  • I bought it last week but I will never open this one, for my unopenned collection only. Ill have to buy another one to taste it!!

  • Open one yesterday got it for 64 us dollars, it is good but prefer bunnabhabain 12 for half the price

  • Tried it at a friends place last week. Too much peat for my taste, but still a great whisky.

  • I have a bottle of this, and I think I will buy another for Ron. I love this stuff.

  • @phospholipasec I guess its a natural product so there are bound to be variations from batch to batch. I'm sure they wouldn'y have released it for sale though unless it was up to the proper standard and character.

  • Is colour such a big factor to consider? Not to say that Ardbeg uses E150, but many ie Johnny Walker look really rich because they add caramel to theirmalts. I was a bit pissed to find that the rich amber of some of my favs was cheated.

Also, I hear that non-chilled filtering is actually better, even though it's not as clear.

  • @schmazly2 I gess when you know that they haven't used E150 then the colour of the whisky can then be taken into consideration, and can tell you things about how it was made in terms of the casks etc. Plus non chill filtering leaves more of the fats and waxes in the whisky which carry a lot of flavour. I think there are different levels of chill filtering though, some like Glenrothes seem to want to remove most of the flavour of the whisky whereas eg. Macallan is much more lightly filtered.

  • As I sip on my lovely Lagavulin 16, i'm reminded how when I pour a dram of this Uigeadail and sip on it, my entire house fills with it's sweet aroma. I love the Uige.

  • You might want to check small retailers around but not in B.C. i travel ALOT and i remember seeing it cheaper than that in canada near west coast. Maybe Banff.

  • Dude, you're killin me! I will be on the Isle of Islay over new years 09-10. Right now my uigeadail bottle is empty but I still pop the cork off and take a wiff from time to time, and though itz a bit vapory now it brings back the memory. Well done, your video should wet the whistle of anyone who likes scotch. No doubt I will be bringing back at least a couple of bottles of that Ardbeg alone.

  • Stunning Sherry Casked Whisky.

  • take a ardbeg renaissance test

  • Nah, this is a non chill-filtered malt, so no caramel added. The dark colour comes from the spirit being part matured in fino sherry casks.

  • Looks really dark, any idea if Ardbeg adds caramel to their whisky?

  • I must try that one next :)

Have you tasted Airigh Nam Beist? if not, you simply must ;)

  • Once again Tom beautiful. Nice colour too. Ardbeg is my favourite, love the 10. Will have to try this one asap.
