It'd be easier if you just set up a virtual machine and install a Linux Distribution there. This program is like WINE for Linux, just inverted, so some programs won't run, ya know.
@PivotMan255 That's not correct because andLinux runs a complete Linux kernel as a service. WINE is "just" an implementation of the Windows API. This is an essential difference because with andLinux you have a full Linux, including all core elements, under the hood.
@gigafide can you do a tutorial about running linux application in Windows 7? the tutorial you created about this is not effective in Vista and 7. the tutorial you made was created in WindowsXP environment and that maybe applicable only in XP. this is a favor dude.

I have Ubuntu on my computer. So I use wine to run Windows applications on it. but sadly neither of these methods are quite the same. Nice video anyways.
sucksx cuz u cant run this for 64 bit user and ima 64bit user and been trying 2 do this for a while i use virtual box cuz of the seemless mode but aircrack-ng runs slow when receving packets so its a lost for me both ways around i wonder if anybody knows how 2 fix that problem in virtualbox
@TazeTSchnitzel now i use virtualbox and run it seemless mode runs face being that i updated my ram and running a raid 0 config on my hard drives just one thing is if u want to run seemless mode in virtualbox be sure ur graphics card doesnt block it like nvida using FX
@TazeTSchnitzel i have a alienware m17x that came with a nvida 260m, when installing this card's drivers there is something with in the drivers called physx that is blocking this mode from working when i was installing these drivers over again i just simply left that physx out and installed the rest and worked fine dont know what other graphics cards have that can be blocking seemless mode but the info should help another
@TazeTSchnitzel in this case im runing ubuntu in vmware ive read some forms maybe could have been something diff named but anywaysz this was the issue and the result after was fixed i will look for the form again to get the exact name of this
Linux doesn't play mp3s out of the box? I'm sorry, but I don't want to have to jump through a million hoops just so I can get Linux to do what I want it to do. Linux sucks and all you fanboys can shut the fuck up. Everybody copied Xerox.
@iron888888 I personally use Linux. Mine was able to do everything "out of the box". Now see here is the issue with windows, if you want to get a good movie editing program it costs you around $500USD, unless you brake the law. Now in Linux, there is a community is near 20,000,000. With all these users a lot of them create software that other Linux users can use. Also we are not bound by law even before we turn the computer on.
Well, Wubi can be a bit confusing. While you can easily uninstall Linux (that you used Wubi to get) from "Add or Remove Programs", Wubi DOES run Linux on your computer. So it runs as a operating system, though installs and uninstalls just like a normal program. At least, I think that's how it works... So actually, yeah, this is a PROGRAM that runs Linux programs (right?) WITHOUT having to reboot your system and boot up Linux from Wubi.
You need to go into your KControl and network settings, than manually do the network config to your lan IP (to get it - it's start->run->cmd-> ipconfig-> first ip with 192.168.x.x - Put that in the KControl network settings). Restart, should be good to go now
i fix problem ... it not hard ... just enable sharing on your internet connection .i have ADSL connection and i share that to TAP-Colinux ... and restart computer ... now works cool ... easy ;) no more error
this is kinda cool but I'm thinking that looks really busy. the only thing i need windows for these days is for games and i would not want to run another windows manager of any type on that computer(i already have performance issues). i will stick to using VPC for distribution testing. nice demonstration anyhow.
I'm a huge linux fan but i would have to disagree, and agree at the same time, most linux applications do not take the full power out of the graphics processor unit because as of yet they don't have a linux dedicated high performance graphics cards, and the current ones are mainly directx of opengl native and linux cant use DirectX because microsoft copyrighted the software to windows. My point is if you run windows applications in linux they cant take control of many of the features of DirectX.
This is what I was looking for
Thank you

@JAYJAY1787 How amusing. On Linux 64-bit I can run 32-bit Windows Apps, but on Windows 64-bit you can't run 32-bit Linux apps? :P

Thanks, I had to do some minor changes for it to work on my vista, but great tutorial mate :D
Finally I can run Kdenlive on my computer w/o installing Linux :D
@burleymullins yes it is like a "Wine for windows"

so it basically does for windows what Wine does for linux?

@creepilycreepy1 You know the Video is 2 Years old heh ?
2 Years in the Linux Update World are 20 Years in the Windows World ;)..
If you are SMART enough to use linux, you can do a heck more than in Windows.
In linux you can control everythink !!!!!! Maybe with "a few hoops more than in Windows" but in WIndows you clearly can't control everythink !
And with the MP3 Codec, the only differnece is that Windows preinstalled the codecs....

@RockGodFuck NAHH.... linux is actualy shit...
Windows is obviously ment for coding grahics and GUI
just look at how good directx 10 is and the win32 API..
linux is shit and i dont care what the fuck you say back...
TheFricikinTRuth2 1 year ago
@TheFricikinTRuth2 Actually i know the win32 API pretty good, and if you would know it as good as I you never had say this ;)..
o.K directx 10 (by the way 11 is the newest version) is a windows spec.
IF you are a programmer you would preffer linux anyway..
Also you can create awesome graphics in Linux, BUT then you really have to know how to programm, and don't use any preprogrammed shit !
I think you don't really know what you where saying ?!

not true, this is inside the windows environment, wubi installs ubuntu onto the computer on dual boot.

wrong when you go to install 9.04 (maybe 9.10, but haven't tried it yet) you can choose to install ubuntu, kubuntu, xubuntu, or mythbuntu.
