Astublief zeg ... opletten met de feestelijkheden bij de verbranding. Met alle respect vo doe mensen ... maar de heksen zijn hier bij ons in Beselare echte folklore ... en natuurlijk weten wij ook dat er vele onschuldigen de verbrandingsdood stierven ... maar dat wordt in de stoet dan ook vermeld!!! Like the first poster (and I don't speak German), I am not sure if this parade is pro- or anti-witches. I know that I, for one, would not be gleefully doing a dance ring around a burning witch effigy. All-in-all though, I am enjoying watching this series of videos. Thank you for posting them. Now, on to Part 3...

It's Dutch, not German but that's Ok. It's kinda ant-witch. This is the church who's celebrating the burning of witches a long time ago. It's like a party for the people of the town but they don't understand all the bad things and suffering from that period.

Nice to see the children being brought into the craft by whats seems to be great teachers. As it was said in old days, the witches and guests always talked about the last sabbot and couldnt wait till the next. Great fun was always had. Great history re creation, nice video.

was it pagans or christians that do that parade o.o wasnt sure if it was in honor of those who died or something against 'witches'. Also I have to say those where some pretty cute witches in that cage thing lol :P (no offence intended)
