I beat this game (Crystal) for the first time ever when I was 7.I stood up late, and when I beat it, I cried, and showed my mom. All she said was "Good For You". I guess She didn't understand that I just beat Pokemon Crystal ;D

I have to say, gold/silver/crystal are the last of great pokemon games. Sapphire/ruby are decent. The new ones however, like black and white just doesn't cut it. My sister got Black on her DSi and the music are horrible compared to the originals. I'm glad that I was in the golden era when I was young.

@keac241 I suppose the games have changed along with people over the passage time, the graphics and the music have changed, but so have they for everything we play and watch.

The fourth generation had a hard time going for some fans, which is weird because it can be compared to GSC in some ways. The first, third and fifth generations released a lot of new species of Pokemon that didn't have any connection to ones that already existed, but that's why 4th gen is similar to GSC: They released Evos.

Okay tbh really, Gen 2's soundtrack was crappy and annoying.

This is my only fav theme in the entire game.

And if B/W sucks so much then why did it score a perfect 40/40. Something Generation 2 can never do.

Also, that's a matter of perception. Obviously, if I'm the judge I'm gonna give B/W a low score whereas if you're the judge, you're gonna give them a high score. Everyone has a different perception of things including judges. A judge's score has some value but doesn't mean a game is necessarily bad or good. You're never gonna agree with me like I'm never gonna agree with you. We have differences in perception. That's that.

My boyfriend got me Pokemon Silver Version after I told him that my Gold version didn't work anymore. Silver version didn't work either. So I took the carts apart and put new batteries in. Now I'm playing through Silver version and trying to catch that bitch Lugia! I didn't get into the 2nd gen of Pokemon until 2002 or so. (Late, I know) but I enjoy it when I kick Red's ass all over the place with my epic team. A great sense of accomplishment is achieved! :D

I was fucking crushed when I rediscovered my old Gold and Silver cartridges and found that the save function no longer worked because the battery had run out. However it was not the end, I replaced them with a handy botch job and some tape and now I'm re-living all these awesome memories all over again! Already on my way to the Elite Four! Reminds me too much of the time I spent of this game as a kid, and how amazingly happy I was when I found out I could go to Kanto. It just blows my mind how many hours I spent on the game with my short attention span. Over 500+ hours clocked. And then deleted because the save feature died. And that day, I cried and threw my Silver away, as I had no idea that I could repair the save feature with specific batteries. I'm mortified to this day, but this music fills me with memories.

It was the most wonderful day of my life, I had a blast playing through it, and then when I finally beat Lance (after 4 tries) I was disappointed when the credits were rolling because I thought the adventure was over... but then when I got the SS ticket to go to Kanto, I knew I was playing something special, and up to this day I consider this the most important game in my life, and I still play it
