  • Anyone seen Tony as of late? The years really haven't been kind to him. It was about a decade ago that he still looked like a teenager

  • @Forsale9 Nevermind, I figured it out. He was diagnosed with Hepatitis C a few years ago. I'm sure it's wreaking havoc on him

  • it bums me out that we sent to troops to Iraq when we clearly should have sent them to this song.

  • God save us from today's music. Why can't new bands learn from these great musicians....real musicians.

  • dammit this song, makes me remember of those day that i enjoyed so much and will never come back

  • It's sad of your passing but you inspired an excellent song in your memory. RIP Lela and Raymond Howard- Saturday, June 28 1997.

  • @lizardriper3 So that's what the song's about. I knew it was about a married couple who never came home but I never knew their fate. Thanks for putting that up.

  • @MrMickthemonster then again if Id've actually listened to it....

  • no me gusta a mujer al inicio de la cancion parece nose k estuviera endemoniada k feo pero la cancion es chevere

  • I love this song.

  • Me recuerdan al cuarteto de nos!.. like!

  • Goosebumps everytime I hear this. I'm an old rocker, but this song crosses over to many tastes in music. It's fantastic.

Everytime I hear the solo I can't help think of SRV on Bowie's Let's Dance. Peace, Joy, and Harmony, brethren. Keep On Rockin', FOR A Free World.

  • @summielogs no one likes you

  • @summielogs Let's hear you do any better mr negative.

  • It's awesome that this song was a mainstream hit. It's really good and deserved widespread airplay, but it has a quirkiness of sorts that music execs don't usually go for. Good on whatever suit championed this -- and, of course, the band for writing it!

  • I just hummed this song into soundhound and found it...dang

  • Goodness how I miss the 90's!!!!!!!

  • @TheHDH83

Me too. And I was only 14 when they ended.

Damn, I'm getting old too quick. On the inside, at least.

I'm not going get all fucking philosophical.

Ahhh... obscure one hit wonder bands from the 90's.

    Remember Sex & Candy?

  • @stayawayfromtheshed LMAO, awww, how could I forget Marcy Playground? Don't forget Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger, another gem!

  • @TheHDH83 What about mmmmbop by those annoying little sister brothers. That is still stuck in my head 13-14 years later.

  • @MrMickthemonster I think that song laid eggs in all of our brains! LOL!

  • @TheHDH83 I still have this MAD Magazine from the late 90's with THE funniest picture on the back of it of those annoying little sister brothers in gothic makeup and it says Marilyn Hanson! How bloody funny is that?!!!! You might even be able to google image it. If you can...you will wet your pants!

  • @stayawayfromtheshed YES!!!! Marcy playground were AWESOME!!!! I still have that album. =D

  • this song makes Me nostalgic for those times. a little

  • chulada de cancion.

  • there's a true story about this song

  • the story in this is one of the saddest ive ever heard

  • Is there something wrong with the Audio system at 0:40? All of a sudden, it gets louder. Another good song!

  • 90's had the best one hit wonders....

  • @hornick18 Actually, this band had one other with "Out of My Head".

  • @0158014 Oh yeah. I forgot about that one... Thanks!

  • @hornick18 "my bootskootin baby is driving me crazy, something something get in line 5 6 7 8 " remember steps? that was example of how bad they could be as well. but for the most part...God i miss those days. OH and cotton eye joe!

  • I was still in primary school when i first heard the song. And trust me i've been searching high and low for the title. And yesterday I overheard this song at pelangi indah mcd's. And I straight away copy down the lyric and began searching :)

  • Its all about the 90s

  • typical randomness of 90's rock videos :)

  • This song is from the 90's ? whaaat? no way...but i thought it..just..came out.. :| maybe its a new version? no ...maybe not...

  • What happened to these guys, they were freakin' awesome!!!

  • My favorite songs of all time:

    ''Coffee and TV'' by Blur

    ''One Headlight'' by The Wallflowers

    "Bittersweet Symphony'' by The Verve

    **"The Way" by Fastball**

I just keep trying to imagine how that elderly couple died.

  • @spacefreak09 all from the 90's?

  • @prankstare Of course, the 90s had the best music. Music now can't even compare.

  • @prankstare ALL FROM THE 90's?????? Get the fuck out!!

  • @prankstare Yep.

  • @spacefreak09 they drove over a cliff to commit suicide

  • @TheGuruStud didnt they just get lost and never found?

  • @spacefreak09

    Drove off a cliff.

  • @MrMickthemonster 90s rule! Best music ever!

  • @spacefreak09

TOTAL SHIT!!, you want me to make one shit song and think im good !?!?!? FUCK NO!!

  • @srv333 "The Way" by Fastball is not shit. You're just not a fan of 90s music.

  • @spacefreak09 One headlight is great. Did you know Bob Dylan wrote that masterpiece ( pun intended) The wallflowers' lead singer is Jacob Dylan Bob's son. Which is why they are so bloody good.

  • @MrMickthemonster I love One Headlight! Jacob is the miracle son. I have all Wallflowers albums. Not to mention, my profile has all kinds of 90s music favorited. You should check it out.

  • @spacefreak09 Ok I shall do that friend! Yes the 90's. I was but a little pup through those days but they were my favourite. I just can't help but wish I was a little sprog all over again!

  • @spacefreak09 what about grunge?

  • this video is the best of 90's. after of nirvana of course je!.......

  • runs off thhe building w/ guitar in hand... falls without the guitar... and lands with the guitar on top of the car.... that my friends is the magic and power of 90's rock!

  • Holy shit i've been looking for this for soooo fucking long.

  • Was completely detatched from 90s music. Thought it was 99%, corporate-driven rubbish, packaged up by MTV self-glorifying itself in it's last genuine days before it became a non-musical, reality show nightmare. However, this song stands out as a distinct part of that 1% that was very good indeed.

  • @SouthOCmixdown Here Here.

  • @SouthOCmixdow right on.

  • @SouthOCmixdown 1%??? wow. This song is epic, yes, but what a close minded being you are.

  • @SouthOCmixdown I've been wondering how one could define the 90's and the 00's as decades with music ... This is one of those songs for me. I'm not quite sure if there's a common theme with the music of the 90's. Maybe that it's somehow edgier, darker than 80's. Hmm. Dunno.

  • @Loomr 90's 'edge' and 'darkness', just like the punk revolt of the 1970s, was largely a music journalism creation. the 'i dont care and cant play my guitar worth shit and wear grubby clothes'-atttitude was played out. and any 'angst' or emotion you find in 90s music, is artificially manufactured, to be sure. getting teens to act out and moan about how shitty their life is, is like shooting fish in a barrel and one of the oldest industry tricks in the book. Thats why 70s/80s music laps the 90s.

  • @marks661man What about something like Prodigy though? I doubt they did their music only listening to record company executives and music journalists, it was a pretty new genre all together.

Maybe the industry has some input there but don't you think many of those iconic bands just did their own thing ... and copied what everyone else was doing at the time.

  • @Loomr there will always be a handful of bands that defy convention, regardless of era. the industrial work of skinny puppy, ministry, etc, in paving the way for guys like reznor, comes to mind. one of many. but unfortunately, the closed loop mentality and marketing of the early internet, basically laid the groundwork for the napster/mp3, mega-market, minimal-talent formula that rules the industry today. i knew that, the minute i heard the 1st 3 notes of 'teen spirit' on mtv. the fix was in.

  • This is so Tarantino.

  • @choice2099 You know what? I never thought of it like that but you are so right.

  • i don't understand neither song nor video but i very like it !

  • In 3 years, my wife, who is a nurse, and I will be 55 yrars old. We will have a fifth-wheel camper, a new dodge dually, and we are gonna travel the country, and my wife will be a traveling nurse. We own a duplex, which will be rented out, and wating for us when we are ready to come back in 7-10 years!!!!

  • @02c24win1 Umm, who cares?

  • @silentyp3 Well, this song just fits our scenario. We are taking off and leaving it all behind us. And if you don't care, so be it.

  • @02c24win1 Congratulations on such a big transition. I wish nothing but the best for you both. God speed.

  • well people still listen to music from teh 90's 80's 70's 60's and so on...good xD

  • ahh the music of the 90's where things were always calming and yet made you want to dance witht eh devil ahhhhh such a great mixture

  • Ah Yes born in 89 remembering the 90's waking up in the morning half hour before school eating cereal, watching mtv's morning hits... good stuff, this wallflowers, soundgarden, and manny many more

  • @Zephyrus34 What about third eye blind and Blink 182. they were awesome. I was born in 87 so I know where you are coming from. I MISS BEING A KID!

  • for some reason I like this one ....

  • I wonder if him jumping off the roof in the end, symbolizes the old couples car going out in the canyon.. A really good song anyways :3

  • i used to listen to this song evertime i threw a party in sweetwater tx if your clever youd understand why

  • Re: living past 65, it all depends of your luck and genetics that determine your total health to carry on doing the dew with minimal interference.

  • 9 people couldn't find "the way"

  • Playing on the radio station in Hell, inbetween Sublime's "Santeria" and Sugar Ray's "Fly."

If not Hell, X103 Indianapolis. Where they got to 1999 on the calendar and stopped dead.

Here's a block of Limp Bizkit!

  • @epsteinsmutha1

    lol yep!

  • @epsteinsmutha1 FUNNY!

  • I sometimes catch myself singing the following lyrics:

"Anyone could see the road that they walked on was paved in gold,

It's always summer they'll never get cold, they'll never get hungry, they'll never get old and gray, you could see their shadows wandering off somewhere, won't make it home but they really don't care, they wanted the highway, they're happy to live today...today!" I feel so sorry for the elderly couple in Texas that lost "The Way" and ended up over a cliff.

  • This was a handful of songs of my college soundtrack (1996-2000.) 15 years later I still love this song & these are one of the tew bands of that time I really liked. I always thought this song would sound good in the film Pulp Ficiton for the end of the Gold Watch segment as Willis drives off with his girlfriend:

    "Whose chopper is this?"

    "Zed's."

    "Who's Zed?"

    "Zed's dead, baby."

And then they just ride off someplace. If not Pulp Fiction, them some story of lovers on the run.

  • @CTyankee4277 The shit butch's dad musta gone through ( or not as the case may have been ) then good ol mr walken taking one for the team when butch's dad kicked it. Best seen in the movie NEXT to the zed's dead baby bit.

  • Believe it or not, I just bought a station wagon from my dad when he wanted to scrap it mainly because of this song! We used to go cruising in the car blasting this song, so when the engine went, i told him give me the car, because I couldnt bear to let it go without having driven it well listening to this song at least one more time! Amazing how songs help keep things around, and oh yeah, I like the car too. 1963 Olds F-85

  • This song is just awesome.

  • Why does this remind me of Tom Green?!

  • @xauroraausx because you need help!

  • I was 13 when this came out and sometimes its like I'm hearing it for the first time all over again!

  • @Shar1179 It randomly popped into my mind a couple years ago after not hearing it for about 10 years. I just remembered the tune but I got so frustrated trying to remember the lyrics and the name of the song.

  • this song popped into my head while i was taking a dump!=D

  • @san7iago17 i dont need to now that.

  • @abcdefghujklmnopqrus who says its for you to know? its a general statement, not directed towards anyone or anything.

  • I was just 9 but it brings back so many good memories. BRING THE 90'S BACK!

  • rEMINDS ME OF CAKE

  • this song is pretty sad since based on the true story of Lela and Raymond Howard, an elderly couple from Salado, Texas who drove to a nearby festival and kept going. She had Alzheimer's disease and he was recovering from brain surgery. When they disappeared, a reporter from the Austin American-Statesman wrote a series of articles about the missing couple.

  • @somtyer890 THANKS FOR THE BACK STORY

  • Fastball bassist Tony Scalzo came up with the idea for the song after reading the articles (the band is from Austin). He says, "It's a romanticized take on what happened" - he "pictured them taking off to have fun, like they did when they first met." However, he found out after writing the song that the couple had died. They were found at the bottom of a canyon in Buffalo Gap,Texas about a 3 hour drive from their destination.

  • ....Y LOS MAS IMPORTANTE ..TIENE RITMO !!

  • ES UNA DE LAS MEJORES CACIONES QUE E ESCUCHADO ... ..ES BIEN BONITO!!!!!!!

  • 9 people thought, the "thumb down"-button means: DOWNLOAD this great tune.

  • I get to see them Friday, I CANT WAIT!

  • Is someone joking? Deliah & The Way are so apparently different someone has to be smoking crack to make that comparison.

  • Just listen to the other song... different songs...

  • Did anyone notice that? At the end of the video the guy running through the roof holds a guitar in his right hand but as he falls off the roof his both hands are free.

  • could anybody tell me what the singer who is playing the guitar is saying at 2:10 please.

  • @kevlar8686 The guitar player is saying "leaving it all behind" at 2:10.

  • and the guitarist looks like jimmy falon

  • he sounds like jack black

  • anyone notice the Jewel song snippit?@ 0:03

  • I actually perform this song but have never watched the video. A really good video and I usually don't like music videos. Someone said this song is the same as Hey there delilah? Hmmmm.... Don't see it at all.

  • 6 people don't know good music

  • great song!

  • i remember this song from when i was a kid... most epic song ever!

  • for me this song is FREEDOM, American Dream for my-my-Russian

  • playing playstation 1 while listening to this music makes me feel young again :'-)

  • I LOVEEEEEE THIS SONG

  • I checked out the guitar tabs for both Delilah and The Way amd the only real similarity the two songs share is the fact that they are both in a minor key, after that the similarities dissolve except for a couple of apparently similar melodic lines, which really are different when you look at them closely. The choruses are about as different as they can be - totally different chords, structure and melody, so i believe any perceived similarities are coincidental and superficial

  • @RichNewnes Get a life man its a great song, enjoy the tune , been listening to songs for 40 yrs and its got lots of familiar riffs but geez it really cooks along , no offence but shit , only so many chords you can play in a rock tune .

  • Music will never be this good again..

  • Plagiarism what an idiot FastBall wrote this song when they heard the news that an elderly couple had a family reunion to go to, the couple made up their minds that they were going to drive instead of flying to there. Well unfortunately their car broke down and they had memory problems. Look it up.

  • <3

  • I loved this song whenI was 10, and love it still at 21

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU STILL LISTEN TO THIS IN 2011

  • have not seen this video or heard this song in years and i mean years. last time i heard this was when the video was on TRL back in the on MTV.

  • Childhood

  • This song really moves me.

  • Check Wikipedia on this song. The story is pretty much there

  • Miles from Fastball is playing in the Chicago area on Thursday April 7th for a charity event open to the public. Fastball songs and new songs off Miles' upcoming solo album will be played Also on the bill, the original surviving members of the band Material Issue. Some great 90's power pop and more await you. Fitzgerald's nightclub, doors are at 7PM. Benefitting the Carlos Hernandez Journalism Scholarship at DePaul university. If you're in the area, not to missed, people.

  • 6 ppl will never find their way

  • i love how it sounds old timey

  • @wubbystation-Good point, but I did some research and found out that Fastball was sued in court several years back by the writers of "Delilah". It was ruled that that Fastball had indeed plagarized the song.

  • This song..... this song moves me.

  • Have you noticed that? The final scene: he runs with a guitar but as he jumps off the roof there's no guitar at all.

  • Before I knew the story behind this song, I had only heard the lyrics; not even the video. I knew it by heart.

In my head, the version I got was a bunch of folks looking for nirvana where it was summer and no one grew old. It was a very positive song for me. Sort of like the movie Cocoon.

I musician friend of mine explained the sad story behind the words, but you know....I like my version better. Im sticking with it.

    Peace

  • @Micaylah what sad story?

  • This song has to be about the novel (Of Mice and Men)

  • 5 people (and counting) couldn't find the way....

  • i havnt heard this song in forever

  • "an exit to eternal summer slacking"...clever.

  • Anyone could see The road that they walk on is paved in gold

And It's always summer, they'll never get cold

    They'll Never get hungry

They'll never get old and gray

You can see their shadows Wandering off somewhere

    They won't make it home

    But they really don't care

    They wanted the highway

They're happier there today , today.....sad but lovely

  • @cipher22 said: "who wants to stick around when they're over 65 years old anyway?"

Well, cypher, I do! I'm 66 and still playing bass and singing in a rock band AND getting gigs. I'll likely die with my bass in my hands ..... when I'm 86! No wait - that might be too young.

  • @Nuggniffer .....Rock On, m'man!! cipher22 has apparently never heard of Chuck Berry, the Stones, Ozzy, Aerosmith, AC/DC, etc. Also, the gospel group "Blind Boys of Alabama" have been performing since 1939, and still retains 2 founding members!

  • @Nuggniffer 90 is old now , 66 is retirement age :)

  • @Nuggniffer kudos my friend, keep rockin

  • Someone creative enough to write those lyrics has no reason to plagiarize. I don't hear many similarities between this song and Tom Jones song anyhow. You can only do so many chord progressions before you find yourself playing a song that already exists.

  • @bgood:

well, i am not sure if it is really plagiarism, but this song does sound kinda alike yes... but not to the point of having to suing anyone...

  • @prankstare They're both based on Besame Mucho: /watch?v=2ZSADBhXBm4

  • @bgood no one ever accuses Nirvana of "plagiarizing" More than a Feeling.

  • @bgood no one ever accuses Nirvana of "plagiarizing" More than a Feeling.

  • @ROBERDESAN I did some research and found that Fastball was sued several years ago by the writers of the Tom Jones song "Delilah" and lost. An American court found them guilty of plagiarism

  • i listen to 90s bands such as nirvana, sugar ray, coldplay, pearl jam, fastball, etc.

so what now, justin bieber and lady gaga? forget them!

  • @The90smusicfan I'm like you - I listen to a lot of bands from the 90's (Nirvana, Pearl jam, Fastball, Oasis, Foo Fighters, etc.) You gotta love the rocking 90's

    \,,/ (^.^) \,,/

  • i miss the 90s....now i have to listen to 2000s garbage, like the idiot justin bieber!

  • the girl doing yoga ruined the entire video!

  • THIS SONG IS A COMPLETE RIP-OFF OF THE TOM JONES HIT, "DELILAH". I CAN'T BELIEVE THESE BOZOS HAVE NOT BEEN SUED OVER IT.

  • @gmd1417

You must be smoking some good stuff dude. have u ever heard Tom Jones? if u did u was out of ur fucken mind. Asshole.!!

  • @gmd1417 Nah. File under: "homage" . See also Besame Mucho. You want rip off, indulge the band Jet for giddy fun and ill advised retreading. Fastball is a great band. They existed largely in a time when the machinery of the music industry was experiencing a drastic revolution that no one saw coming and this band, like a lot of other's of the time, got hit with the shrapnel of downloading and label downsizing. Bad for them as artists, but for the public it's never too late to discover 'em!

  • i haven't heard this song since whenever the fuck this was, and apparently i have subconsciously memorized these guitar solos. awesome

  • good song and all but he looks like a fucking psycho

  • haha i always wanted to be one of the dancers, near the beginning of the vid, when they sign the chorus for the first time.

  • i like this video!!!!!.....

  • Oh my fucking God I miss the 1990s. Look up 'No Rain' by Blind Melon.
