Something I didn't realise during my playthrough of this game was just how important stealth is (especially when coupled with obfuscate).
Unfortunately the combat in this game is pretty bad, which means having the ability to stealth kill an entire room full of enemies (or to just walk past right them without them ever knowing you were there) makes the game so much easier. Actually, it feels like the game punishes you for not investing in the stealth skill.
@MasterofEternalNight This game gives you points to spend on each attribute tree. You get 5 points in one, 4 points in another, and 3 in the last. Malkavians are ordered as 3/4/5 (Physical/Social/Mental). So that history would lead to a more physically powerful character instead of a mentally powerful one.
You put points in the computer skill at character creation? You really are a madman. You get a skill book for that pretty early. Also the skill is worthless if you've played the game before since none of the passwords change.
Finance is actually a pretty good skill if you're using firearms, as restocking on ammo throughout the game can cost a lot. I found it useful to have it, at least. Money is not *that* easy to come by in Bloodlines.
you know knowing that there a book at the panshop about computing hacking lvl 2 you realy need to start boasting scholar and f*uck the hacking skills XD
When choosing where to place your starter points, I always found it most helpful to place all points in a catergory in one skill. If you receive 3 points to put in either strength, dexterity or stamina, you should put all 3 points in one stat as the experience cost of the third level of strength is enormous when compared with the first level.
Fat Mackey (Or whatever his name is, he's an afro-sporting fat guy in a tanktop that sells some interesting weapons.) has stuff, he usually stands near a van in... one part of the city, I can't remember which part.
They're a bloodline from another clan. Bloodlines are branches off the main clans. They have all their abilities, plus (usually) access to another discipline and another flaw/benefit from the bloodline. But Brujah as they exist in Old WoD are gone, along with Malkavians.
I know im getting into flaming territory for defending the new WoD, but both Malkavians and Tremere are still in the game, they are just not clans. Aside from an ofshoot of the Ventrue, malkavian mechanic is now implemented in the Ventrue clan itself as a clan weakness... so in a way all Ventrue are now Malkavian as well. And Tremere are now a covenant - namely the Lancea Sanctum, utilizing blood magic as their covenant ability (ya I know it's not the same).
But you have to agree there really were too many clans in the old WoD. When you play a game session you usually end with a player of each clan, and that doesnt make it feel like a much of a clan at all - every player is a one man clan, as all the other clan members have to be played by the GM. Kinda spoils all the fun
Thank you so much for explaining this

I was looking at the histories and I saw ones like this:
Cut-Rate Clown\Gymnast Turned Stripper
Gender: Male\Female
Bonus: Switch Attribute order to: Physical Mental Social
Penalty: N/A
Does switching the order really do anything in game?

I'm using the Camarilla 1.2 mod, and it makes me a sad panda. My Malkavian no longer has Vision of Death or Berserk. :(

It's kinda weird that you lose humanity when you kill innocent, cause that's part of what we humans to best!
inkedful 2 years ago 16
Indeedm you should loose humanity whenever you do a task for free.
sartanko 2 years ago 13
indeed :P in fact we humans are only species who kill for pleasure... reall beasts kill only to get food, or to deffend territory or little pups.
We kill for fun :3

I think if you have some points in haggle (is it called this?) you have more dialogeoptions when its about money.
An example:
Mercurio (Mercury) lost the astrolite and the money.
If you find the money (no spoiler, i think) and if you 2 or 3 in haggle you can give Dennis (is this his name??) the money and buy the astrolite.
There are lots of other examples. So i think haggle is a kind of usefull.^^
EnterVoodoo 2 years ago
No, haggle is useless. You can buy astrolite by having a high persuasion feat. Haggle doesnt apply there.
karry299 2 years ago
Are you sure?
I really think you only can buy it with a high haggle skill.
Don't know...^^

I don't know if we mean the same things^^
I mean financial skills, you know.
I think it's called finance.
God, i'm bad in english^^

You can keep playing the game without any humanity, its masquerade that a lack of ends the game.

if you bit people and they turn into that bloodline and help you would make the game cooler. but its still kickass.

This game wholly makes up for the debacle that was "Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption". It's a fun game.

They will never be forgiven for the removal of the Malkavians and the Tremere. Two of the most enjoyable takes on the vampire trope I've ever seen.
