To Planned Parenthood, its supporters, and those who opposed the Personhood Amendment - where did this Amendment STATE the following:

1) no woman with a life-threatening pregnancy would be able to get the care she needs?

2) the criminalizing of common forms of birth control such as the pill and IUD?

Planned Parenthood Federation of America is on record as having said this.

Answer: these things were not in this amendment. The people of Mississippi were lied to, plain and simple.

@2013cowgirlcutie Wrong. most contraceptives work by preventing eggs from attaching to the uterine wall (which is when pregnancy actually begins, not at fertilization). So yes, this law would outlaw most safe and effective forms of birth control.

@Styxhexenhammer666 The people behind this bill know it's unconstitutional. They were banking on a legal challenge that would bring the issue back to the supreme court which, in it's current state, would probably overturn Roe v Wade. They're not gonna stop either.

Pennyroyal is dangerous stuff! I'd prefer women be under the care of a medical professional than having to resort to using that stuff if they're faced with an unwanted pregnancy, which is what will happen if the fundies have their way.

The Roe V Wade decision was made without consulting experts from the field of embryology.

If abortion supporters and the pharmaceutical industry had been more honest all along, such things as this Amendment 26, recognizing what has been observed by developmental biologists, would not affect their industries. There would be no cause for their worry.
