  • I never tire of hearing this piece. Your performance is excellent. Thanks for putting this on YouTube!

  • You interpretation is excellent, carries the greatness demanded by this organ piece.

I heard it played by Hans Bönisch at the organ of the Cathedral of Salvador, Bahia - Brazil. I told him this was my favorite organ music, he thought for some seconds and said "come back next week".

So the next Sunday I came back and showed myself. He then invited me to go up there and sit by the organ's immense tubes.

This day I could feel the music inside my lungs, vibrating the sensation of being alive!

  • You have the distinct handicap of directly following Karl Richter in the BWV552 playlist, and the considerable distinction of that not making you look bad in the least. Chapeau!

  • I appreciated especially the liberties you took with tempo and rubato. You never lost the majesty of the piece, not even for a moment.

  • Cometh the clod

Clumping on this great stage of fools

And he sits down and breaks into the voice of God!

I mean, I love You Tube!

  • das ist das erste mal das ich dich spielen sehe & höre :) voll schön *****

  • It was played at the end of the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. A wonderful piece indeed!

  • I absolutly love this recording!!

    Great footwork!

  • absolutely astonishing!!!

  • absolutely fantastic registration, I have access to a fantastic instrument in Edinburgh with many good barouqe stops which makes bach and buxtehude all the more enjoyable to play

  • I first heard this magnificent work during the tercentenary year of BACH, Handel and Scarlatti, 1985 sponsored by the American Guild of Organists and learned it soon after. It has long been a favorite work of mine. BRAVO, with the other comments posted here. Always refreshing to hear this piece played so well. I'd take it a wee bit slower, but with BACH one is always free to rock. I've often heard this piece performed several times in a day played as differently by as many organists. SDG.

  • Excellent to have BWV-552 up on YouTube, and played so well too.

    Many thanks, and bravo!

I'd also like to know a little about the organ you're using if possible...

  • See what happens when you rattle the rafters with the organ? Down goes the camera!

    Very well done, thank you!

  • Complimenti per il video, per l'organo e per l'impeccabile esecuzione e...... scusate per la lingua ma non so l'inglese.

  • good job! when are you going to come out with a cd?

  • You really make this piece your own. Bravo! Where is the organ and when was it built?

  • Greetings from New York City! I think this is a beautiful interpretation, very dignified and tasteful.

(And I hope you wear a helmet when you ride your motorcycle.)

  • Great, I love this prelude.

The thythm of the theme is well played.

  • Bravo!!!

  • Well done !
