2:15 theres a missing scene between this and the dancing belly, he goes out talkin with the secretary and the last scene before this one is a close up of on the golden button inserted in the door to remind of the bullet stucked in ther navel.
@Hecatean well actually the scene doesnt allow her to dance so much, but her arms r weird n her shimmies doesnt have precision... but her way to leave scene is like a theater dancer i guess. My technique is better, hehehe. I have danced for a soup opera n u know... the dance is not important at all, just how u look in front of a camera. It was a nice experience but it hasnt anything to do with REAL dance. Sorry my crappy english.
@AngelaPlant666 I see, they probably just gave her a quick crash course before filming then. I imagine back in the 70's actors who 1 can act (which Sautoy certainly can I've seen her in a few things) 2 are blessed with looks and 3 can belly dance would have been few and far between.
@Hecatean Sadly, I think she's pretty awful. She looks like she had about six lessons; her movement is stiff and she has no feel for the music at all. Compare to the dancers in From Russia with Love, who were professional dancers.
@TandavaShakti They probably couldn't find anyone who could both act and belly dance, (few and far between in those days I expect) so they had to prioritise acting ability and just leave the viewers in the know witht he impression the character was a bit of a rubbish dancer.
@Hecatean Yes, you are probably right. It would have been better if they had given her fewer movements that were tailored to what she could do well. Take, for example, Eartha Kitt dancing to Usku Dara -- she does only three or four movements, and her hip range of motion is very limited, but she has a terrific feel for the music and the bellydance moves she does are authentic and well executed.
The guy who has the rifle aimed at "his piece" is from Shaft in Africa....as a man enlisting Shaft on a mission despite Shaft claiming that he is "not James Bond."
saida actually comes after bond knelt down and began to kiss her belly, after the first kiss the camera cuts to the face of Said, who fulfilled his eyes open a moment before he closed his lips and smiles at hearing that the bond kissing his abdomen great! saida obviously did not think that bond widened so much, but does nothing to stop them!
Can someone please upload the scene where Scarmanga shoot Hia-Fat in his office coz it is NOWHERE TO BE SEEN ON THE worlds largest video document website???

Jag gillar scenen där James försöker att plocka kulan ur hennes navel och sen när han sväljer kulan.

@AngelaPlant666 How would you rate her dancing? Does she strike you as just an actor who had a crash course or as a seasoned dancer?

Love the comment at the end when Saida shouts out
"I'VE LOST MY CHARM" Bond replies "Not from where i'm standing" only Moore could have got away with that.

@ghostriderf8xzrr "poor is not stupid" I agree I didn't say stupid I say "Pwned" or "owned" means to be defeated or outwitted.
"you know one of 5 minutes and you do touch and kiss! of course he "reasoned" long, has started to kiss his belly"
I'm sorry I can't reply to that because (with respect) I couldn't understand that sentence at all.

@ghostriderf8xzrr That made no sense at all!!!! Learn some English if you're going to reply to English speakers!

I always did think that a bullet in a belly dancer's navel was a good idea, but a gold one removed like that is a bonus.

The whole scene in Beirut could have been cut if Bond had only thought to anaylse the bullet "Scaramanga" was kind enough to send!
Hecatean 1 year ago
@Hecatean But as I think we agreed previously, thank heavens it wasn't!
kokamoa 1 year ago
@Hecatean Bond himself said this was useless as a bullet. I guess Lazer (Scaramanga's bullets provider) didn't left his trademark on this one.
