I have 78 ford f-250 ranger with the 354 perkins turbo diesel with the np435/np205 with a single stack on it and man in broke the rear dana 60 pulling a load of hay on a 45 foot goosneck. now it has a dana 70 from a power wagon lol the load was close to 40,000lbs
a good engine conversion would be the ford 6D engine with turbo as used in ford cargo wagons, its about 6 litres and 6 cylinders; has about 200bhp and about 550-600lbft torque, theyre really good on fuel and sound good too.
I also have a 6- 354T perkins and looking for some old iron to put it in. Mine has a ford t 19 tranny behind it as it came from a new holland bail wagon.

The truck was purchased by a friend for the body. He is in the process of putting the Ford crew cab body on a 93 Dodge Cummins frame.
