  • In 1976 there was only mytube, but i knew that somewhere down the line would be a kind of a different tube, so a waited 36 years to honor a masterpiece.

  • I remember getting really stoned listening to this very album. I was 13 years old by then... Important to mention that I did not have any drugs that day... Really deep material. A masterpiece of a band's creation.

  • awsome

  • This is pure Poetry

  • a nossa vida num quarto(psicose)

  • simplesmente fabuloso

  • The song so incredibly turns from anticipating melancholy to utter darkness at 3:33. How could you let it happen..."

  • @tantawi1992

    Fuck you.

  • saw them live in 75... One of the best band ever.

  • Για περισσότερα από 30 χρόνια δεν μπορώ να ακούσω αυτό το τραγούδι χωρίς να ανατριχιάζω...

  • @sjiannis no te entendí ni madres .... pero la rolita está de pelos.

  • in terms of prog roock vgg are light years ahead. in musical terms they dont even come

close to zappa......but peter has a voice that comes second to none.

childlike faith in childhoods end is soooooo beautiful.

  • plus two

  • So let's settle the great prog argument, here: Peter Gabriel or Peter Hammill?

  • @SupperOfTheMightyOne love vdgg but Gabriel is incomparable. From your profile name you might agree. Supper's ready is the best song ever written by mankind. Utterly brilliant.

  • @SupperOfTheMightyOne

Hammill for me...but thats just my personal preference...

  • music - Schubert, Beethoven, Schostakovich level they move musically...

  • it's a pity that the major song of the album "Childlike Faith in Childhood's End" is too long for youtube 12:24

thanks for upload. i've been listening this album for 1000 times over. it will remain in my top 10 albums of all times 4 life!

  • SOLEMN is the word.

    Five fire ball stars******

  • Dreams , hopes and promises ..... fraagments out of time . I thank god for a friend who turned me on to VGG like 8 or 9 years ago ..

     Peace

  • Awesome song, awesome lyrics, awesome arrangements, awesome sax (David Jackson).

  • words elude me, the most agressive horrid voice yuou will ever hear the totally angelic, no vocalist i can think of even comes close.

  • Yeah!

Still one of my favorite Songs of VDGG. Though maybe not the most innovative one.

    Just beautiful!

  • utterly, utterly brilliant

    sublme

    million stars plus one

  • I don't know what you're talking about. Peter Hammill is one of the best vocalist I know, he sings with so much emotion and power. There are only few that are such haunting vocalists as Peter Hammill.

  • I suggest you listen to VITAL. He certainly didn't hold much of a tune on that.

  • neilthompson27 - I suggest you listen to more music from the past. Dissonance with vocals has a long established tradition from rennaissance music onward. In a culture where words may have lost meaning, Hammill's approach is more than valid. He can obviously carry a tune if needed.

  • @floydispink5 some people get "it" some don't. We who love vdgg; know his range so it is almost funny to read ignorant statements like the one above yours. Well, their loss.

  • he is also very original, i love his voice!

  • part of the fragility for me

  • my god.. you must be drunk.. Peter Hammill's singing is stratospheric and unreachable. Where else can you find a voice that can be lyrical, scary, delicate, surreal and theatrical (sometimes even at the same time)? I'd say very few names, P.Gabriel and G.Lake being two of these.. but P.Hammill probably is even above them

  • You have pretty eclectic and awesome musical tastes, dear sir or madam.

Thank you for posting these excellent tracks so that a new generation of people can be exposed to this awesome music!

  • one of the best tune ever, lot of thrills along the spine. you can understand what "ghostly saxophones" really mean
