  • muy antigua para mi yo tengo 24 años!!

  • I haven't seen this intro since the seventies. But five seconds into it, it all came flooding back. And I thought Robert Ulrich only appeared in Vegas in the 70's. Great theme and show. Thanks for posting

  • Really?? Jump THROUGH the window?? Seriously?? I never understood that, or the furious, monkey-like roof jumping...but, what the heck!

Loved this show as a kid! we were all SWAT team members in the playground the next day!

  • @KennyThrusts , What's to understand? the Jump through the Window to take them by suprise and Roof jumpling down the side of the building was to move fast and quickly and into position as quick nd fast as possible. they can't spend time moving slowly and waste time.... this was a great show as a kid growing up during the 70's I loved it.

  • i mean come on Sony. put out the remaining seasons on dvd already!!

  • remember listening to this on the car radio, nobody could touch the knob till it was over LOL, Thanks mom for not changing the station LMAO

  • @MrFrank1968 the disco version. i'll never forget it. also the small vinyl record in the sleeves you would get at kmart or the record store for theme songs. or what ever was popular at the time.

  • @uutooyu I remember them 45 rpm vinyls, had a ton of them...also remember loosing or breaking a lot of the center spacers for them vinyls LMAO

  • The one guy grabbed a sniper rifle. What a team killer.

  • One of the first victims of Blue Nosed Political Correctness when this was cancelled

  • That theme went to #1

  • Sometimes, typo

  • @idak, that would be correct, although it has its moments so

  • I remember as a teenager watching this show. Steve Forrester and many of the actors went on to act in other Arron Spelling shows. Too bad SWAT was really a bad show that spawned many local police to emulate them with SWAT teams that in some cases were a waste of $.

  • IF YOU KNOW THE SEASON SERIES 2 ON DVD LIVE IN ARGENTINA MY MAIL IS ADRIANMDMOYA@YAHOO.COM.AR

  • Amazing show, made me wanna b a cop as a kid, which i am now

  • @tdb94tim I bet its not as exciting as the tv show my friend and with lots of bullshit paperwork.

  • ten film jest dobry dla 12 letniego murzyńskiego analfabety z bronksu

  • I can't express how supped up I was when this aired in 1975. I was 10 years old and I thought I was a cop. That's how good television was.

  • @Baltimorehop If you're not a cop now, what are you?

  • Back in the days of cool cops you could believe in,why can't real life be that way?

  • This show helped launch the careers of Robert Urich (Vega$), and Mark Shera (Barnaby Jones), as well as the end of the career of Steven Forrest.

  • Comment removed

  • they should've used this song for the remake it may have helped the one that stunk up the movies, lol

  • Lol! Regular duty uniforms consist of department issue .38's, yet once in tactical gear they carry 1911 .45's.

  • for special forces, swat, military and even disaster relief supplies like the pros use check tomssuper.dealcenter.us and search for out in style.

  • All the best TV series theme songs were from the 60s and 70s, no doubt. Today, a lot of TV shows don't even have an opening sequences like these.

  • one of the best show next to Emergency

  • swat not working as

  • this theme was use on the movie i should they cool make the serie again xD

  • EXCELENTE**********

  • Awesome theme song for the SWAT theme :D

  • they'd never use long rifles for this kind of operations. Carbines, smgs and shotguns are favoured.

  • @AAV47 , it was made 30 years ago...

  • @bigrob981 Well, even back in the day the MP5 was new and popular. Tv shows are so flashy and inaccurate. That's why I don't like hollywood action flicks :( They look worse than cartoons.

  • @AAV47 , since the TV show was based around the creation of the LAPD SWAT unit, why would they use weapons that were not used by SWAT. In 1967-68 SWAT members had to purchase thier own gear, they were using .38 caliber revolvers. Not only did they have to request to use the Colt 1911, they had to buy it themselves or wait for one to be confiscated. Since most had been trained in the military on Garands,M-1 carbines or even M-14's the M-16 was a small lightweight rifle.

  • @bigrob981 Damn. that sucks. sorry I didn't know. Sounded like quite a pathetic unit then, but special police today are armed as well as army special forces....

  • @bigrob981

interesting...alot of people don't know that the FBI and the secret service in their early days didn't even carry guns! ANd like you said, most police depts in the 60's and 70's only carried .38 caliber revolvers. police were so out-gunned in those days, which is why they called the west coast the "wild west" back in those days!

  • 0:51 = Batman

  • SWAT é bala na agulha fio....

  • even though they were pigs, it was a great theme song.

  • I kinda like their black icecream-truck... :-)

  • É galera... recordar é viver

  • BTW, do we agree that the movie was relatively crummy?

  • lol @ rod perry 0:49 best introduction to a character ever! who could top diving through a window!

  • Man, i came across the complete first season dvd series. Man i opened the floodgate of memories. Back when tv made good qaulity family entertainment .Not like the crap you see on tv today. Thanks for the upload

  • This theme was so cool they released it for sale. I remember the show started out a big hit then burned out. The show does make you wanna be a SWAT cop and the LAPD SWAT team is BADASS!!!

  • @tonywallacess45 , SWAT became a common feature of many cities after that L.A. shootout with the Symbionese Liberation Army in '74 The song was a hit, too.

  • I liked the guy that crashed through the window.

  • man, dunno why, everytime i see that i laugh my ass off

  • hut hut, hut hut, hut, hut hut, hut hut

  • Great show canceled to pc bs!!!

  • I agree with strikerboy101

  • Child hood memories, I use to have the theme song to S w a t and Barreta on 45 LP ABC records.

  • one of my favourite´s shows from my childhood!!!!

  • I used to fight with my dad to see this program.

  • Lembrei do meu tempo...êta mais tinha bons filmes na tv.

  • This was my favorite show when it first aired and then the network cancelled it because it was too violent. I was very sad :(

Does anyone know if there were any plans to release the second season on DVD?

  • it is on DVD, Can't be sure about Which Season but.....Saw it for Sale @ Sam's Club!!!!!!!! you may want to check with Your Local Store!!!!

  • I remember one time when deploying his men Hondo said the following: "TJ up on the roof! Street, Luca, you"re with me! Deke! Draw their fire!" Figures, let the brother get shot at LOL! I guess it was because Deke was fast! And who the hell was driving that van?!?!?

  • george w bush drove the van cause his gay

  • his gay or hes gay i agree hes gay

  • When I was a kid I thought this was the coolest thing ever. Now that I see it, it's not quite as cool as I remember. A black spray painted, top heavy bread truck is not what I would consider cool.

  • I know what you mean. But the truck was a converted UPS truck delivering butt kickings to the bad guys.

  • @hanoc101 you 're point on @ that, when swat deployed, they kicked some serious butt.

  • "top-heavy bread truck." - Good stuff!

  • take me back to childhood

  • You said it jazzlady40...

  • No Anti lock brakes on that truck and they don't even cover each other when entering an occupied structure. haha! Still good theme to bump uglies too!

  • Besides Hawaii 5-0, SWAT is also another tv theme song that makes one's andrenalin flow. Similarly both themes are brief and catchy. But I do agree with you that H5-0 is the All time high and fave!

Even the late Jack Lord has a bit of pierce brosnan's image. Steve Macgaret only have boyish charms not enough to motivate one's thrill !

  • rofl ^^ wie kommt der aufs dach das er sich runterseilen kann? hahaha

  • if only they had more shows like this on TV today.

BTW, what song is that in the video?

  • 'Theme From SWAT' - Rhythm Heritage, about 1974

  • que bien

  • mi piacerebbe poterli rivedere questi telefilm ma dove?????

  • I saw this TV serie, when I was a child.

  • good times good times

  • Disco funk/ Tower of Power/War jam session -

    Awesome.

  • lol i love the music

  • 1337....

  • My dad told me about this shit so I checked it out. Where do I know the name Robert Urich other then from this?

  • Robert Urich: likable star of tv series Spenser for Hire and Vegas. Regular player in many a made for TV movie in the 80's and 90's. Sadly, passed away from a rare form of cancer a few years ago. That particularly saddened me. Urich always struck me as a decent, down to earth kind of guy; I was especially struck by his attitude and insights when he initially thought he had licked his affliction. He is missed.

  • swat awsome team

  • lol, that is some funny old 70's bullshit, them getting wooden rifles when m1's were available lol

  • LOL in nowdays we got full protection in SWAT

  • yeah true that...

  • I thought Robert Urich was a cutey. It is too bad he died too young. I was pulling for him through his fatal bout with cancer.

  • you tell it was cheesy( in the good way)

  • they should show this on uk tv

  • Man, I used to love this show back then. There was a guy named Mark on there, same name as mine and I'd always pretend I was him

  • TRUE DAT!

  • love that funky 70's porn music

  • Have to say it's ordinary compared to The Professionals

  • antiiiigo

  • That was so funny but so sweet at the same time

  • SMASH, through the window....so cheesy it's great.

  • wow

  • who drove the SWAT truck??

  • Shaft

  • it wasent shaft fool.

  • Lol yes it was. Or was it Mr.T? I pity you fool!

  • Why did the brother have to go through the window. But that was best part of the opening.

  • Yeah :S i dont think real swats would do that...

  • I dont think so either. But it would be cool if Family Guy did a opening like this.

  • he is cool!!

  • which one are we talkin 'bout?

  • 2nd man

  • Robert Ulrich was a bad mofo. May he rest in peace.

  • Nice seeing Robert Urich in his heyday. He died too young.

  • Here in NYC, this show was on after Starsky and Hutch on ABC. I can't remember what night but it might have been Saturday. Yikes, I was young then....

  • THE REUNION OF SWAT 37 YEARS

  • OMG! What a flashback to the good old days! Its a wonder they didnt flip that panel van over the way they went around that corner LOL

  • spammer!!!

  • SEND THEM TO Garfield, New Jersey.....

    Reggie tells me "UNDERAGE-PROSTITUTION" AND

    Crack-Drug Pushers HERE!!!!!

  • ...so whats wrong w/that?

  • HA HA! FUNNY!

  • James Coleman's frozen mid-air still shot in the opening credits might be the coolest shot of any actor in the history of television. I remember doing this stuff off my deck in the early 80's.

  • I agree 100%.

  • I grew up with this show.....shit hot!!!

  • I love the Original SWAT!!! Cool show & loved the music! Nothing like wathcing the old TV shows, most of today stuff, sucks!!!

Get SWAT on DVD all the seasons are avaible....David

  • i like swat!

  • kamrudeen kaka and sukkur masi at garden east jamatkhana having chakkar with each other. after kissing each other they had a cheap bunkabab and then they sit in mini bus and went to bhaijan chowk and both of them killed each other. so this is the end of the story

  • kanker david -.-

  • Repeat after me. Todays TV sucks.

  • too dayyyzz teee vvee sssuuu ccckk sss

  • At 46 the black guy jumps through the window, hops up and aims his rifle. If you look carefully, you'll notice the guy jumping through the window rolls to the right is the stunt double. the actor popped up to the right to aim his rifle.

  • Yo, godanp, who cares if Rod Perry didn't do his own stunts? Deacon Kay was Hondo's main man. He was the best character on the show. Perry came back in 2003 to play the role of Deke's (LL Cool J) father in the movie. And guess who drove the command vehicle?

  • the answer to that question is biff.....steve forrest...lol

  • 水曜スペシャルで川口浩がジープに乗って出発するシーンで使われてました。この曲かっこよかったなあ。

  • And the Brazilian police force was trained by Grape Ape and Popeye, Explains why they throw bananas and dance around singing about Spinich ! Those Goofy Brazilians they make me want to grow poppys and smuggle coke !

  • Just to Let all you Americans know that SWAT is trained by BOPE - Brazilian Police Special Force!

    BOPE Kicks Ass!

  • You fail. L.A.P.D. SWAT the first in America got their training from the SAS, GSG-9, and GIGN. I looked it up and didnt see anythin bout BOPE.

  • Everybody get's their training from the S.A.S. The U.S. Marine Corps, S.W.A.T. ect.

  • LAPD SWAT is probably the only police SWAT team that shares tactics and training with DELTA force. Best SWAT team in the country. I'm not sure if FBI HRT is better but its close.

  • @tonywallacess45 Philly PD patterns after British SAS and have trained with Delta force. FBI HRT??? give me a LA or Philly first.

  • @Scharfschutzen1 I had no idea Philly was so High-speed. We agree that LA is tuff though. Being a soldier I lean towards anyone with a Delta background. Of course they are patterned after SAS. I think we can all agree that SAS is DEATH!!!

  • receb

  • Show....Um dos melhores seriados da Tv brasileira.

  • Excelente serie y su tema musical de los mejores.

  • MOST KICKASS THEME SONG EVER!

  • I have an MP3 of it, which I am currently listening to.

  • Damn straight!

  • Greatest theme song ever.

  • I meant bad ass..duh

  • That's one bas ass intro to a TV show

  • Wow, our uniforms are so different, so interesting how they've changed over the years. The SWAT team started in the 60s, now we wear balaclavas, gas masks, PASGT etc.

  • Yeah, and SWAT is waaaaaaaaaaaaay COOLER now! Balaclavas pwns!

  • Yeah, but balaclavas aren't there to make us look good (although we do look rather extraordinary lol jk) but they're there to protect our faces, they're cut resistant.

  • Yeah, I know, hehe. Yeah, my dad is a officer in the swedish SWAT (Piketen), so I'm really interested in special forces around the world, and every team in the world uses balaclavas, and I love it, cause it looks professional and awesome! ;) Btw , it's cool to talk to a real SWAT! :D hehe!

  • your'e on a swat team? oh and i looked at ur channel(rise against rules man)

  • Slick and funky song. Over here in the UK, they used to show this in some parts of England very late at night, after 11pm.

The intro reminds me of a '70s Brit action series called The Professionals.

  • I remember seeing the UPS truck making deliveries as a kid and asking my mom where the S.W.A.T. guys were.

  • heard they just raided DMX,s place in arizonia they called SWAT IN TO DO THE RAID ,SO COOL..

  • All I have to say is get ready because the

70s are coming back. There is a new show premiering on CBS?? this summer called "Swingtown" set in 1976 about, well, swingers. I, myself, am writing a series that is set in the 70s. Call it cheese, call it what you will, but I remember back then watching shows I loved EVERY night. Now, my faves come on only on Sun., Mon., and Tues. nights. And none of them are reality shows!

  • most of the people that have seen the new school swat have not seen the tv show swat. everyone knows the old school swat is the best.

  • No,the SWAT movie that came out in 2003 (I have a copy of its DVD) is total crap.Samuel Jackson was badly cast cause the original Hondo Harrelson was white, and Colin Farrell as Jim Street is a poor imitation of Robert Urich. Worst of all,the reason I bought the DVD was for the SWAT theme, and it's NOT EVEN THERE!!

  • I did the same thing for a song on "The Breakfast club". Hahahahahaha

  • cmon you guys yall knew ya wanted be like them

  • Great Old School Show..........

  • The first season was great but the second season sucked!

  • This tv show looks good for so something from the 70's. was the S.W.A.T. MOVIE that came out a few yrs ago any good?

  • CORNY!!! LMAO xD

  • Back when this series aired it offered viewers something a little different from the typical cop series they were accustomed to watching (for example "ADAM 12" or "The Mod Squad").

The opening song from SWAT was being played on radio stations and the dudes in the series were running around with weapons other than the usual pistol or shotgun.

  • By far the best youtube comment ever, I can't stop laughing

  • Way better than CHiPs. Paramilitary groups are the best!

  • Wow!!! This was one of the best cop shows around. The other one was The Rookies. That was good to.

  • cops this gung ho , don't exist anymore

  • Best cop show ever!!!! plus the song, just makes u join the force even if u dont wanna be a cop.

  • imsaulgood- lmao that was an amazing comment. seriously i am forever in your debt just for having read that

  • Im speaking in a more literal sense xD

  • imsaulgood: Dude, that's one of the funniest comments I've ever read on YouTube.

  • that seie is the best......

  • This was the show and the Theme show song back in the day.

  • Remakes suck. Consider this...in the movie S.W.A.T, the team is sitting round a table in an establishemnt, eventually they all start humming the S.W.A.T tv show's theme song. A show made in the 70's with characters such as Harrelson, Kay, Luca and others which parallel the movie's characters. What kind of moron thought this sequence out?

  • ENOUGH

  • This show and Emergency! were my favorites to watch when I was a kid. It's great watching a show where men act like men. Must be why we women can't find any manly men these days....no good role models anymore :-) BTW....is season 2 out yet???

  • And just what IS your definition of a 'manly man'- Tony Montana from 'Scarface'?

  • A "manly man" takes control of a situation and is not afraid to make decisions and, if they make a mistake, they aren't afraid to admit it. Alot of tv shows these days show men as wimps and cowards who are afraid to take control and their girlfriends/wives (whatever the case may be) has to step up and take charge. And the men are portrayed as idiots. I don't believe they show men to be as they should be, those who are decisive and take-charge kinda guys.
