on the title screen it calls the planet 'zebeth'....but everywhere you go people call it 'zebes'....why is that??? something to do with the translation from japanese to english???
@kurojin97 Both are correct, it's pretty stupid to argue on which translation is "most correct" - the transliteration is "Zebesu", which is just as close to "Zebes" as to "Zebeth".
Same with the infamous "L vs. R" debate, by the way - a name like "Kuro-do" can be both Crawd and Claude, although I personally think the latter looks much better.
Internet idiots are the best idiots, don't you agree? Flag them if you agree.

Some have noted that the change in the music at 0:38 symbolizes remember what you've been through and that you can make it (and that it was added to the US version, which I don't know). Another take is that it makes the escape sequence heroic, since you are, of course, the destroyer of Mother Brain. Either way, while a bit happy and 80s, I like the song quite a bit.
That timer shocked the freakin' crap out of me when I first beat Mother Brain. I wish that they'd bring that back for some of the more modern games. Prime 2 was an awesome example of that.
Its that kinda music that says "Congratulaions! This is your time, you've gone a long way for this and now you've earned it! You can do it!", just motivational :D
My stepfather R.I.P was paralyzed and beat this game without the normal use of his fingers. He loved this game and it brings me back to good times watching him play. Thank you for posting.
@chevellegirl7 I'm calling you out on your fucking bullshit, chevelleman. You can't beat this game without the normal use of your fingers. What did he use; his dick? Hahahahaha.
@Dannynelsonstinks I'm calling YOU out on YOUR being rude. It is possible to beat this game without the normal use of fingers. chevellegirl's stepfather might have used his feet, which is a feat to you, because you are unskilled at this game, unlike myself. I can do speedruns of this game and you can barely beat it, what a joke. You take your words back, you obese ignoramus. chevellegirl, I salute your stepfather in his honorable victory against this brutal game without the use of his fingers.
@Dannynelsonstinks Even so, it's still believable. The man could use his left foot to control the D-Pad by just small movements of his leg. For the right foot, the same aspect could be used to press the A and B buttons. He most likely mastered this technique and beat the game with MUCH practice. Besides, chevellegirl never said WHERE and HOW he was paralyzed. Also, she didn't mention him doing impossible stunts while paralyzed, such as getting all the items, a speed run, or no deaths, etc.
@Dannynelsonstinks I honestly could care less what you think of me. At least I'm not repeating insults/arguments from previously made posts. I may be gullible, but I'm pretty sure nobody cares.
@Dannynelsonstinks We should BOTH just silence ourselves and listen to the nostalgic music. The both of us retorting (not retarding) back and forth makes us look like titanic ignoramuses.
@RinkuChan44 I'm pretty sure you're projecting onto me. Which implies that you don't know what it means. I'm pretty sure everyone knows what an ignoramus is.
@Dannynelsonstinks I absolutely abhor arguing on the internet, especially when this isn't even a healthy debate. I may have been the very cause of argument in the first place, but that was because of your unkind statement to someone who may or may not have been lying, which aroused my indignation. You could have simply left it at, "I don't believe you, chevellegirl." But instead, you go bashing her in for such a statement. Please, for the sake of peace, don't reply to this and just stop arguing.
@RinkuChan44 Stop being a hypocrite. You are responding to me, too. If YOU abhor arguing on the internet, then stop. I do not abhor arguing on the internet. Unkind statement? It was not unkind. It was simply me stating that someone is lying. That is what I believe and will continue to believe forever. Are you a sockpuppet of chevellegirl7? Please, just stop arguing with me.
@Dannynelsonstinks , I really hope you arent that evil. He could not walk , had wrist use but no finger use. He laid a bean bag table on his lap and since you can only push the fingers back so far he could push down on the buttons to play. You try not being able to do much of anything for years and with that kind of practice and some patience you can do anything. He beat Tetris as well. which i still cannot do. He was a great man, you didnt know him so STFU loser.
@kissapoikanen think it's meant to start off freaking you out that you could lose it all in an explosion of doom, but then switches to make you think back on how far you've come, as if to say "you made it this far, don't let it end in defeat, keep running!"
The reason that part isn't in Zero Mission is because it isn't in the Japanese version of the game. For whatever reason, Hip Tanaka added a new part to it when it was released in the US.
@Steelix100 It kinda took away the whole threat of "Oh crap gotta get the hell outta here now!", and it sounds happy, and also like it came from Kid Icarus. Come to think of it, it sounds like the Underworld theme from Kid Icarus.
