  • Gary Gygax is part of lots of people lives, they just dont know it.

World of Warcraft never would have been, had not been him. No 'healers' in lord of the rings, wow-boys THANK GARY

  • you have some pretty awesome books

  • how the hell can i have missed news like this, i most have bean like locked in my room for days.. oh.. w8..

  • ...? Homophobic is describing someone being afraid of homosexuals. Given Pietros's attitude, he is not homophobic, and evidence suggests that you are instead. Not to mention that his post is in no way anti-Christian. Nor is he scum. Scum are people who post demeaning posts on YouTube in an attempt to make someone feel bad, or cussing the crap out of places. Or having low standards.

Actually, I think you may be reflecting your personality onto your target.

  • Um, yes and no. Defining something is a very slippery slope, and God isn't around to clarify what he means by what it is to be Christian. The bible itself is full of quotes that at first glance, often go against each other, and even after studying some, they still go against each other. And when I said 'we', I wasn't meaning me, but rather the Father, the church, and myself. You are not acting in a manner that is expected of you. Nice strawman though.

  • well put. RIP Gary Gygax!!!

  • No, you 're simply an idiot.

And I feel sad that the other guy talking to you can't see through the fact that you 're simply messing with him yet he replies back in a serious manner to you.

The only thing to say to vermin like you is simply this: Clear your fucking mouth, fuck yourself and then get the fuck outta here you vomit-inducing little phaggot you!

  • You 're not Christian, you 're not a troll - heck, you 're not even human.

    Then what are you?

    Vermin?

Know then that vermin are disgusting creepers with no souls, so they directly end up in hell dismembered, shitted on thier heads while boiling inside a cauldron.

    Just like you.

  • Thank you for your tribute video. It's a very good video.

I will attempt to make the next few bits of writing I do somewhat "Gygaxian" in nature and scope.

I never met you, Gary, but I feel as though I was able to take the journey with you.

Good-bye, sir. You will be missed. There will always be a chair for you at my gaming table.

  • You know what? You're either a stupid idiot, or some troll playin a Christian. Being nice is what God urges people to do. You aren't seriously suggesting that a Christian rappist who always repents after each crime is better than an agnostic who can't blindly a few thousand year old book, but is a man who is just as good as any goody-two shoe Christian priest?

You're not a christian as we define them, you're a troll.

  • No it isn't. That's not even logical. God loves all of his creation, and that's why he gives us all rain, and all the light of the sun. That's why he offers forgiveness to everyone. In fact, the idea of hell is likely impart a fabrication. What would be the point of torturing a soul for eternity? Punishment is around to correct a behavior problem. Thus, hell would be around to teach those who are corrupt a valuable lesson. If not, God would have to be vindictive asshole...or a god of vengence.

  • SHUT UP ABOUT GOD !

THERE ARE NO GODS NO HEAVEN NO HELL SO STFU

    GARY IS DEAD. FUCK OFF!

    let the nerds mourn

  • This again shows you know nothing of God, the Christ nor the Christian Religion in general.

This also means you 'll end up in hell dismembered and with your head shitted on, while boiling inside a cauldron.

Clean your fucking little mouth, fuck yourself and then get the fuck outta here, you little vomit-inducing, phaggot whore!

  • Hurrah for copy & paste.

  • It's pretty much clear that you know nothing of Gog, the Christ nor the Christian Religion in general and with that last statement of yours you awesomely proved you 're not even human.

Clean your fucking little mouth, fuck yourself and then get the fuck outta here, you little vomit-inducing, phaggot whore!

  • It's pretty much clear that you know nothing of Gog, the Christ nor the Christian Religion in general and with that last statement of yours you awesomely proved you 're not even human.

You call out Gygax saying he went hell.

Gygax, who was a nice and funny person would reply to you this way: When I want your monkey-brained opinion I'll rattle your cage, okay? You wouldn't know a clue if it walked up to you, bit you on the ass, and announced 'I AM A CLUE'.

  • Clean your fucking little mouth, fuck yourself and then get the fuck outta here, you little whore

  • Then it's pretty much clear that you know nothing of the Christian Religion, since you never even opened a summed version of the Bible nor went to a church.

  • 5 star video, Ive got a lot of friends thanks to gary gigax, D&D is one of the only things that keeps me away from the computer

  • For all you know, said person's father could be a bloody Bishop and you wouldn't know it. You're not only judging someone, but you prove yourself to be a fool. And really, the whole Jesus laughing thing? Bullshit, Jesus wouldn't laugh at anyone burning in hell. If he was that kind of guy, he wouldn't have bothered saving YOUR sorry ass.

  • What a bad excuse for making you tell so bad things !!

  • It's a logic assumption that you know nothing of the Christian Religion, since you never even opened a summed version of the Bible nor went to a church.

Clean your fucking little mouth, fuck yourself and then get the fuck outta here, you little whore!

  • Nice eulogy video. I haven't really played D&D, but I've played a number of games that were inspired by it.

  • thanks alan!

  • "I'm not going to get mad this time".

    Uwee, what a relief... ROFLMAO!!!

You don't expect a serious answer now, do you?

    ROFLMAO!!!

  • Long story short, to ALL of you: Ernest Gary Gygax was a good man. This is a memorial tribute to him. Take your hateful comments elsewhere. This has nothing to do with being a nerd, a christian, a geek, a jock, or anything. We're all people, and we're all human. Arguing all this garbage on a memorial page is incredibly rude and tasteless. If this were a memorial service and you people were arguing like this, you would be asked to leave.Hiding behind the internet doesn't change that.Go elsewhere.

  • So we're geeks? So are LARPers,Star Wars Fans,Fantasy Sports Dorks,Civil War Re-reenacters,Trekkie's,Otaku,Guys who like Vans from the 70s,Dead Heads,the whole l33t crowd,Furries,Cosplay Kids,Emo Kids,Skaters,Band Geeks,Action Figure Collectors,Hot Wheel Collectors, Comic Book Guys,Chicks Who Collect Vinyl, Vespa Mods,Wrestling Fans, Roller-Derby Hipsters,Break Dancers,Robot Fighters,Apple Fans,MS Fans,Linux Fans, Bloggers, Digital Music Fans,Video gamers and so on. So what?

  • You insist on being a stubborn whore?

Wash your dity little mouth, fuck yourself and then just fuck off or you 'll end up in hell dismembered.

  • uh huh, thought you knew, any true all loving god wouldn't create a place like hell, oh and you brought religion into this not me. As for being a whore, I thought being a nerd made that little thing impossible, as nerds "never" get to touch real women. As for washing my mouth, why? my language has been for the most part clean of curse words. Calling someone simple or foolish doesn't require one to wash their mouth, would have thought you of all people would know that.

  • Dude, I 'm really sorry that you read my answer to "afolloweroflight" and thought it was directed at you.

It wasn't at all. Just forget it.

Regarding hell, satan created it after being thrown out of angelic status and not God himself.

Again, my offensive post calling somebody a "whore" was not directed at you but at "afolloweroflight" so I 'm sorry you read it.

    Cheers.

  • eh.... let's do each other a favour and just drop it. We are wasting time and energy bickering over something small and pointless. We all have our views, interpretations of what each other is saying. Right or wrong it doesn't matter.

  • Racism is just a mindless behavior caused by the fact that racists do not use *logic* to try and explain this hostile behavior of theirs towards those that they "feel" are different from them.

  • Are we any less hostile towards one another? we're attacking each other over something that doesn't really matter to either of us, where is the logic in that? you don't care about these sorts of games, I don't even think about them anymore yet here we are still talking about it. Please forgive me but I am not going to post any more responses, one of us needs to walk away from it... preferably both of us.

  • @ afolloweroflight:

So you insist on being a stupid little fucked-up moron, hey?

Know that if you keep spouting crap from inside your stinking throat you 'll end up in hell with your limbs pulled off and your head pissed and shitted on while slowly boiling inside a big cauldron.

  • Gary Gygax will always have a legend, do not let the legacy die. I hope for all to support this tribute site I found on google. GygaxGamers C0M, sign up and show your respect for a great man. Let the devolopment live on!

  • jesus saves the rest of you take damage, everyone knows jesus was a level 5 cleric. so infact even jesus played d&d. true respect to you mr gygax, i hope you become like jim henson, steven king etc, and your sons become a duplicate of you.

  • Why you little fuck, I already told you to watch your mouth, so shut up and fuck off you cretinous mean-spirited poltroon.

  • You retarded dweeb, watch your dirty mouth when putting down a sentence regarding the Christ.

  • While I'm here...nice vid. I didn't get into D&D until 2000 (though I did V:TM in early 99, and read the Dragonlance saga from the library in 97 or 98 and loved it), so Gygax is more a distant figure for me, but I realize that few people will ever even have the hope of leaving his or her mark as much as he did. Countless games (including video), shows, books, movies, owe their existence to his creativity. Our culture would be noticeably different had there been no Gygax. RIP.

  • NICE comment. What would Jesus do?

Go out into the world and teach the LOVE of my Father in heaven.

  • cool

check out a new artist from london called Dan Bowskill

  • haha adam i love it

    --ali

  • i know you're mocking me

    :)

  • You look like that Real Life RPGeron frisky Dingo lol.

  • Hey Acheron..don't know how to play d+d, pinball we had when I was your age, but keep the hair growin' and the videos flowin...nice goin

  • Well -- two things -- one is about Gary Gygax, and the other is about you, Adam.

Regarding, Gary: I'm now inspired to get a copy of "Saga of Old City", to read in his honor. I can't imagine what my teens years woulda been like without my D&D friendships... or how my writing would have otherwise evolved. Thank you for your tribute.

    Now, on to you, Adam:

If -I- were a girl, -I'd- wanna be your girlfriend. :)

  • hahaha

    thank you!

    -Adam

  • hehehe, valeu por responder mi comentario. uiaaaa. ... AbrazOOOS

  • I feel sad that he has died. But also angry that no one can post a tribute to a hero without idiots shouting bull shit. If you can't say anything good, shut up and go away.

Oh and we gamers do have lives. Despite what many people think, playing sport isn't proof that you have a life.

RIP Gary. You will be deeply missed.

  • very good point, thanks for the comment

    -Adam

  • Yea, cause kicking a ball around in between keggers is called "having a life." :-D

Better to exercise one's mind & creativity while interacting with others socially than it is to passively sit in front of a TV (even the Superbowl) tuning everyone else out. Plus, playing D&D improves everything from math to vocabulary. And Planescape got me interested in studying philosophy, Zakhara got me interested in Middle Eastern history.

I'm athletic myself, but D&D gave me more of a life than sports.

  • well said

  • Sports are way better an occupation for someone's free time than sitting inside a basement reading about pixies and brownies.

Getting out and socialize with people is better than staying inside and getting fat and ugly all alone with no contact to anybody.

And regarding "exercising mind & creativity"

one would be better off reading a real history/maths/generic culture book than taking seripusly a book about "fairytales".

  • Because, you know, you can't play a wholesome game of DnD AND socialize outside. That's just ludicrous.

  • I wasn't saying this.

I was referring to the nerds that spend the whole of their time living inside a room preparing/playing D&D and doing pretty much nothing else.

  • Btw, what kind of life does one have to have to watch YT vids on subjects that he personally has no interest in?

  • An interesting one I assure you... and BTW, I didn't waste much time watching the video 'cause I just posted a quick comment through midway its duration and making fun of nerds is... well... fun.

  • you are a sad, pathetic individual. How is a sports fan any different that a gaming nerd of any sort? both memorize game statistics, both memorize names and places. Both pick sides, wake up you ignorant, hateful creature.

  • Your view on the topic is so erroneous and blind you might want to put a dish in front of your face to actually see better.

A sports fan is one that usually goes out of his home and gets to spend more time with persons in a social environment than one who stays put inside his room playing a game or turns dizzy by staring at a video screen for innumerous hours.

And that's just a sample part of the compariosn.

  • first off, we as a whole do leave our rooms, it is only the odd few who do not. Second there are sports fans that do not leave there rooms, these are the individuals who like their "Nerd" counter parts spend all of their life keeping track of sports facts, yes they do exist.

  • I was indeed referring to those "odd few" of you who don't leave their rooms.

The majority of sports fans do practice a sport themselves otherwise there wouldn't be any point in staying at home just watching sports on TV and call yourself a sports man - or ,you know, you would end up being a nerd which would not make a difference between RPG nerds who do exactly the same thing.

Anyway, I was talking about persons who do sports outside their houses.

    I thought you grasped it.

  • wow, an actually clean reply, and indeed worth reading, well till the end of course. And despite the sarcasm I do mean it is actually worth reading. Only thing is there are an awful lot of people who are quote "sports men/women" and indeed do not play, merely watch. I prefer to play the sport and not watch others, as that is boring.

  • I have to repeat it to you for the Nth time that when I talk about "people who get involved with sports" I mean those who actually practice them and not those who just sit on their couch with pop-corn and beer just watching them on TV getting fat and lardier by the day.

  • No. Show some respect. I for one can see no reason why one would rather kick a ball around than engage in an intellectual pursuit such as a role-playing game, one that invites you to consider serious moral questions posed by life.

RIP Gary, and great video. Thank you.

  • Did I lack respect to Gygax? Where did you read that?

And If you can't see any reason to practice some sports, then stay put inside your mom's basement, get uglier than you already are, turn your body into an overweight mass and spend the rest of your life without even touching a single woman once.

    Happy life.

  • Will do!

  • Glad you will.

  • a very closed-minded perspective. News flash, not being active in sports does not guarantee obesity and unattractiveness and yes you did disrespect Mr. Gygax, when you suggested a persons time would be better spent playing a sports game. Also, what is the point of being a good sports player when your vocabulary and grammar are below a high school students. That's one thing D&D gave those of us who play, the ability to read, write and spell properly. Shame on you for attacking others on a tribute

  • Also, watch who 're calling pathetic since as it seems you don't have much better arguments to sustain inside a discussion and you only make yourself look like a dim-witted douchebag.

  • you call me a dim-witted douchebag? your the simple creature that "watched" a tribute for no reason and only make comments aimed to assault the values of others, add into it your inability to use any thing beyond foul words. Tell me were you beat up by nerds as a child? or are you one of those people who say D&D is Satan worship? I have better arguments than you on this front because I actually put thought in to this, you simple-minded bigot.

  • Yes I did and I thought it was clear after the nonsensical insults you threw at me. You 're a simplistic naive individual that never gets outside of his room ain't you? Nerds are usually the ones being beaten up and marginalized by society. Tell me you had your face whiped by a sports man and I 'll understand why you 're so depressed. Surely your language shows a complete lack of logic and perception. You haven't raised a single valid point thus far and you're nothing but a clueless poor sob.

  • neither have you, all your points have been that sports is good and any mental exercise beyond a text book is a waste of time. I admit that freely that not taking care of yourself is a mistake. As for getting beat up by jocks the answer to that is no, they were too busy getting high or drunk. As for logic, opinions do not require logic or fact, simply belief. Perception is entirely up to the individual. And finally how are my comments about you any different than yours? All you can do is cuss.

  • You completely misssed the point I was trying to make. I didn't say that "any mental exercise beyond a text book is a waste of time".Nerds that only do sit inside their room reading RPG stuff is what I am criticizing. The things you write are completely irrelevant to my answers since you take the discussion to other directions. And for what "jocks" did to you I simply don't care since I was talking about sportsmen.Opinions must always be based on logic or they simply do not make any sense.

  • Quick info:not conducing a healthy life that encompasses regular physical action drammatically raises the chances of obesity and sickness - just ask your family dock.

I didn't disrespect Gygax at all since I just told a guy to go out and practice some sports while I didn't "attack" anybody else either. Your vocabulary and grammar could have very well been developped by reading books about litterature and science other than the ones about "fictional fantasy" talking about dragons and hobbits.

  • what makes you think I don't read other literature? hmmm I'm sure you could be an interesting person to converse with if you choose to be less antagonistic. I do agree exercise is important and getting out to meet people as well, however the choices a person makes are indeed their choice, just as I have foolishly taken the bait you so carefully laid out. Just as it was your choice to ruin a tribute to a deceased person, if you didn't care you wouldn't have posted to begin with, I'm done arguing.

  • I think that you spend most of your time reading RPG stuff and that's why you got so defensive and insulted when I underlined this fact. You "took the bait" because you didn't use logic to counter my points. You just started throwing insults because you simply lack arguments to discuss. And again, I didn't ruin a tribute to a dead person at all since I just gave you an advice wihout offending anyone. I 'm also glad you admitted that "exercise is important and getting out to meet people as well".

  • I don't spend any time reading RPG stuff any more, my life is too busy to spend on enjoyment. As for throwing insults I read your beginning comments and your preceeding ones. You came here looking for a fight, not an honest discussion. You insulted us first by suggesting that all nerds are ugly and over-weight, some of us are, many of us are not. As for arguements, one can not argue opinions with logic, see racism, I hate you because your different do I need a reason? I don't hate you by the way

  • It was you who started with the insults vin the first place and not me. My first post was just an advice to people to stop living in their bedrooms (to those who really do so) and actually go out and do something that will provide them health and well-being. I wasn't trying to pick a fight either since I didn't throw any insults at anybody. It's strange that you keep insisting on that even after I told you that it wasn't the case.

  • Although I've never really played D&D, I have played quite a few D&D based games in my life, and he's the reason why I was able to.

    RIP Gary.

  • sadsd

  • RIP from Gildan the ranger and the lands of Hexaville.

  • I never played the original Dungeons and Dragons, but I did enjoy the NES game Dungeons and Dragons, so I guess he did play a role in my life.
