@ecwjr3549 I don't believe they excluded non-Caucasian races intentionally. This is a chronicle of women in Western art. They could have included Asian and African art, but that would have broken the theme of the video. They simply followed an artistic theme, not a racial one.

We as a society place higher importance on novelty and style than we do on intelligence. People are so obsessed with aesthetics. Why can't they find it in airplanes which is both useful and buetiful.Just admire the complexity of it.Think of how much strenious thought and effort it took to put all those parts together. Yet people would still rather have more rspect for a picasso while scientists get swept aside. We basically just use scientists and we don't even say thanks.

It's not that people were more talented before and that's why the paintings are more realistic; it's all about what was popular at the moment. Many started painting more realistic pictures during the renessence period, but since then it has been done dozens of times. It's not wierd that people started experimenting to make something new and not so realistic. Even though many paintings today doesn't have as many details much of it is beautiful. Just in another way than the older ones.

I noticed that the artists tended to paint maiden/virginal faces at a 3/4th format and their faces are looking down.

while the marrieds tend to either look ahead or if they too are painted int he3/4th format. that they are facing upwards.

says something about society and how we tend to view virginal modesty vs married candor about things.
