@Paelignus The Myceneans and Dorians invaded Crete but there were still some Minoans called "eteocretans" or "etocretans" (true Cretans) that survived mostly on the eastern and southern part of Crete. Especially around the town of Praesos/Praisos in eastern Crete below Sitia. Not all Cretans/Minoans left after the catastrophe.

@Paelignus They are mostly Doric. But there are still a few areas with remnants of the Eteocretan element, as lzambeni wrote.
