HELP! Im getting my first high end camcorder and Im thinking HVX 200a, HVR z1 or Z5u, or something along these on the under $4000 mark. Any advice from the pros? I want to get in to advertising for promo vids, weddings, and such... 200A seems to have a unique clarity and lots of new goodies, Sonys have great color blend and warm tones... Damn. Tough Choices...!
Anyone know what the specific differences are between the 5U and the 5E? Not did it will do me much good since I just bought a 5U last month, but I'm curious since doing all my research I never ran across anything about the 5E.
I'm in the process of upgrading to my first 'pro' cam. I like the look of the Z5, but it is tape only and the external recorder is another £500. The Z7 looks nice but it still only has 1/3 chips. It has interchange lens but why not 1/2 inch sensors? I'm not sure overall which is best. It all costs so much, so I want to make the right choice.
this is it,the final answer of media for DV is SDXC! panasonic already support SDXC,there will be a SDXC recording cam come from panasonic,JVC will upgrade their SDHC recording cam to SDXC recording, and the 'slow motion' Canon will finally know what to do,next year early of 2010,i want to see sony, panasonic,JVC and Canon made their SDXC cam that record to native QuickTime file for FCP,they are either go with this or GO TO HELL,don't even mess with us anymore,WE WILL BUY ONLY SDXC CAM !!!!
so i just learned SDXC IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SDHC!!! Pretec will launch their SDXC card either later this year or early 2010,this is the time for sony to made a SDXC recording cam that record to native QuickTime for FCP! SDXC is the future media for HD camcorder and it gonna start soon! sony,GO FOR IT!!!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR????
if sony want to made money with their next cam, that's how:replace tape recording with SD recording, replace optional CF recorder with SXS recorder, and better replace CMOS to CCD too, keep the 20X zoom wide angle fixed lens, and the menu setting of Z5 is much much better than EX1,keep that ! but everybody complained the menu select/push wheel of Z5,very bad! why SD recording and optional SXS recorder? because prosumer will love that! even professional will like it! keep the cam around 4 Ibs or less!
sony should check this out, many people bought Z5 and paid extra money for the optional CF recorder, they want to skip tape and go with tapeless directly,so why don't they buy Z7? because Z5 is better,hey,20X zoom with wide angle fixed lens! so why don't they buy EX1? because it doesn't worth it! if sony can made their CF up to 2TB,i don't mind they made a CF recording cam with optional SXS recorder,SDHC is cheaper than CF and SDXC will be up to 2TB! can CF? CF is more easy to hold, how great !
without battery, shotgun mic,CF recorder, lighting equipment,Z5 is already 5 Ibs,with all of these how heavy it could be? a handheld cam shouldn't weight more than 4 Ibs,pany's HMC150 is 3.7 Ibs! because that's a SD recording based cam not a tape recording based cam, weight is a very important issue for event videographer, after 2009 tape will only make us looks stupid,if JVC can came out HM100&700 then sony can do better,we can't deal with tape no more,SDHC is today's tape,SDXC is tomorrow' hardisk
this is the end for tape recording HDV,sony did a great job with Z5 but this is the end, tape will only remind us walkman which we have to say goodbye, this is 2009,shouldn't we supposed to have fun with SD card already? after JVC HM100&700,you are SD recording or you are not, choose one.your camcorder can record to native QuickTime for FCP up to 35mbps or you are not, choose one. JVC tell us they are the pioneer, but if sony go with this then we know who's the boss, just bring back the CCD!
this should be the last chapter of HDV,it's time to move on,so where should sony go and what is the future of proHD? the answer is JVC's HM100&700 which is record to SDHC/SDXC up to 35mbps,with native QuickTime file for FCP,this is the tapeless recording everybody been waiting for,no tape,no HDD,no P2,no CF,no AVCHD,if sony don't follow this now they will have to follow it later,so don't even wait and see,no time for this and no doubt about that,SD card is the future, and let's get back to CCD!
and what camera did you film the camera with?

@Goldenboy0083 the letters "u" and "e" just differentiate the nationality. U is for North America, E I believe is for Europe.

@GanEdenAustralia But, you're wrong. It's not for Islamic countries, it's for Indie cultures. The Islamic people don't need super camcorders, silly!
DiazRulzU 1 year ago
@DiazRulzU Yes correct, but shpould the average Muhhamad or Iqbal spend a fortune on a Z5 just to remove the mechanics and replace with explosives??
