Some reason - this song reminds me of Vampire Hunter D. I've seen many fanfics which portray Alucard and D as brothers - and given their similarities, I can't help but wonder.

Pretty song. It's not epic sounding or anything, but that makes it more charming. I never played SotN myself, but this makes me want to go out and get it right now.

Favorite part is around the 2:00 mark. The 'I don't know if I will pass this way again' just sounds so sad and heartfelt.

Cheating at 2:26 though. You can't rhyme wind with wind. :P

At first you'll think "Omg this is crap voice acting! And this belongs on a Megadrive dammit!", but as you explore Drac's castle and build-up Alucard into a strong character, the game will blow you away. Then theres all the secrets too!

The only bad thing about SOTN is that you get the feeling the game was rushed by Konami somehow. But even still, it truly is a masterpiece and I recommend it.

@Vergil1Dante0 alucard from cv imo...They can use magic/spells, they can turn themselves into bat, wolf or mist(don't know about alucard in hellsing though if he can turn to mist). They can both summon familiars, as quoted from alucard in hellsing when fighting luke....The advantage of alucard in cv is the alucard sword and shield which he use to destroy dracula and his minions. Also the alucard in cv can use holy water, bible, and holy cross and other holy weapons. It's like anderson+alucard.

If you recall, he was wounded by touching water before you obtained a particular item in the game's events. Alucard from Hellsing is still able to bounce back from a holy weapon's blow, as demonstrated in the final fight with Anderson. The sword and shield which Alucard of CV uses are mere memento's of his mother, so they wouldn't deal any more damage to a vampire than a regular sword.

@Vergil1Dante0 it's just he has too many lives that he devoured that's why he can't be killed....Let's say all the tricks you find in the SOTN game can be used when he fights alucard in hellsing-The shield rod used with alucard shield can be lethal, and I think the faerie familiar lvl 99 can resurrect him over and over again when he dies. He just needs to use those different powerful magics to kill those millions of souls that alucard devoured in hellsing. and don't forget the yellow mist...

Its the hair, every character that has long silver hair has been badass. Sephiroth, Alucard, Siefer, Ultimecia, Ragna the Bloodedge, Chipp Zanuf, Lightning, Snow, etc. Each has had long, silver hair in some fashion or another, and each is a badass in their game.

alas, that is the point. Sephiroth is, above all else has a greater following than he deserves. Chipp of guilty gear has a dark background where he didn't start off a hero and climbed a steep ladder battling drug addiction yet his name is only spoken amongst the most esoteric of circles. Lightning is betrayed, enough said.

yet Sephiroth snaps his fingers, becomes all powerful with a borderline Oedipus complex. not exactly as badass as Doc Holiday.

Why do Konami seem intent on removing this song from all their later ports of SotN (ie. on XBLA and PSP). I think it's a beautiful song, fitted the ending perfectly on the original version.

Removing this from later versions was like when Nintendo decided to remove the cool ending credits music from the GBA port of Super Mario Bros 3. If a game is considered to be a classic, it's because the fans like everything about it and there's no need to screw around with it :(
