  • fly into a thundercloud

  • veri nice video, but shadow 2000 is a military drone where did you got it? is it a smaller edition of it?

  • what rc link was used? i use futaba FASST 2.4ghz but im scared to lose control

  • This is the most relaxing vid I've seen in awhile, how did it get 2 "dislikes?"

  • coooollll man what its the song????? i like it

  • How far the plane can go from you before the radio signal becomes too low?

    Also, nice touch down.

  • You are first time, your RC Plane go to very high ! in history. I give to you, score 10

  • Yeah baby what a dream!!!! fpv at cloud height!!! I LOVE IT!!!

  • Very nice Video

  • Is there a starter kit I can get and get going on this? This video is amazing.

  • IFR flying with RC.. Very cool...

  • Cant you lose it?

  • so thats what clouds look like without a plane window in the way :)

  • Good job keeping the plane steady at 305m altitude :-) I would have thought an RC plane would wobble up and down like crazy but it seems you keep it very steady.

  • this is my dream.

to leave the surface of the Earth in an aircraft, r/c or real.

    this looks like such fun

    :)

  • so start working, the sky is the limit

    Itay

  • Nice flight, liked and favorited.

  • does the moisture in the clouds affect the electronics?

  • 0:41 looks like that moment in Matrix.

  • AWESOME!!! you should find an airplane and fly by it

  • Well I guess this is the best dang rc video I've ever seen. Flying in the clouds was my goal since college, but that was line of visual sight only no cam help and they were always too dang high. I am amazed at how simply you made all this look, what an exclusive domain for the rc flyer

    B

  • Go out on a foggy day, the clouds are a lot lower then.

  • Aqua - Turn Back Time

  • Man the music is timeless! I can't even remember the name of the group now either :~

    Great video!

  • Amazing 5*

  • Super cool! You need an instrument rating for that? ;)

  • This song is cool! 90s musics FTW! j/k :) pretty cool song though!

  • shit this is a uav not a rc lo-l

  • Looks like RC to me.

  • cool .. but why the gay music?

  • There's only one way to identify 'gay' music....

  • What song is this?

  • Whoa Cool!!

  • wich fpv system and camera are you running? specifically what camera for sure?

  • Very nice video ! I enjoy to see it !

    five stars !

  • Amazing!! I've got no words!

  • theres something nice about souring through clouds!!

  • Great video! Gay song...

  • What's gay about it? You're gay.

  • that looked so cool. I have a helicopter and it's a bitch to fly, I gotta start with planes now.

  • get helicommand

  • Very nice. Which Plane are you using, can you give me specs for the plane? I just bought my FPV system but crashed my pitts because the system was heavy for plane and wings snapped during aerobatics :D

  • When using goggles I saw a page on the net where it could be hooked up to the the trainer plug on the xmtr, the unit hooked onto the goggles so when your head moved left the camera followed. Looked pretty neat it used a spare receiver channel to connect to the servo.

  • I think I have a pix of my Twinstar2 on my file. I use 3S Lipo 5000 Mah Battery, I had to make a small plywood board to hold the OSD and 500 mw 900 Mhz Xmtr. I use velcro to hold the small GPS to the top of the fuse behind the canopy. The Camera is mounted on the nose. I use a small 2 S Lipo fpr the camer system. Also cut a plastic bottle to fit over the eletronics to reduce drag. I can get about 5 miles out of the camera Line of sight. I use video goggles so I can see where the plane is

  • Oh,

    Thanks!

  • Also, how are you getting the airspeed etc... on the screen? There are devices i know of that are designed to measure the speed/alt of an rc plane but they cannot transfer the readout to the screen... if you see what i mean

  • It's called OSD "On Screen Display" Hooks to a small GPS on the plane and transmits the data thru the Transmitter that sends the pix back to you on the ground. . The cheaper units don't let you change position of letters so they block a lot of the pix.

I fly a similar unit that I just upgraded to brushless motors to get longer higher flights.

    Lee

  • Oh... nice! Would you be able to PM me or something with the stats of your system etc...

    Cheers,

    Sheldon

  • can you please tell me what exactly the phrase "FPV" stands for?

  • First Person View

and it know also as RPV- Remotly Piloted Vehicle

  • thanks!

  • @Itay007 could mit also be a RC UAV?

  • @horizonflyer9: First Person View

  • Hi, do you know where i could get plans for this plane? Also: what FPV system are you using and are you controlling the Pan/Tilt movement via the transmitter?

  • there are no plans for this plane.

Im using 500mW 2.4Ghz av tx

controling the pan/tilt is via the left stick of the rc tx

  • Oh... is it a kit or an ARTF??

  • @Itay007 I am also building a FPV system.I am going to use headtracking for the pan and tilt. What are you useing for the TX mines a turnigy x9 2.4 Ghz for the video tx 1500 mW 1.2Ghz

  • Got a short video on from Ute Lake. See at "Ute Lake Fly In" Yours is better. Got my FPV gear working just need the weather to cooperate

  • Great video, I tried my FPV yesterday. The plane a Twinstar2 couldn't gain any altitude and went down just a few seconds from take-off. Had to lighten it by removing li-po for video and tapping off motor battery Hope those few ounce will allow it to get airspeed..

  • you should kit it

  • Oh nice. Great job on the vid how where you able to keep track of where you where? did you just watch the vid and know the area very well.

  • Thanks, i'm using visual things on the ground like roads and trees to navegate around.

You can see in the video that I look down sometimes, this is to know where I am and how far I'm from base.

  • what plane where you using?

  • scrath built Shadow 200 (real UAV)

  • Nice video!!! why do you have the altimeter in 305m all the time? does the plane hold the ALT itself?

  • The OSD is not capble to measure more then 1000 Feet (305m)

The true Alt is something like 700m

  • This is a great video!! 5 stars. Were you about 10,000 feet? I have the range video 500 milliwatt 900 MHZ with 8 DBI patch to try out.. The other planes I have have 1000 milliwatt 2.4 GHZ. diversity with 2 12 DBI patch antennas. What radio band do you use for the control of plane? I have been flying FPV approx 3 miles out and high.

  • I'm using Standart 72Mhz Airtronics Stylus TX and PCM RX.

I'm getting like 2.5 Miles in ALT of 1000 feet.

  • Thank You Itay 007. I was out at the Lake Mead Nevada RC field today Sunday the 25th. I wanted to fly FPV .I have reinstalled the camera on the left wing on servo. Well I had no video feed. I think I goofed on soldering the connectors for the 4 pin molex male and female. This makes it quick connect when I attach the wing to fuse. So I tried out a little Cessna Mod I did from electric 380 to glow. I do have a video of flying higher then mountains around Lake Mead. Working on that to post.

  • Itay 4D - you are the best!
