  • bravo bravo bravo!!!! The best live performance of this piece in youtube!!!

  • this is just amazing , to get this piece to that level takes so much work and dedication and of course talent

  • asian are so much better at everything cause they practice a lot n they love what they do

  • you doctor? -no-

    you doctor now? -no-

talk to me when you doctor

    lololol

  • Its not that because they are Asian that makes them good... its there lifestyle... There dedication to whatever they put there mind to, to make it an accomplishment, no just a hobby. To this kid guitar is his life no doubt, its what he knows, what he loves! No one can get good at anything less they show a true interest and absolutely love the music. My hats off to you sir, keep us happy with your love for the guitar.

  • fantástico!

  • He's 40 years old midget with face rejuvination surgery (:

  • einfach phänominal,stimmführung -tempo-differenzierter anschlag-

    dazu die abgeklärtheit eines wissenden,großartig!

alles gute und viele konzerte wünsche ich dir

  • not bad technically, it's clean, yes. very poor feelings though, this is just dull. i don't care if he's 14 years old.

  • I read the description in Chinese. This kid is 14 years old, a student of a music- affiliated high school. He is playing a guitar with model name of "Chen Zhi". Chen Zhi, of course, is the teacher of nearly all the famous Chinese girl players, including Li Jie, seen here on YouTube. The piece played here is a transcription of Bach's Sonata No. 6 in E for solo violin. Obviously, this kid is blind.

  • @wingklow The kid is not blind.

  • @hoaddy Thanks for the info. I waited for his eyes to blink or open. He did neither. Anyway, quite a task in memorizing such a lengthy Prelude. After the Prelude, there is much more to the piece. I was inspired by his playing, so I took out the violin and played the whole thing. Thanks for the upload and other uploads shown on your channel.

  • @wingklow The kid is not blind.

  • holly sheet...

  • Does he play standard tuning here? I have a score of this and G string is tuned to F#, which feels awkward a bit.

  • To what567: Do you play this work? Can you post it on youtube to hear what your phrasing would be and where you breathe during you performance? That should be interesting.

  • Perfect

  • Looks like Mr. Williams will have to practice his chops and be careful with the new kids on the block...All this kid needs is a Smallman guitar and he's set up for success!

  • sure this is a child? he has an unbelievable feeling for this piece *.*

  • wow what a great player. this is better then 99% of all players around will ever get, (including me obviously). not only technically: his fingers move like he at least played for 40 years, but also it is very very beautiful!

  • What a brilliant performance and by someone sooo young! I just replaced John Williams performance of this piece in my favorites with this young man's performance. Thank you hoaddy! Hope to see more from you soon.

  • if u wanna see this piece in a cool interpretation search "Carlos Perez" version. regards

  • sheet music anyone??

  • Does this child go to school??

Children should be educated to become well-adjusted grown-ups, not made circus freaks.

  • at least he has a certain skill!

  • he plays the guitar and gets more pussy than you what else would he need lol :)

  • Fantastic!

  • i need to rethink my music career

  • awesome

  • you're amazing

  • BRAVO!!!

  • well done i think i will learn thi version

  • Great! Matt in California

  • Truly Amazing!! Bravo!

  • envy, envy. He plays stunning for his age. Also baroque is mathematical, why some people say that he is a "machine"? .

  • lol you^^

  • Bravo!

For people who don't read chinese, he is Mr.Yang, 14 years old student from Middle School Affiliated to Tianjin Conservatory of Music. It is written in Chinese in the beginning.

  • I hope this kid does the world a favor as sticks to classical guitar. Dont go pop, please. you play bach to well to slide down hill :D.

  • haha

  • ohh really ??? fine for you

  • vinnothelizard stop be jealous he plays along when he grows and all be change also so he never will play any wrong notes so nice try but epicfail for u

  • This dude is great. What's his name?

  • Molto bravo. Complimenti.

  • Minor technical issues will get better when he gets older. Combine his phrasing for this piece and his increased future technical skills and this will be AMAZING someday!!!!

  • EXCELLENT phrasing!!!!

  • There isn't a single phrase or breath in this entire performance.

  • He's a kid, I'd say he's making good progress. I didn't get a good sense of phrasing until I became intense with classical studies myself.

  • There's no doubt that he at least has excellent fingers. My comment was more of a reaction to people remarking on his "excellent phrasing".

  • His phrasing, (as in the natural quality of his playing and how it all lays out,) is very good, best finger touch in places. Five Stars.

  • That's not what phrasing is.

  • i cant belive what im seeing here this is mad he is gunna be so unimaginably good when he is older :D

  • Pero, ¿de donde ha salido este genio? ¿cuál es su nombre? Me gustaría saber algo más de él, para poder seguir su evolución. Este chaval promete de verdad. ¿Does anybody know him? I'd like to know his name.

  • that was great....amazinggg

  • I can't believe this.

I'm used to seeing a lot of young prodigies here on youtube with lots of notes but little feeling. This young fellow has real musicality happening here.

    Bravo!

  • four thumbs up for you! you're amazing.. I just start to learn this peace..

  • Trying to learn this piece on a steel string... but ya this kid is insanely good.

  • he really dont look very happy

  • Truly amazing. So young and yet he plays it perfectly.

  • i take it back,. it is the best. :D

  • ok guys. Ive got to leave you. I have a guitar to break. I give up......

  • unbelievable!

  • how old is he? 12?

  • 错了,是杨永喜。。

  • 他是不是杨崇喜的儿子啊?

  • This young Chinese boy has an astonishing understanding of the piece. This points to the universal impact of Bach's music. Probably the best performance I have heard.

  • i wouldn't say the best, but your right he has such a deep understanding,. do you think he has any idea about any of the theory behind the music which would explain how well he plays it? OR is he just following hes own feelings and emotions about the piece, OR is it because that THAT is the way it was taught to him,. either way it shows he has a lot of

    *****to be cont.****

  • discipline,. and he is truly gifted because it takes a lot to truly master a piece and judging by the way this kid plays,. its like hes on a whole-nother level of maturity and understanding. :D

  • Comment removed

  • Always the asians

  • atta boy! stay away from dope!!

  • Impressive!

  • dammit why are asians so much better at everything naturally

  • It's practice and discipline. Not like there is a Guitar gene.

  • I want some discipline, too D:

  • because we are . :D

  • @Isaac2c I partially agree with George Kollias when he says : I don't believe in talent, I believe in devotion. Or something like that. I think Asians just work super hard to get to a level like this.

  • @Isaac2c That is both silly and obviously untrue.

  • @goethethegreat thats right it is silly. learn to take a joke! that comment is coming from someone (me) who has played guitar 10 years, and has practiced this piece for 2 years and still comes nowhere near the virtuosity in this video....

  • @Isaac2c Their parents make them practice/study 1-8 hours every day since they were 3-5yrs old. Natural talent has nothing to with it, and claiming such is disregarding their hard work.

  • @Isaac2c Not naturally, they just put a lot of effort in everything, which we occidentals don't usually do

  • This piece is very hard, just finished 998 prelude and trying to play this one, much harder in all aspects. to be able to play like this is really a gift. Thx for the video very joyful

  • Great job. This was one of the few pieces that Bach wrote dynamics in. I think that if you implemented the forte, piano contrasts that he intended this piece will sound even better (and you are already doing a great job with it). Then once you have that dynamic idea in your ear its easy to hear the other places where dynamic shape can make the piece transcendental and this piece is definitely transcendental.

  • that's really really good. nice job

  • nice work keep up!!!

  • Oh fantastic - I enjoyed this immensely. Thanks for posting

  • Flawless, Masterful..

    Marcelo

  • What's the name ot this gorgeus young guitar player?

  • wow :-o

how olds this kid now and whats he doing!

  • some day i'll be playing like you ..maybe in my dreams.

  • Absolutely Glorious! He makes every really sing. Sounds like he's spent a lot of time listening to Glen Gould.

  • CHINO TENIA QUE SER

  • lolololol!!!!

  • wow... i'm shaft!!!

  • i play since i am 6 and have only seen (i have seen much) a very few children like this. The tone is wonderfull. How can a child have this mature tone, most guitarists needs years for a tone like this (many thinks this must be a good guitar) no :-) this is the player. Many players can even not hear the effort and the difference between a average tone and this tone or reach it. Its so fantastic and the interpretation is very good for that age, bach should be played like this.

  • excelente!! a excepcion que ya me frustro la vida.

  • Just amazing. How old was he then?

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! he is just a kid! amazing...

  • Superbe!

  • no manches, está enfermo

  • I tray to play this...song for allmost 25 years, and I still can not...So words are useless. Remain the ears...only!

    Thad`l do kid!

  • dont get me wrong but you failed then. i have been playing 3 years now and i am learning it now. i will be able to play it in at least one year, i am sure of that.

  • lol ur so jealous

  • true that. Chill out man, when you were his age you were probably more concerned about barney than how to play guitar. not only is this song very tough, he also has the drive at such a young age to play it. That's incredible if you ask me

  • Amazing!

  • Wow!

  • Bravo!

  • damn... what a kid :)

  • Wow, I always thought I have too small hands for Bach pieces. Now I know I´m wrong. 5 Stars from me!

  • I'm sure this kid is playing on a small scale guitar(640 maybe).

  • wow, damn orientals, his play is almost perfect but still i think its too robotic, id better write this piece in guitar pro and listen to it

  • oh my god this kid fucking owns

  • kid, you are amazing!

  • la interpretacion se oye muy plana, pero de alli en fuera wow

  • That was awesome! Very humbling

  • young artist! Well done, keep going.

  • really well done for his age, a talent.

  • perfect and flawless!

  • perfect. flawless. right tune. perfect timing

  • That is brilliant! At such an age,I am truly inspired!

  • Would make Bach proud.

  • wonderful and you have a real talent and its not easy to play bach s music

    thanks for this video

  • I'm more than twice his age, been playing for over 4 years, and cannot achieve this skill.

    Scary talent!

  • 4 years ain't much to play this!

  • OMG! Perfectly rendered! A true virtuoso! Encore!

  • The continuation of John Williams?

  • wow chavo

  • Where is the virtual applause button! This is fantastic.

  • Very well done. Played better than 90% of the other posts on here.

  • Wonderful playing young man. You are truly an inspiration. Please keep up the great work and keep posting. Look out Li Jie! LOL

  • Que Dios bendiga los jovenes guitarristas classico.BRAVO!!!

    Marcelo Ramirez

  • omg... kid puts a LOT of grown up guitarists including myself to shame lol! VERY WELL DONE, absolutely beautiful interpretation!

  • well said milipou. I couldn't agree more.

  • What amazes me is that this boy has such MATURITY in his interpretation...Where did that come from?Technique can be learnt, given the right teacher and alot of practice, but where does the depth of his interpretaion come from? Wow.

  • Absolutely wonderful!

  • Well done.

  • tu toca d+ rapaz....!!!

    vc é um grande musico....

    tem muito futuro!!!1

    parabens...um abraço

  • How much years old is he?!?!

  • He is 14.

  • It saddens me to see all the comments about race and religion instead of music. Music belongs to everyone and no one at the same time. It was a lovely performance. Thanks for posting.

  • oh¡

cuando sea grande quiero ser como él¡¡¡

    :D

    toca excelente...

    saludos!

  • ah, que buen video (y)

  • jajaja

como te la hizo caber mogolico

  • It's a pity that you, as an american, doesn't like your country. I didn't say "everything is perfect", and in fact, "nothing is perfect". I am a Chinese and I'm so proud to be a Chinese. I love my country.

  • The point is that, being an educated and civilized musician, I'll never use these dirty words. It applys to differnt race. Not because you're american and you can call people jackass. And I don't think you feel respect when people call you "assgoblin" while you're playing your guitar.

Respect yourself and your country by respect others.

    Shame on you!!!!!

  • So, do you mean American is uncivilized? I don't think so.

  • Respect people by respecting yourself first. Only uncivilized people uses this type of language.

  • One day soon race, country, geographical divisions, etc. will not exist. A righteous government by Jesus Christ ( which he taught his followers to pray for )will crush and put and end to ALL human govenments and provide the conditions we long for.

  • Someone is Jealous

  • Fantastic interpretation!

I don't say that it's perfect, but I would be so pleased to play like that, which is only a dream impossible to realize.

  • Their all robots?!? And some youtubers should shut up instead of commenting no matter how...

  • Can anyone tell me where I can get the music/tab for this arrangement? Thanks.

  • he played very well... i play this piece often myself (you can view my videos) and i like his interpretation; it's very close to that of JW, but has more color.

  • ChenZhi 040 guitar? is he Mr.Chen Zhi's student?

  • an amazing performance,,,this is truly enjoyable Bach at a pace that is just right.... your potential is so great and we look forward to your playing future with a better guitar

  • If China is teaching kids music at this level with that much efficiency, they're not quite as backwards as the western corporate media would like us to believe, are they?

  • Dear Mr. Yang Xinshuo, contratulations! Read the comments; everyone loves your playing and, from what I´ve seen, there are many guitarrists commenting. Mr. HIGHINTENTEL is one of the most generous commentators.

  • Where is Narciso Yepes´ abominable and germanic version of this piece? This kid is light years ahead of the masters.

  • Yang Tingshuo, 14 years old, a student in Affiliated Middle School of Tianjin Conservatory of Music, China.

  • Thanks for the info! I thought he was younger than that!

  • Well, I made a mistake. His name is Yang Xinshuo(杨昕烁) not Yang Tingshuo(杨听烁). His teacher is He Qing(何青), and he plays a "ChenZhi 040" type guitar.

  • this kid is so freggin good! my favorit piece by far.

  • J. Williams´ version is also here, but seriously is it that much or really better. Williams has all the sound, the video, the great guitar to make a clip, but this young man can certainly stand next to him regarding this piece.

  • I personally don't like J. Williams timing and feel on this piece. This kid is in tune with something Williams could never have [in my openion]. You have to grow into it, no ammount of practice can achieve what this kid feels. But thats just my openion of course. Who am I to say, really. Just what my ears and heart feel. This kid is the best I have herd so far. Best meaning for me. I don't like to compare though, thats for Yngwie and BB king fans to do to each other...lol

  • This kid is quite good but is simply far from the greatness that John Williams has achieved. He rattles a lot and misses notes here and there. The version by John Williams is still by far the most flawless of all.

  • This is some of the best Bach I´ve heard on the guitar; straightforward and clear phrasing, beautiful tone, good dynamics, etc. Wow! I hate have to describe music only in superlatives (or in some cases pejoratives), but you certainly deserve the superlatives. A pity that the West will hardly ever know...but alas, such is life...our best efforts doomed for oblivion.

  • This kid has some nice interpretation of Bach. He will be a successful guitarist.

  • more like already is

  • Unbelievable. I've been playing this piece for 36 years. And well, too. But this boy blows away the pros. This is the hardest piece to play on classical guitar - or one of them. And he plays it smoothly, with superb tone and articulation. Total authority. It's mind blowing.

  • that's pretty awesome.

  • This would be pretty good if he played with dynamics.
