It's good that you have faith in what you believe in, but try to be open minded. Just because somebody else does something different, it does not mean that it's wrong. God is within us and God is a feeling experience more often than not. Your feelings help you determine where you are in relation to where you are going. Tolle, Oprah and others aren't talking about heart burn or a latent desire to go to the mall.

sjet/all - what are your thoughts on interpretation of the scripture? I was raised in a strict environment based on beliefs taught in our church. I still hold to them,yet struggle with some. My wife loves to play cards. My daughter loves to dance. We were never allowed such growing up. This is miniscule, but controversy is timeless and interpretation of Gods word, forever a target. I'm not into cards or dancing.. don't see the harm in it. Interpretation across the board, challenges our beliefs.

The Bible says without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin, there was only one sinless blood sacrifice for sinful man, who shed his blood died and rose again, there is no other path to God, Heaven, etc. The Bible says his creation testifies of him so even those who have not heard the gospel have the witness of creation, so no man will have excuse on the last day when Jesus returns to earth. That is all I can tell you, no other blood sacrifice was made.

In Christianity, Worship of God is the very meaning of life. This is a problem for many people in the west, because we are so wealthy compared to the rest of the world, many believe we don't need God anymore. Therefore living a life of worship is seen as a problem, rather than a necessity. How sad. many people, because of being educated into imbacility, will never know the joy and peace of living a life of worship to the one true God, thankfully because of the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ.

If the Lord ever convicts me of that I will not cut my hair, but I seek the Lord as best as I know how through prayer and fasting and reading the Bible and I was convicted for teaching a class with men in attendance, however I have not been convicted by the Holy Spirit for cutting my hair. If you ever bothered to read the Bible or study it in context, you would know that the comment on "men's clothing" was a law given to the Israelites in Leviticus, and referred mostly to the wearing of priestly garments. Since Jesus' death on the cross ended slavery to the Levitical law, it doesn't apply today.
Second of all, the Biblical reference to women not cutting their hair was made by the Apostle Paul, and was a cultural reference for their time.
When I read the Bible I can get something completely different from anyone else. That's why I ask so many questions. When I ask questions that seem angry the anger is not directed at any one person-it is just my acute sense of frustration. I ask so many pastors and Christians to answer my questions and most of the answers are different. I am the type of person who wants that one on one bible study with a person who knows what they are talking about. I believe SOME of the bible but not all.

I am teaching not learning, and I am not teaching men, I am just teaching and this scripture is refering to women in the church and I am on the internet not in the church and I gave up an adult sunday school class I was teaching for this very reason, because their were men in attendance and the Lord showed me I was not to teach men. Why do you think it refers to teaching only in church? The KJV (as well as the Orthodox Bible) starts in 2:8 with saying that men should pray everywhere with lifting up hands, then in 9 that women should be modest, then in 11 not to teach etc.
In new translations 2:8 is changed to men should pray in the places to pray and women should not teach in churches. Which one is right? It looks like a modern day addition to the scripture to allow women teach outside churches.

Why are you shouting? Here's how. What does "by me" (sometimes written as "through me") mean? Does it mean "by worshipping me"? I don't think so. Christ wasn't selfish. He came to lead by example. By living a life like Christ. By remembering Christ's example. Through living a life as Christ lived. Compassion. Understanding. Empathy. Forgiveness. Love.

God has become one of the most misunderstood words on a small planet called earth. The reason why people oppose the concept of God is not because they didn't read enough in the Bible. They oppose because their Minds try to understand. It's in the Nature of the human Mind to analyse Things. But God is nothing to analyse. Oh, and i did read the Bible a lot. I began reading it, when i was a Child in a german Church. Today i know there isn't only one Bible and the 1st one wasn't written in english.

sjet/all - what are your thoughts on interpretation of the scripture? I was raised in a strict environment based on beliefs taught in our church. I still hold to them,yet struggle with some. My wife loves to play cards. My daughter loves to dance. We were never allowed such growing up. This is miniscule, but controversy is timeless and interpretation of Gods word, forever a target. I'm not into cards or dancing.. don't see the harm in it. Interpretation across the board, challenges our beliefs.

Well I really can't think of any scriptures against cards or dancing, the way I try to look at that kind of stuff is through the scripture that says to avoid the very apperance of evil. Correction he said no other gods not Gods. Which means they are not really Gods at all. But idols. I still don't understand why people who don't believe the Bible wants so badly to call themselves Christians, why not just say I'm any other religion (new age or buddist or muslim) but no everyone wants to claim they are Christians while not holding that it's precepts are true. No one does this to any other religion, whats the deal. I know, because they know Christianity is the true religion.

To think for one's self isn't going against God. To think for one's self is to use what God gave us - a brain. To question creation and humanity is human nature. There are so many wonderful good people in this world who don't deserve to go to hell based on not believing in the christian bible. I believe there is a source of life and that source is God. The Bible says without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin, there was only one sinless blood sacrifice for sinful man, who shed his blood died and rose again, there is no other path to God, Heaven, etc. The Bible says his creation testifies of him so even those who have not heard the gospel have the witness of creation, so no man will have excuse on the last day when Jesus returns to earth. That is all I can tell you, no other blood sacrifice was made.

In Christianity, Worship of God is the very meaning of life. This is a problem for many people in the west, because we are so wealthy compared to the rest of the world, many believe we don't need God anymore. Therefore living a life of worship is seen as a problem, rather than a necessity. How sad. many people, because of being educated into imbacility, will never know the joy and peace of living a life of worship to the one true God, thankfully because of the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ.

I feel that way because when I was a little girl my biblestudy teacher said that if you don't know Jesus then you will not have eternal life. I just don't understand why other religions want to claim they are Christian, if you don't believe the Bible and follow the teachings of Christ you are not Christian, just say I am New Age or I am (fill in the blank) and stop claiming to be Christian. You don't see Christians claiming to be Buddist and then saying but I don't believe the way they do. Why does everyone want to be called Christians when they clearly are not?

If the Lord ever convicts me of that I will not cut my hair, but I seek the Lord as best as I know how through prayer and fasting and reading the Bible and I was convicted for teaching a class with men in attendance, however I have not been convicted by the Holy Spirit for cutting my hair. If you ever bothered to read the Bible or study it in context, you would know that the comment on "men's clothing" was a law given to the Israelites in Leviticus, and referred mostly to the wearing of priestly garments. Since Jesus' death on the cross ended slavery to the Levitical law, it doesn't apply today.
Second of all, the Biblical reference to women not cutting their hair was made by the Apostle Paul, and was a cultural reference for their time.
Bible study in context is crucial!

When I read the Bible I can get something completely different from anyone else. That's why I ask so many questions. When I ask questions that seem angry the anger is not directed at any one person-it is just my acute sense of frustration. I ask so many pastors and Christians to answer my questions and most of the answers are different. I am the type of person who wants that one on one bible study with a person who knows what they are talking about. I believe SOME of the bible but not all.

I'm sorry to say that you will not find the ONE right definition until our time on earth is over. It's ok to look to others for general thoughts, but the ones who claim they KNOW it all, likely don't. I am a Pastor and this is not easy to say. I am teaching not learning, and I am not teaching men, I am just teaching and this scripture is refering to women in the church and I am on the internet not in the church and I gave up an adult sunday school class I was teaching for this very reason, because their were men in attendance and the Lord showed me I was not to teach men. Why do you think it refers to teaching only in church? The KJV (as well as the Orthodox Bible) starts in 2:8 with saying that men should pray everywhere with lifting up hands, then in 9 that women should be modest, then in 11 not to teach etc.
In new translations 2:8 is changed to men should pray in the places to pray and women should not teach in churches. Which one is right? It looks like a modern day addition to the scripture to allow women teach outside churches.

The word of God is the Truth! Further, this lady can use the bible as the source to disprove Oprah's counter Christian jibberish since she's open admitted to being a Christian on several occassions. She's only doing what a Christian should do in correcting a so-called fellow Christian on scriptoral misinterpretation. Now if you subscribe to a different beleif system, that's your choice.
