  • This better help me for my test tomorrow or else I'm doomed D:

  • I thought skin color is genetic?!

    Other than that, great video!

  • Great video. Simple but interesting. Thanks!

  • I don't have an anus... and frankly I'm deeply offended

  • Ignorant epidermis. So superficial.

  • The 2nd layer of the epidermis is stratum spinosum not lucidum

  • need to stop saying "aright" ... bordering speech impediment

  • Thanks again for making these videos available on youtube. They are wonderful study aids for my A&P course.

  • I see someone already mentioned this, but I believe that there is a confusion of Stratum Spinosum with Stratum Lucidum at about 26:45.

  • HI there ! What computer program are you using to explain this lesson ! I love it and wish my school explained things this way. It's all lecture with no visuals. This helps tremendously !!!!!!

  • i have a test on this tomorrow thank you sooo much

  • Good Video. I was just questioning about the layers of the epidermis. I thought it goes from stratum basale, spinosum, granulesum, lucidum, up to stratum cornium. You said lucidum instead of spinosum, so were you talking about what is lucidum or spinosum??

I'm not trying to be bombastic or something, but the science teacher gave us a paper in which it is drawn like that.

  • good run until the layers.

STRATUM LUCIDUM occurs in thick skin only. It consists of a few rows of flat, dead keratinocytes. Its cells are identical to those at the bottom of the more superficial layer stratum corneum.

** From deep to superficial it goes Stratum Basale, Spinosum, Granulosum, Lucidum, Corneum.

  • @skuazzie great point but why are you watching the video if you already know it?

  • @bizzeeboi simply reviewing before important tests. these videos are great for that purpose.

  • i wish my teacher was easy to understand like this she just briefly goes over the notes and hurries through the powerpoint and i end up never knowing what she's talking about :(

  • Just an addition, another barrier of protection, biological barriers such as antigen identification and macrophages, which protect against foreign threats.

I loved how you explained so easily the detail, and importance of the integumentary system! Thank you!

  • @reedcreek420

Thanks for the addition, I wasn't too thrilled with this video and honestly need to redo it. I'm glad this helped you

  • college student <3 lol

  • Great video!

  • @jwrath90

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad this helped you.

  • I know you must get a lot of thank you's but I dont think you realize how much things like this means to people. I hate physiology and its just one of the very important courses in my major. If it wasnt for this vid I probably wouldnt understand ANYTHING having to do with skin or hair- my prof is from russia and barely speaks english, and were expected to learn all of anatomy and physiology in a matter of 12 weeks!!! sooooo..., all in all, THANK YOUUUUU!!!

  • @Melissa341

I'm glad this video was helpful to you and sorry to hear that you aren't getting the best classroom experience. My class is 11 weeks so believe me I know what you are going through, it's a mountain of material to cover in a short period of time, hence these videos. Also thanks for the kind words, I'm again glad I have helped.

  • Do you have any other videos? You made this video similar to my lecture class

  • @theboys267

I don't have any other videos on the integumentary system but if you go into my channel you'll see I have many other vidoes on other topics.

  • I have a question. You never covered what keratinize really means. So what does that mean??? I always thought it was another word for protein but i am not sure. If you answer this question it will be really helpful because my anatomy teacher mentions alot about keratinocytes and i am lost when he does cover that type of cell.

  • @BabyloveAsian

    Check your e-mail

  • Thanks you! !!

  • the mistake was not that hard to figure out if you know the layers of the skin.. so NO BIG DEAL. It was a GREAT video.. thanks so much!!

  • @nickfizzle...i agree with you...he made a mistake there but otherwise an excellent lecture...thanks!

  • What book do your lectures correspond with?

  • wahahahah thank goodness dogs aren't tall!

  • hate to say this, but you made a mistake in explaining the epidermis. from bottom to top it goes stratum basale, stratum spinosum, stratum granulosum, (stratum lucidum) and then stratum corneum. when you first explained stratum lucidum it should have been stratum spinosum. and then u explained stratum lucidum as the second to last layer as well.

  • Great teacher! He's my teacher when mine is not available.

  • Wow a science instructor that makes his lectures easy to listen to! Thanks for sharing! Here's to hoping I pass tomorrow's test!

  • Very informative and easy to listen to. Thanks for helping us students out!

  • @LeadingFilly

  • These Videos are my life line. I am taking Bio 141 (A&P1) in college and the teacher I have for the summer is miserable. Basically I go home and watch your videos to teach me these lessons. so Far I have an "A" in this class and its all because of you. I plan on listening to your muscle lecture tomorrow for my test on Friday. Do you have anything on the respiratory system? I looked and could not find if you had a lesson on it or not. Thanks again for all your help.

  • @mrm8035

I don't have anything respiratory related up there yet but will get around to it in a few weeks. And thanks for the kind words and for watching the videos. Keep doing well in your class

  • this video is amazing!!! thank you so much, I will be watching your videos to help me study for my state board exam next month :)

  • @rajji28

You are welcome, I'm glad this helped.

  • Is the hair papilla inside of the hair bulb or the dermal papillae?

  • You are the best!!! thank for your help....

  • @Lizzy19881

You are welcome I'm glad this helped

  • you've got the strata layers in the wrong order, the Lucidum comes after granulosum, spinosum comes after basale

  • @starmate

Goodness gracious thanks for the catch, I am going to make a new video soon with the correction in there. Thanks again

  • Thank you so much for this.

  • @luckychester

You are very welcome I'm glad this helped
