I'm pro-choice. Just for the fact of rape. What if someone gets raped and gets pregnant, or if they get raped and they're body isn't developed enough to have a baby? They're life is ruined because of a stupid criminal. Their body, and their finances. Yeah they could get adopted, but would you want to go through life knowing that you're a rape baby? Conceived while your mother was getting in fear for her life? Hell no.
@GenerationEXable Aborting an unborn child because you think they are better off dead than being adopted doesn't make sense to me at all. Being a rape baby is nothing to be ashamed of.
abortion is useful. if my condom breaks, i dont want a baby. thats why i used the condom. if i wanted a baby to blow a ton of money and time on, i woulndt use a condom. the fact that babies are a huge responsability for anyone to have makes them a burden, and if someone cant have that burden for some reason, they should have the right to get an abortion. and as far as this whole christianity doesnt like abortion, the bible is a collection of ezzagerations and lies written thousands of years ago.
@msherwood69 Just because someone is a burden does not give you the right to kill them. Contraception is not 100% effective. The only way to be sure you won't get pregnant is to abstain from sex. I never mentioned Christianity or the Bible - many people are pro-life for secular reasons.
@Starburks3 your not killing them, your preventing their existence. they're not conscious beings, they dont know what happens to them, and they dont feel a thing. it might be better than having to give the kid up for adoption, which results in a suprisingly high pecentage of disfunctional families.
@msherwood69 This is awkward because they do exist... so I'm not really sure what to tell you because that's a basic scientific fact. And can I justifiably kill someone that I knocked unconscious then? Or who is sleeping? Or in a coma? After all, they won't know what happened to them.... Adoption is always better than death. Just because your family may be dysfunctional doesn't mean your life is not worth living.
You're right. The logic doesn't make sense to say "Don't like slavery? "Don't get one." The grammar is horrible after all. I also have a correction for you to make your video more accurate: "The fetus growing in your belly"
@DrunkSamurai haha I'm horrible at grammar, so I really can't tell. And I hope you realize I was kidding about the whole belly thing, right? It was a joke....
What's the difference between a slave owner overseeing his slaves and a parent watching over their children? Sure, a slave may have intrinsic worth as a moral agent. Nonetheless, a moral agent must be a person and you attach yourself to the liberal idea of personhood. The same language used to dispel slavery is also used to advocate abortion.
@TheAccidentalFascist One is being watched so they can be forced to do labor against their will... while the other one is merely being watched. They're totally different. I agree that slaves are persons. However, they were not considered persons... just like the unborn. The language used does not advocate abortion. People once disagreed on whether slaves had value, but this did not mean there were no right answers. The absence of consensus does not mean an absence of truth.
A child is watched, even against their will (those rebellious teens) for their own benefit. Why do we discredit the child's will but not the slaves? Seems rather arbitrary to me.
@TheAccidentalFascist Faulty comparison, much? You're also assuming every child is watched and that they are being watched for their own benefit, which is completely false.
With all due respect, Prove it! If you think that any stem cell research facility is going to expose their secrets to the general public, if you are that gullible, maybe you should do some research on the subject at hand, Fetal Stem Cell Research. Thank you for your reply.
@gloriatalksabortion I'm not saying there is no research being done with fetal stem cells, but the percentage is very small and not nearly big enough to warrant a secret conspiracy to increase abortions. Obviously you have some deep-rooted hate for science or something, but you really ought to go to a few labs at your local university. I'm sure they'd be glad to show you what they do and where they get their materials. Scientists are people too, not just evil baby killers.
You know what you are doing is lying! Abortion is about victimizing women for having unprotected sex, for stem cell research. That the reason abortion is legal and I am sick of you Christians lying about it. You are to young to have any opion on this subject. Do some research on fetal stem cell research, then come back and tell the real story.
@gloriatalksabortion Do you want to explain to me how it is ok for a 13-year-old girl to be allowed to get an abortion without her parent’s knowledge, yet a 17-year-old girl can’t have an opinion about abortion? Thanks for your concern, but I am not too young and I am not lying.
@gloriatalksabortion With all due respect, you and all of the other "evil black market fetus store for evil scientists" conspiracy theorists are hopelessly misinformed...I'm at a major research university in the US with 50+ stem cell research labs...none of which use fetal stem cells. Today, the vast majority of stem cells used in research and treatment are from other, non-fetal sources. So please stop trolling about a non-issue. Have a nice day.
@gloriatalksabortion The fact of the matter is abortion is the intentional killing of human life and both the baby and a woman deserve better than abortion.
Good vid. I agree, that line of argument really falls flat in these sorts of arguments. Random question: What are your thoughts on situations where going through with the pregnancy threatens the life of the mother? I understand it's a small percentage of abortions, but making abortions illegal could ultimately put several thousand women each year at risk of dying without a choice themselves...I've always seemed to have trouble getting a clear answer to that question.
@IvelliousandValai Thanks:) Good question! Abortion is never OK. We have a moral obligation to do everything medically possible to save both the mother and child. If the mom chooses an operation to save her life in cases such as ectopic pregnancy, it's justifiable under the concept “principle of double effect” The death of the child is an unintended effect of an operation independently justified by critical necessity of saving the mother’s life. This is indirect while abortion is not. Helpful?
@Starburks3 I appreciate that response. Certainly the best I've ever gotten from a pro-lifer. My only concern is that in proposed legislation and such from ultra-conservative groups, that justification is non-existent. One group claimed that if there was any possibility of the child living, the mother should go through with it even if she had to die because the abortion was such an evil act that not even saving the mother was a good enough reason. Obviously I disagree heavily with such stances.
@IvelliousandValai I was not aware of this:/ That's just not right - having the unborn's right to life override the mother's is just as bad as the mother's right to life overriding the unborn's. I honestly wouldn't be too concerned about this legislation though, because there is no way that would ever get passed. Anyways, if you have any other questions let me know:)
Thanks for making this video, somebody needed to say it lol
