5 speed. It runs great but the clutch went out. In order to replace the clutch back to normal to drive again, What all do I need to replace? ONLY the clutch disc? or; the disc, flywheel, pressure plate, and release bearing? PLEASE HELP ME! someone reply,..thank you

This is an o2E transmission which shifts like an automatic but on the inside it is a standard 6 speed with shift forks that move on computer command ,and that is a duel clutch pack that is driving 2 input shafts so as one gear is released by the computer the other input shaft is in the next gear and the other clutch is applyed. I rebuild these transmissions and they are different from anyother out there.

i always put a light coat of lube between rubber seals and everything they touch. this prevents a binding rippout when the initial movement begins. (before normal wear starts). ive seen that happen to an overlyclean main seal...

its not a clutch from a manual transaxle, its a hub assembly that contains a clutch pack (multiple friction and steel plates)

Walmart? They don't pay enough for real mechanics to work there. They hire people who don't know from a screw driver from their ass.

I don't know why everyone assumes they do alignments or major repairs.

If you took a car in there they will not tell you that parts are broken or worn out that the car is unsafe to drive. If the employee does they get reprimanded by management and or told they are not qualified. I seen people with worn brakes, Worn ball joints, Bald tires, Broken suspensions.

i think it'll last longer than a normal clutch. when shifting through all six gears each of the two clutches is only engaged 3 times.
