They used 9mm hollow point ammunition. Hollow points are not made for deep penetration. Were the .45 bullets hollow points, as well? I'm surprised you didn't test 5.56mm ammo too.

I also cannot help but wonder why did that guy repeatedly use ONE hand to shoot (and MISS) with the 1911. It made this video look pretty foolish.

A single book won't make a good shield, as it's small and some rounds went through one book. Tell your kid to get out of the danger instead of using a text book as a shield

Of course it is not perfectly safe, but it is common sense. All it takes is a turn of the wrist and you could accidentally shoot yourself or someone else. Point is it is common sense to not hand a gun over to someone else when just the touch of the trigger could set it off. Accidents happen that way all the time.

Thats why you never point the firearm regardless of safety designation, I think you mentioned that though....accidents happen because people can't figure out how to keep a firearm pointed downrage. Not because of safety designation, that helps sure, but ultimately if your dumbass friend hands you a firearm to you while pointing at another dumbass friend, than they need to be taught proper range etiquette. The better solution would be to arm and sufficiently train the teachers in the use of deadly force.

And, to those who think that guns would be an intimidation to students: a teacher is not going to use a sidearm to coerce their own students, and woe to those who would. This is about being given sufficient capability to quickly quell the threat when it exists. The point is to STOP the attacker then and there using deadly force only when it's absolutely necessary.

Yes, I agree that more should be done to try to keep them out at least, but in the event they get inside the school, it would be good to have a back up plan. Why can't both be done?
